My take on this is that there are very few 'true believers' remaining among Christians in the Western world. For most it's a social club + rulebook (very selectively applied) for helping out with various areas in life. The reality is that it's Materialist Secularism (and its many flavors) that's the true religion for most Westerners today, including most nominal Christians.

I grew up Catholic, and by the time I was old enough to notice these things, I saw that no one in the church took the teachings seriously. They were wondering why everyone drifted away, and by the time I was 6 or 7 I saw it clearly: why would we believe in this if the adults don't? If our parents used it as a social club, why should we bother with it?

Also, the fact that most "Christians" I know who hear of it are okay with my paganism but not my interests in breaking away from the technosphere tells me what it really is that they worship.

I suspect that a lot of Christians are atheists, and that many of those who are not are worshipping demons. The problem as I see it is that far too many of them have embraced all the same ideas of not practising even basic psychic hygiene, and the outcome of this is exactly what you'd expect: things go very septic very fast.

I'm beginning to see a strong trend in traditional Catholicism. Youtube channels like Church Militant and Doctor Taylor Marshall are very popular. They've gotten popular enough that Bishop Barron, who is a nice guy but extremely bland, is disparaging them Rad Trads.

I'd go to a Latin Mass in a heartbeat if there were one near me. It could be that there will be a splintering in the Catholic Church with the woke Vatican against the traditional laity. What strange times.

This might be off-tangent, but do you think the rise in power and evil of the Mexican cartels is related to the drop in power of the Catholic Church? I've heard such heinous stories about the cartels and it seems, to me at least, that it is the power of the old Aztec gods re-asserting their strength.

In fact, last Tuesday I was thinking about putting Our Lady of Guadalupe on my altar (I have a rosary there so I thought it was redundant) when a Mexican woman and her son came into our store. The boy was wearing a necklace, and I impulsively asked him who was on the necklace. He replied that it was Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Hmmmmmm.
