Ogham Readings on Mondays

Submit your question or request for a general "what's up this week" reading and I will be happy to oblige! I read between the time I post on Sunday night with a deadline of 8pm Monday night.


I am happy to read your Ogham free of charge -- that's how I hone my divination skills -- but if you want to donate for it, I'll happily buy myself a book, a snack, or a cup of tea while on the town. Hi Kimberly,

Glad you are up and running! Hope things settle soon into a pleasant new reality for you and yours.

I'm pondering my mother's family line, and wonder if the Ogham would be able and willing to share what deep wounds exist in that line, and what their origins may be.

Ideas on how to help heal those would be much appreciated.

Hi Valerie,

My Ogham say that the wounds in your mother's family line have to do with the idea of Muin or Harvest. "You reap what you sow" comes to mind. They provide Muin well-dignified, which indicates people in that side of your family start with the best of intentions, and also that they do a lot of good work, but it comes at a heavy cost.

For your second question, what are the origins, they provide Nuin or Communication ill-dignified. Nuin means that your family has been potentially afflicted by a bad relationship to the greater outside world, for instance ancestors who survived a war or who ended up famous for the wrong reasons. There is the view of the greater world as awful and evil, and some in your family may perceive the world as out to get them.

For your third question, how to heal, the Ogham give you Eadha or Limits ill-dignified. The first mode of healing is to recognize your own limits and the limits of the situation. There seems to be an imbalance of limits, which means someone is rebelling against limits or refusing to accept them, or that they feel trapped and too weak to do anything about it. True healing comes from accepting the limits we've got and making the best out of them, starting right where we are and in whatever state we are in.

I think you and the Ogham nailed it. My mother's family signed onto the Mormon adventure from day one. (Mom is ex-Mormon. And more than a little bitter.) Such accounts as I've seen of the trip from New England and Europe to SLC, and all the stops in between, are pretty much one long trail of tears for many of them. There is a sense of chronic adversity, even now with some of them quite comfortably off. Many of them sacrificed perhaps too much for what they got in return. But still want to be paid by that evil world, largely in being agreed with. I think this transcends the religion itself. This is about personal choices made over the generations, which did not always respect the boundaries of others.

Your advice on acknowledging and working within limits is spot on!
