I think much of pop culture demonolatry is the unintentional 'edgy' acts of clueless useful idiots. Among progs there seems to be this belief that Christians (one of the main objects of their ire) are still very much dominant in society and thus need to be actively agitated against. So then these pro-demon displays we see so often these days are presumably done as means of 'sticking it to the man', to so speak.
