Hi Everyone,
I am happy to read your Ogham free of charge -- that's how I hone my divination skills. I take reading requests until 8pm Central Time (Chicago Illinois USA) on Sunday night. Though I am flattered that people want readings after the deadline, I decline reading requests made after 8pm Central Time on Sunday night without exception.
Please note I will be taking off the weeks of December 24, 2023 and December 31, 2023. Readings will resume as usual January 7, 2024.

Shoild I keep the house? Relationship issues III
Date: 2023-10-15 05:26 pm (UTC)I asked a few weeks ago about my relationship issues. I would say the reconciliation reading was fairly accurate - although we did reconcile briefly, this came to an end after our first relationship counselling session as it became glaringly obvious my partner was not invested in maintaining the relationship.
I have 3 questions, if I may.
1. We are currently leasing a house, and I have the option of staying on as the leaseholder. What would be the outcome for me if I decide to stay on as the leaseholder? Also, what would be the outcome of I decide to give it up?
2. Is my partner, in her current state, trustworthy enough to act on good faith?
3. Is it possible that she already has someone else as a new partner?

I have a slightly cryptic question this weeek:
It recently occurred to me that there was a certain pattern to things I experienced in my childhood, in my freshman year in college, and in my first job after college. Am I right to connect these three things in the way I'm connecting them (eg, that they are similar)? And if I'm right, why did I have those 3 experiences - is this related to a lesson I have to learn and/or my karma and/or purpose in this incarnation? Does it relate to my current relationship, and if so, how?

For the You position, you drew Tinne or Defense well-dignified. In any dignity, Tinne can indicate physical danger or risk of becoming ill, so take preventative measures and keep a watchful eye. Defense is very easy to get wrong. By going overboard in one direction, you can leave yourself prone to attack from other directions. In a good dignity, it is a strong indication that you are keeping your reactions sane and balanced instead of running off in a silly direction. It may indicate that you will have to verbally stand your ground, so whether it is a loved one or a total stranger, be prepared to muster the courage of your convictions.
For the Situation, you drew Onn or Community ill-dignified. Things may be uneasy between you and the niche you are placed in. Since this is in Situation, it can refer to someone you care about facing the same thing. Troubles with any kind of casual acquaintance, including local store associates, neighbors, coworkers, or extended family members, may pop up when this card is around. It is also possible that you are expecting too much from your community or that it lets you down.
For the Outcome, you drew Ailm or Transcendence ill-dignified. Looks like trolling or just being depressed/whiny are going to be very tempting for you and those around you. If there be trolls, do not sink to their level. Don't react, or at least don't show them you're reacting. Trolls love to try and bait me with telling me how I feel, and that's really funny because if they knew the dark thoughts that cross my mind with zero emotions attached as a routine result of a very strange past, they would be both horrified and sorry they asked. Just leave them wondering. As a dyed-in-the-wool Midwesterner, I am of a tribe that disdains whining or frankly showing one's emotions in general, and this can be an equal and opposite problem. Sometimes whining is good if you are truly in pain and need help... otherwise nobody will be able to tell!

You'll want to be courteous and pleasant, but don't let people push you around. If you are around the sort who want a mile every time you give an inch, don't give an inch and make yourself scarce at the first opportunity. Also, straight up beware of criminals, carry pepper spray and be ready to use it, and lock your doors.
Alternately, you could be asking too much of your community. Beware of autistic literalism and the lack of consideration for others it carries with it.
For the Situation, you drew Saille or Sensitivity well-dignified. You will be able to gain an idea of what adequate empathy, sensitivity, and compassion is made of, possibly via the example of someone who is good at all three, possibly on your own. Saille is the lesson of our stuff owning us as much as we own it, so you can use this fair weather card to get rid of stuff that isn't serving you.
For the Outcome, you drew Tinne or Defense ill-dignified. This one could be a physical warning, so I will utter my usual caution about being watchful and not taking risks. Paranoia, however, is not defense. Take the prepper who runs off to a cabin in the prairie because the end is coming any day now... he is not safe and neither is his family. When the war bands come, the very first place they are going to hit is the cozy cabin on the prairie that has lots of resources and very few people or police to defend those resources. The best defense is knowing who to trust.
For A, they give Quert or Delight ill-dignified. Manners maketh man. Manners are not necessarily a function of money or class -- in fact, the people who have made the most appalling displays of vulgarity, cheapness, rudeness, and tactlessness in my life have almost uniformly been upper middle class or rich. Yet manners, courtesy, and deportment (yes, deportment, as in the way you present yourself, bathing habits, oral hygiene, pleases and thank yous) are what make a civilization worth living in. Quert points to manners being lacking on one side, the other, or perhaps both. Letting it all hang out is definitely popular and commonplace these days, but that does not make it a good idea.

For the You position, you drew Ailm or Transcendence ill-dignified. Feeling demoralized, like you're trying and trying and nothing is giving way, could be in store. Or maybe you're straight up feeling blue and depressed. It helps to realize that feeling blue is fairly normal, especially given the trashy state of the collective astral plane. If there be trolls, don't sink to their level and refuse to react.
For the Situation, you drew Ngetal or Hygiene well-dignified. This one could be a straight up indicator of being able to fight whatever flu or cold is going around -- that said, prevention is key. It can also mean a state of knowing how and why you have to fight your own battles and the wise practice of excluding "not my circus, not my monkeys" situations. Limits and knowing where you stand and their boundaries are the measure of good mental health.
For the Outcome, you drew Mór or Sea Change well-dignified. Like the physical weather, Mór talks about the astral weather around you being more helpful than harmful. Yes, the collective state of the human astral plane may be trash, but your little corner is not quite as bad and may even be an oasis for a time. Mór indicates that this isn't something you did, caused, or can control, however you can use this time for reflection on the distant past and future as you have an unusually clear view.

For question 1, the Ogham suggest you give up the lease. For staying on as leaseholder, they give Coll or Wisdom ill-dignified, meaning factors you cannot foresee make staying a complicated pain in the behind and/or moving on will be better for you. For giving up the lease, they provide Tinne or Defense well-dignified, meaning letting it go gives you protective gains and helps fend off drama and troubles.
For question 2, they say No, she is not trustworthy, but they suggest giving her enough rope to hang herself/giving her the benefit of the doubt as if she was trustworthy. They give you Duir or Gifts ill-dignified, which means you should act in a kind, generous, magnanimous, deferring, and gentle manner that in its perverse way will make you look like the saint and her the demon. They may also be suggesting here that she is a bit of a spoiled brat.
For question 3, I straight up asked if she had someone else yet and they say No, but it's not that she isn't desiring it, it's more a lack of attainability. They give Quert or Delight ill-dignified, which says to me that she is ready to make the same mistakes all over again with someone else, but that greed and class concerns on either the future partner's part or her part may be at issue.

For the You position, you drew Ngetal or Hygiene well-dignified. You keep yourself on the up and up. This might be talking about a balance where physical health and discipline are concerned, if so, pat yourself on the back because it is not easy to maintain good eating habits and proper exercise these days. It could be the Ogham are talking about a balanced set of limits that define your own problems versus those that you should not be involving yourself in; if so, it is a good opportunity to think of times when your limits were more lax and how that laid siege to your well-being.
For the Situation, you drew Ruis or Regret ill-dignified. Someone or if you are truly unfortunate, an entire group, is trying to make you or someone you love feel guilty about something you can do nothing in the present to help. If this someone is even partially yourself, understand that remorse is wholly pointless if you don't admit what you did (even if it was only a small part), say I am not proud of that but I DON'T DO THAT ANYMORE, and move on every time the reminder pops up. There is also the possibility that someone is trying to guilt trip someone else for something that either isn't their fault or isn't that bad to begin with, such as getting all bent out of shape about a trivial matter. Back in the day, heaven forbid we teens were caught drinking, making out, or smoking joints -- boy, that was the sort of thing that made every parents' blood boil. I did all three though and here I am, still alive, working, and sober at 50!
For the Outcome, you drew Tinne or Defense ill-dignified. This one can be a danger card in my Ogham, so I will offer my usual warning about not running in flip-flops and carrying pepper spray in dark parking lots. That said, defense that is a full-time preoccupation is also known as paranoia and does not help you at all. Don't be reckless but don't overreact either. True defense is a balance -- somewhere between being extremely fearful and extremely reckless is a happy middle ground.

For the You position, they provide Gort or Perseverance well-dignified. You have what it takes to see the big picture this week. Despite setbacks, your steadfastness, reliability, and calm are what make you the rock people depend upon when the going gets rough. The presence of this card may indicate your perseverance is being tested though. Usually, when I get this card it means my finances are not being strained and that I have a solid set of workarounds in case things are not going my way.
For the Situation, you drew Duir or Gifts ill-dignified. Though this card can mean someone (maybe you) acting a bit spoiled or butthurt when confronted with your own privilege, there is no true bad side to this card in my opinion even when it is ill-dignified. I always see it as an opportunity to make the time period I am asking about extremely blessed via my acts of selfless generosity. The more gifts you give (of course this does not exclusively mean monetary gifts... Money given to "good causes" with the pat expectation of elevated status in return such as the money laundering ahem I mean charitable "gifts" of certain well-monied individuals and trusts are not truly gifts at all) in the true spirit of generosity without any expectation of being compensated, the more will come back to bless you across the planes in a magnifying effect.
For the Outcome, you drew Coll or Wisdom ill-dignified. To put it dramatically, you may be tempted to write checks with your mouth that your ass cannot cash. Think (or at least delay so you have time to think) before you speak. Consider not speaking at all. Wisdom, if you have it, is best saved for an appreciative audience: no pearls before swine. Maybe you'll have to suffer someone who is being a douchebag and presuming they know it all. Or you could be frustrated with your own lack of wisdom when it comes to something you would like to know a great deal more about.

This week does not look to be a particularly stormy one (of course I am talking about astral weather -- the physical weather is always anyone's guess!), and thank heavens for that. You have shown you are tough as nails and built to stand the test of time. When has it been hard to keep going, and what made it that way? Times where you are strong and resilient are good for reflection upon times when this was not so much the case.
For the Situation, you drew Koad or Confluence well-dignified. Partially, you've put in place good things for yourself and those in your immediate circle. This was not you alone -- you took advantage of what you had at the time and others helped too. This place is a good snapshot of balance in your life. The crossroads where you stand is one of good decisions overall. Where do you think others have tried to lead you? Do you suspect the outcome be as good as it is now?
For the Outcome, you drew Ur or Intimacy ill-dignified. This indicates feeling tired in a relationship, wanting to be alone, or feeling alone despite being with someone. For the rare bird who has no close connections and only casual friends, it is the feeling of being unmoored. You must always start with yourself. Also, editing isn't just for manuscripts. Editing, tailoring, and curating both what you say and what personality you present to the world around you is a life skill that will make every interaction with other humans much more pleasant. It is OK to be a slightly different person depending on whom you are with. For instance, I don't swear as a rule but I am willing to let one slip depending on who I am with, usually for comic effect.
As long as the core person is unchanging and true to who you want to be, it is perfectly OK to present a different facade to each group of others depending on who you are with.

For the You position, you drew Phagos or Teaching. You will be in your element, doing what you do best and perhaps being respectfully asked to share what you know. This is a good week to look at where you truly excel and shine. What directions have you been asked to go that led you to this expertise and what has tried to lead you away? What sort of thing would you like more expertise doing?
For the Situation, you drew Onn or Community. You fit well into your niche and maintain a harmonious relationship/relationships within your ecosystem of semi-strangers. It is possible that a member of your community draws closer or does you a favor or you do a favor for them. For the Outcome, you drew Coll or Wisdom. Coll is the sort of earned wisdom that only comes one way: via the school of hard knocks. That's why I wouldn't take this card at face value as "good"; you may be called upon to learn something the hard way.

Date: 2023-10-16 03:05 am (UTC)My Ogham answer with an emphatic Yes, these three things are connected. They give you Koad or Confluence well-dignified which is both affirmative and is literally a picture of three intersecting lines, so it cannot get clearer than that.
As to what significance they have regarding your karma and reasons for incarnating, they provide Fearn or Bridge well-dignified. This tells me that this existence is your bridge where you connect to others, both digging yourself out of the hole and potentially taking them with you as you rise above your past actions and behaviors.
For the final question, again it is a well-dignified card. I asked "How does this relate to Jan's current relationship?" and they gave Gort or Perseverance well-dignified. Basically the Ogham are telling you to stick it out, to think long haul, to work through and potentially overlook small frustrations. Your karma may be that of giving up on past relationships and being put into situations where you have to work through the same kinds of issues. I know that is the case for me. There have been several times where I have been confronted by a desire to give up or run away but I stuck with my gut and stayed despite my anger and frustration. That said, I have also had a number of times where I have cut and cleared people I knew for years. Their toxicity and incompatibility became too much and the wisest thing for all parties was for me to walk away.

For Dream One, they provide Uilleand or Generosity well-dignified. Though there is a good sentiment for this card and the dream attached to it, there is an implication of molly-coddling and /or guilt. Grandfather seems to have struggled with independence as many elders do, and regardless of whether he actually had mental issues or not, he worried a great deal about it. He did not want to be dependent. What he needs/needed to realize is that it is OK to fall back and depend on your family to care for you, especially when matters spin out of control, like when you struggle with mental issues.
For Dream Two, they provide Quert or Delight ill-dignified, which tells me the mistake may have had something to do with ingratitude or rejection. This one calls upon you to examine what you are grateful for, especially where your family is concerned, and to focus upon what they have done right over the years and to some degree sequester and compartmentalize what they have done wrong. The lesson of the dream is they are willing to accept you warts and all so you are called upon to do the same; focus on the positive and build on it instead of tearing down, running away, and fixating on the negative.

It could also mean having to suffer someone who is acting the fool. The warning is not to get too frustrated with what you cannot and/or do not know, and to be patient with those who are insecure but also full of themselves.
For the Situation, you drew Eadha or Limits. When ill-dignified, this may mean budgets are tight or that one or more members of the family is frustrated with the limits of the current place and time. Keep your expectations realistic, but don't allow them to err on the side of pessimism for pessimism's sake. Expectations require a good dash of balance and balance is an art.
For the Outcome you drew Onn or Community. The local community of semi-strangers, which can include store associates, co-workers, teachers, medical professionals, and even extended family is most likely going to let you down this week. Don't expect too much from the community and lay low whenever you can, meaning if there is any doubt in your gut about attending an appointment or event, it may be advisable to cancel or postpone until a more propitious week. Listen to your gut.
