Ogham Readings on Sundays

Hi Everyone,

 

I am happy to read your Ogham free of charge -- that's how I hone my divination skills. I take reading requests until 8pm Central Time (Chicago Illinois USA) on Sunday night. Though I am flattered that people want readings after the deadline, I decline reading requests made after 8pm Central Time on Sunday night without exception.

 

Please note I will be taking off the weeks of December 24, 2023 and December 31, 2023.  Readings will resume as usual January 7, 2024.

Hey Kim. I had two dreams recently that featured my family, especially my grandfather. In both dreams my grandfather struggled with mental issues (as did my father in one of the dreams), and in the second dream I responded poorly to a mistake I had made but my family sought to welcome me back to the home neverthless (though one of my siblings did berate me for running from my problem). The dreams struck me as interesting following one after the other. Can your Ogham provide some clue as to what these dreams may mean?

Hi Anon,

I asked my Ogham simply to make a general comment on Dream One and Dream Two.

For Dream One, they provide Uilleand or Generosity well-dignified. Though there is a good sentiment for this card and the dream attached to it, there is an implication of molly-coddling and /or guilt. Grandfather seems to have struggled with independence as many elders do, and regardless of whether he actually had mental issues or not, he worried a great deal about it. He did not want to be dependent. What he needs/needed to realize is that it is OK to fall back and depend on your family to care for you, especially when matters spin out of control, like when you struggle with mental issues.

For Dream Two, they provide Quert or Delight ill-dignified, which tells me the mistake may have had something to do with ingratitude or rejection. This one calls upon you to examine what you are grateful for, especially where your family is concerned, and to focus upon what they have done right over the years and to some degree sequester and compartmentalize what they have done wrong. The lesson of the dream is they are willing to accept you warts and all so you are called upon to do the same; focus on the positive and build on it instead of tearing down, running away, and fixating on the negative.

Wow, your comment on Dream 1 amazingly describes very accurately my grandfather’s living situation. He has physical disabilities that make him very dependent on his family right now to support him. Historically in his life he has always been the independent pilot, so his quiet discontent with the present situation is palpable.

And I’ll definitely meditate on your comment for Dream 2.
