Ogham Readings on Sundays
Jul. 30th, 2023 12:59 am
Hi Everyone,
I am happy to read your Ogham free of charge -- that's how I hone my divination skills. I take reading requests until 8pm Central Time (Chicago Illinois USA) on Sunday night. Though I am flattered that people want readings after the deadline, I decline reading requests made after 8pm Central Time on Sunday night without exception.
Please note I will be taking off the week of September 10, 2023. Readings will resume as usual September 17, 2023.
For a more in depth look into how I read and interpret the Ogham's symbols, please visit my website druidogham.wordpress.com.
I am currently trying to minimize my use of PayPal. If you'd like to make a donation, I would be grateful if you did it here:

Your prayers of blessing to the deity/deities of your choice are welcome whether or not you can donate.

Date: 2023-07-30 07:54 am (UTC)One of your readings in particular has been most helpful. A waterfall of blessings upon you and all who you love.
As for now... please can you kindly enquire of your Ogham what will I be wise to keep in mind this week.

Date: 2023-07-31 01:36 am (UTC)Thank you! Glad I could be of service.
This week may be a bit of a doozy: all three cards are ill-dignified.
For the You position, you drew Huath or Obstacles. This can be a physical danger card in the Ogham, so be careful where it counts and don't do anything reckless. That said, this card is more often referring to an imbalance of Martial force. Perhaps you're like me, meaning in the summer you wake up tired. My appetite is also very off in the summer. In my case, I lack Martial force if it gets warm outside and my energy is zapped despite copious amounts of caffeine. The other side of imbalance is feeling overwhelmed with anger, having excessive energy that needs to be sorted out and dealt with, and being too forceful. In my own case, both imbalances can easily happen at once.
For the Situation, you drew Phagos or Teaching. Feeling misunderstood or feeling you are casting your pearls before swine is a real possibility this week. Better to err on the side of too quiet than to step in it. Another Phagos ill-dig phenomenon is to feel frustrated by what you don't or cannot know. In this case, it is good to connect with your patron deity, as he or she most likely knows a great deal more than you, both in specifics and in general.
For the Outcome, you drew Muin or Harvest ill-dignified. Outcomes may not match expectations, and though it may be painful, it provides you a valuable opportunity to look at the crossroads where you've arrived and make a decision to continue or to back out. Another possibility is trying to get too much out of something that worked in the past, and whenever you do that, at least understand the folly of it, because it is much like how Hollywood exploits old stories and characters instead of making room for new stories and characters. Maybe it's time for a new "story" and "character".

Date: 2023-07-30 08:59 am (UTC)To review: several weeks ago, I got Ioho for the outcome, and I took it as advice to review certain travel plans I had been building up to in August. As it turns out, there is a workaround for the main motive for traveling, which made it easy to give up on those plans.
To ask: What is it that I need to know this week, according to the Ogham?
I also want to know what the Ogham makes of the scaled down travel plans for mid August.

Date: 2023-07-31 01:48 am (UTC)Boy, my Ogham is on downers today/this week... another all ill-dignified reading, and interestingly my readings this week have been mostly ill-dignified, including today's personal reading.
For the You position, you drew Luis or Protection. This is yet another danger card in my Ogham, especially when it is ill-dignified, so beware and be careful this week. Other than that, Luis can talk of feeling defensive and projecting the shadow -- carefully examine whatever it is you feel touchy or irritable about in meditation is my best advice here. You could also be paranoid, meaning overly cautious or worried. Meanwhile, what you truly ought to be worried about slips right past you because you are distracted. Keep your thinking cap on and your perspective in line.
For the Situation, you drew Gort or Perseverance. When ill-dignified, this means either your perseverance is lagging or that you have the opposite problem, that you're going full throttle into what isn't worth your time. Because this is in Situation, it could be simultaneously be happening to someone close to you... or not. I often draw this card when my bank account is running on fumes and a frustrating setback arrives as if on cue.
For the Outcome, you drew Quert or Delight. This is a card of etheric starvation, and I have noticed my own etheric starvation is especially bad. Symptoms include overeating (overeating is the body's way of compensating for etheric damage and stripping of the etheric layer), insomnia, craving sweets and salt, yawning (yawning is the body's attempt to re-set the etheric), and addictive behaviors. This can also be a card of rushing, not having time for the details of life that make life pleasant and bearable, or feeling fatigued.
My Ogham say that you'll have to keep your expectations low and your patience high for the trip in mid-August. They provide Phagos or Teaching ill-dignified, meaning there may be some human error or asinine people that rain on your parade or make things difficult.

Date: 2023-07-31 01:55 am (UTC)You drew three cards this week.
For the You position, you drew Coll or Wisdom ill-dignified. Be careful about assumptions, as the old saying goes, to assume makes an ass out of u and me. Try to give people and situations the benefit of the doubt. Also be willing to work for what you believe you deserve -- anything worthwhile will take perseverance and patience.
For the Situation, you drew Duir or Gifts well-dignified. There is much to be grateful for this week, and the gratitude you show affects you and the loved ones you draw near. With luck, this will be a week where you can share your gifts and they will share with you.
For the Outcome, you drew Nuin or Communication ill-dignified. Sometimes this card points to difficulty with technology or machines, sometimes it's a straight up "failure to communicate" or a feeling of not being able to get through to someone. It can also be a card of wanting attention and recognition that you are not going to get, or at least not in the way you had hoped.

Date: 2023-07-31 02:15 am (UTC)August should be coming up roses for you! Though it's not a guarantee, this month's challenges will be overcome with style and grace according to the Ogham. All cards were well-dignified.
For the You position, you drew Duir or Gifts. Your openness, use of the Golden Rule (do unto others), and generosity earn you divine favor this month and put opportunities before you until you have a veritable buffet of choices. Sublimate your gifts by showing unabashed thanks for them at every opportunity.
For the Situation, you drew Ailm or Transcendence. Often the very presence of Ailm means you'll have to overcome lowness of character, either your own or someone else's, so be ready to have to rise above the trolls by being utterly unlike them. True transcendence means you are too well-adjusted to be tipped or swayed by any malevolent or opposing force, and you aren't haughty about it because you are secure and confident in your own limits.
For the Outcome, you drew Mór or Sea Change. Your general astral environment is keeping you in a better place than most. Like any type of weather, this fair weather isn't something you caused or can do all that much about, so enjoy your luck while it lasts. Since your outlook is unusually clear this month, it's a good month to contemplate major decisions, make big purchases, and draw up large scale plans.

Date: 2023-07-30 05:12 pm (UTC)1. I often find myself with little to say or add in conversations at parties and big social events. I know it seems like a relatively minor issue, but I believe it's actually quite important for me to work on. What advice does your Ogham give to be more conversant at social events?
2. There's a company I'd like to work for permanently in the future, having worked for them in the past. What does your Ogham recommend to me in how to approach the company's head if I asked them how I could work permanently for them in the future? Or what would any approach to working for the company in the future require?

Date: 2023-07-31 02:32 am (UTC)Thank you! I'm glad to hear it and thank you for your blessings and prayers.
For 1.) My Ogham give you Fearn or Bridge ill-dignified. This is their way of saying "you're doing it wrong". The number one strategy at parties is to ALWAYS ASK PEOPLE ABOUT THEMSELVES AND THEIR EXPERIENCES. If you ask people about themselves, all the pressure goes off of you and you don't have to worry about coming off a certain way. Just be genuinely curious. Do you have a dog or cat? What's his or her name? Where did you grow up? What do you think of that area now? How was traffic for you on the way to the party? Where did you find parking? Second, keep it light and lively. Don't bring up politics, religion, or sex unless they lead you there. Thirdly, keep your own interjections very neutral and without agenda. Think reserved and dignified. I highly recommend staying sober unless you hold your liquor very well. If you get a person clinging to you whom you do not like (this will often happen with the above strategies) politely excuse yourself and leave.
2. My Ogham say it could work out and if you make it in there, the compensation will be very comfortable. They give Duir or Gifts ill-dignified, meaning that you need to approach with overwhelming magnanimity and leonine largesse. Be confident in your own competence and act graciously in a way a powerful COO would act -- no sucking up. You've got to completely own it and be unflappable.

Date: 2023-07-30 08:29 pm (UTC)Our indoor-only senior cat got out and is missing. Will you please ask the Ogham:
1. Is she alive?
2. If she is alive, will she be coming home to us anytime soon?
I am very grateful for both you and the Ogham. Thank you.

Re: Another question
Date: 2023-07-31 03:00 am (UTC)My Ogham do not think she is still alive, but the card they give is not certain. They give Nuin or Communication ill-dignified, which means she's either gone from the physical plane or that they are unclear and cannot find out that information for you.
One of the two cats I rescued from my aunt's house when she died in 2019 escaped and never came back. I took the cats to live at my parents' house because I had my cat Kiki at that time and Kiki would have never forgiven me if she had to share my attention with two newcomers. The two cats I brought to my parents were Robin and Dixie. Both were approximately 14 or 15 years old when I rescued them. My parents had them for two years when Robin, age 17, got out when my dad was moving some stuff inside the house through an open door. She lurked around the house but would not come when called. Of course my dad left food and water for her and watched for her constantly. Within a week she disappeared for good. I believe Robin went off to die because she knew she was dying as cats do. It's also possible she went off to try and find my deceased aunt who lived about 50 miles north -- animals often have a homing instinct and unlike her more resilient (non-blood) sister Dixie, Robin never got over the change of residences. I will certainly send prayers to Lady Bast for her if you would like me to.
Re: Another question
Date: 2023-07-31 06:35 pm (UTC)Yes, prayers to Bast would be appreciated. She would have been 17 in a couple of months. I appreciate you sharing your story with me.

Date: 2023-07-30 08:52 pm (UTC)My wife and I are seemingly banging our heads against the wall trying to find a new home for our family that works as well as it can for all involved. We've been looking for almost a year now, and nothing quite fits. I wonder if your Ogham have anything to say about this path we've chosen?
Sincerely,

Date: 2023-07-31 03:34 am (UTC)I can certainly empathize with you. My husband and I lived with my parents quite a few times over the years as we went through a ton of financial trouble. We finally were able to buy the most modest of homes in 2016 after years of perseverance and setbacks, and this particular house was a handyman's special to the nth power. It has come a long, long way but the shower still leaks, the basement is still gross, and the kitchen is dark and cramped.
Owning a home had been my dream for a long time and various mistakes and misunderstandings got in the way over the years. Because our finances were always extremely limited, I told myself that if we did not qualify for a mortgage (we almost didn't and we could not afford anything with an association fee) that we would move abroad for a time or at the very least to a more business/entrepreneur friendly state than Illinois. For me, such an approach was the definition of scorched earth. At some point, I told the spirit of the land in my local area that if I could not own a home here, I would have no choice but to fly the coop for awhile. Illinois decided to work with me and keep me around, at least for now.
My Ogham give you Oír or Epiphany ill-dignified -- except for Neb's reading a couple of entries above this, they have been overwhelmingly negative today and this week. Oír in this case means that you realize you have to think differently. For instance, you may have to go far more rural or urban than you had planned, you might have to arrange for a different set of employment arrangements, and you must think well outside the box on this one.

Date: 2023-07-31 04:22 pm (UTC)The Ogham result is no surprise to me. It reflects exactly what's been in my mind and heart for the past while now, and I'm in the process of figuring out those changes. So, in a sense, it confirms for me what we must do.
Blessings and gratitude to you.

Week 31
Date: 2023-07-30 09:54 pm (UTC)1. What do I need to know in order to make the best out of this week?
2. May the Ogham comment on my surrounding environment?
Thanks!

Re: Week 31
Date: 2023-07-31 03:43 am (UTC)My Ogham give you three cards this week.
For the You position, they provide Quert or Delight ill-dignified. Etheric starvation is the real pandemic this week (and always) and it makes a great deal of sense to put extra attention into addressing it. Getting into the sunlight, earthing it out with hard work that isn't in front of a screen, and eating well go a long ways towards healing the etheric body. Good will and good karma can also be generated by acting politely, paying attention to detail, and giving kind words without having to have a reason why.
For the Situation, you drew Ngetal or Hygiene ill-dignified. This one goes right along with etheric starvation. If you have addiction issues -- shopping, eating, drinking, etc., they get worse this week, so this card gives you the opportunity to head it off at the pass by practicing moderation. This is a good week to clean up your act in every respect: take that additional bath or shower, eat well, and act according to the "do unto others" Golden Rule.
For the Outcome, you drew Uilleand or Generosity well-dignified. Generosity is your saving grace this week. Abundance is always sweeter when shared. By giving others the benefit of the doubt, you can raise your general vibration and theirs.
My Ogham provide Ailm or Transcendence well-dignified in response to your question about the surrounding environment. They say it's far from perfect but there is an uplift on your part. You're getting over it and rising above it. It is becoming better than the sum of its parts, and that has much to do with you and your attitude.

Date: 2023-07-30 11:57 pm (UTC)What do the Ogham wish to tell me about how August will fare?
no subject
Date: 2023-07-31 04:02 am (UTC)The Ogham give you three cards for August.
For the You position, you drew Fearn or Bridge ill-dignified. It's easy to want to burn bridges this month, but don't give up so easily. Work diligently to find common ground. Make genuine efforts of outreach and don't allow yourself to throw away the baby with the bathwater -- there is always something that can be salvaged even from a dumpster fire.
For the Situation, you drew Mór or Sea Change ill-dignified. Much of the current heaviness has absolutely nothing to do with you personally. It's the astral weather right now. For what it's worth, the collective astral has been absolutely horrible in my corner of the universe, especially today. I can always tell by the way people are acting on the road. There was a guy riding a bike, completely alone, wearing a mask. To my mind, it was as if he was wearing a sign advertising that he had a psychotic break and might shoot up a school or a theater any day now. There were several insecure men in trucks nearly causing accidents to get a few car lengths ahead. And this week, a guy in a muscle car completely blew a light that had been red for a full minute in a crowded intersection.
For the Outcome, you drew Onn or Community well-dignified. You have a propensity to treat your local community of semi-strangers (this can include extended family) very well this month, and if this is par for the course for you, it has generated some excellent karma. It's a good month to get out and do stuff in the public square, whether that is for work or entertainment, it is especially fulfilling and productive.
August guidance
Date: 2023-07-30 11:58 pm (UTC)I can't believe August is arriving already. Once again I'd like to ask you and your Ogham for guidance. How can I best direct my efforts and energies in the coming month?
Thank you!
Jonathan.
Re: August guidance
Date: 2023-07-31 04:18 am (UTC)You and me both! Time flies.
You drew three cards for August.
For the You position, you drew Luis or Protection ill-dignified. Luis in any dignity can be a physical danger card in my Ogham -- please be extra wary and don't do anything chancy this month. no standing on rickety ladders or running in flip flops. With my usual warning out of the way, Luis ill-dig means don't get paranoid or worked up too easily about what presents itself as an emergency if it's not a legitimate emergency. On the other side of imbalance is a lack of protection, meaning it's OK to suspect some people of wishing you harm or to believe that you're under attack, because you're probably correct.
For the Situation, you drew Ngetal or Hygiene well-dignified. You are in a good place to maintain your health and well-being right now. Perhaps you live in a good situation or have a loved one who has a talent for maintaining the etheric. Either way, you are especially blessed. It's a good month to look at what you are doing right health-wise and to expand those forms of moderation to the parts of your life that need it most.
For the Outcome, you drew Saille or Sensitivity ill-dignified. It's all too easy to take your blessings for granted. When our own egos (stoked by caco-media and forces that wish to become our puppeteers) call the shots, we can overlook the beings who support and nurture us out of the goodness of their hearts. This is the month NOT to be that guy -- don't be afraid to say Thank You. Plan on doing your fair share of etheric labor, a.k.a. housework and home repair, and pick up the slack as a silent way of showing gratitude.

Date: 2023-07-31 04:37 am (UTC)Thanks for the birthday wishes! It was a good one.
You drew three cards this week.
For the You position, you drew Straif or Resilience well-dignified. This week presents its challenges, but you have the strength to weather them. There is a balance of how you react this week that deserves observation and rumination. In unhappy families, everyone is in a constant state of either over- or under-reaction. Meaning they are either dramatic or numb or some mixture of both. The middle way is by far the best.
For the Situation, you drew Saille or Sensitivity ill-dignified. It's very possible that one of the family's members is being irresponsible with etheric labor and expecting others to pick up the slack. The classic scenario is when one family member leaves a pile of dirty dishes for the other family member, expecting him or her to be their servant. This is a form of insensitivity that is very frustrating. Another potential issue is too much stuff. In that case, it means it is time to do a purge and to ruthlessly minimize your belongings because of that old adage about your stuff owning you instead of you owning it.
For the Outcome, you drew Eadha or Limits well-dignified. Setting good limits is your strength this week, and though they may not thank you now, they will thank you someday for setting such an uncommon example. Setting limits and working within them can feel like deprivation but it is not. It is powerful and teaches the soul an important lesson about not squandering your gifts or taking them for granted.

Thank you,

Date: 2023-07-31 04:45 am (UTC)Unfortunately, my Ogham say she's fixed her evil eye on you. They provide Ur or Intimacy ill-dignified, meaning that she is projecting what she hates about herself on you because she feels some kind of deranged sympathy with you.
As for dealing with her, they provide Ngetal or Hygiene well-dignified. I think they are referring to natural magic. Wear a red bag amulet if you have to be anywhere near her. If you're not doing a daily banishing ritual, you should be. Also, if you have to be physically near her, take a hoodoo bath. Even a regular warm bath where you are immersed in water (make sure you wash your hair; I notice that washing my hair along with everything else is needed for any bath to be effective) is better than nothing. You should be bathing every day regardless of your direct exposure to her because of what she is sending your way. It's important not to hate her. If you do that, you merely stoop to her level and make it easier for her to get you. Take all the pity you want but save your hate for the malevolent forces who want to drag you down and make you exactly like her. By becoming unlike them in every way, you'll handily win against her and the legions that resemble her.
