Ogham Readings on Sundays
Apr. 22nd, 2023 10:55 pm
Hi Everyone,
I am happy to read your Ogham free of charge -- that's how I hone my divination skills. I take reading requests until 8pm Central Time (Chicago Illinois USA) on Sunday night. Though I am flattered that people want readings after the deadline, I decline reading requests made after 8pm Central Time on Sunday night without exception.
For a more in depth look into how I read and interpret the Ogham's symbols, please visit my website druidogham.wordpress.com.
I am currently trying to minimize my use of PayPal. If you'd like to make a donation, I would be grateful if you did it here:
http://buymeacoffee.com/kimberlysteele
Your prayers of blessing to the deity/deities of your choice are welcome whether or not you can donate.

Ogham readings are concluded for the week of April 23, but feel free to leave additional comments on existing readings. Also, consider a BuyMeaCoffee membership for an extra reading every month... you can quit anytime. Thank you and see you next week for more free readings!

Date: 2023-04-23 04:14 am (UTC)Hi Kimberly,
What would the outcome be if I pursued Situation C?
Thank you for your time.
Week 17
Date: 2023-04-23 06:10 am (UTC)1. What do I need to know in order to make the best out of this week?
2. May the Ogham comment on my spiritual practice? In other words, am I in the right direction? Am I going in the wrong direction? Am I not putting enough energy into it? I hope I am just restating the same question :-)
Thanks!
-Eugene

Date: 2023-04-23 11:23 am (UTC)As I always I remain grateful for your take on things!
I was contemplating asking your Ogham this week and after I read your posts I have decided to ask on behalf of my son who is struggling with a persistent infection on his tonsils (not strep, but really awful). He has used antibiotics and the story is the same-better for a few weeks and it comes back. He has been better for a month an I allowed him to get braces (the kind you can take off) and within three days his throat exploded. I am of the opinion to take them off-the orthodontist will be unable to make the connection between infection and braces so it will be a battle to get my money back. What does the Ogham say about a) taking off the braces? b) is current treatment for his throat/gut challenge the right choice?
Thank you again!

Date: 2023-04-23 01:30 pm (UTC)Kind of a big topic with a lot of potential questions this week.
As you know I live in Great Britain, and I'm pretty worried about the future of Europe. I love this country and it wrenches my heart to think about leaving it, but I can't really see how we're going to avoid a very messy future of warfare, mass migration, and ethnic conflict. We might be spared the worst if we manage to keep out of the next European war, but the other factors will not be going away.
I have a (lapsed) American passport due to my father's nationality, and I have seriously contemplated JMG's suggestion to migrate to the Northeast of the US - having visited Upstate New York, it was already at the top of my list of potential non-European migration spots.
My parents, although in blessedly good health and youthful spirits, are both in their 70s, and as their only surviving son, I'm not going to abandon them. However, dragging them across the Atlantic would be too much of an upheaval at their age - my father is American but older, and my mother is younger but very, very English, and probably would not adapt so well. Things would have to get genuinely dangerous in Britain for their moving to be worth considering.
So I feel somewhat caught between a rock and a hard place. I can think of a lot of different questions I'd like to ask, but I'll try and keep it as simple as I can - what do your Ogham think of my longer-term (10+ year) future in Britain? And what advice do they have for taking care of my parents in that context?
Immense gratitude from across the pond,
Luke

Date: 2023-04-23 04:15 pm (UTC)a) A while back, I asked about having made a mistake and confirmed I heard correctly about instructions from Venus on how to fix it. I've started what she told me to do, but circumstances seem very, very different from what I was expecting them to be, in ways that make it seem a lot less likely that this course of action will fix my mistake; additionally, a few things in my life in general are quite different in ways I was not expecting at all (and which have what I'm starting recognize as the hallmarks of a god unexpectedly intervening in my life; but that's a whole other discussion), which will render things in the domain Venus was talking about problematic in ways I was not expecting.
I prayed to Venus a couple nights ago, and if I heard right, she is telling me to stay the course; that she saw all of this in advance and everything will still work out if I have faith in her, pursue the possibility open to me when it comes up, and accept that there are roadblocks I did not see, but which she has already taken into account. I have faith in her, but not in my own ability to hear prayers correctly: on a number of occasions in the past I've completely misunderstood messages from gods, and so would like verification that I heard this correctly.
b) I'm planning to expand my daily protective ritual. What do your ogham think of the idea of me performing the LBRP, Rose Cross, and Middle Pillar exercise daily at this point in time?
c) I'm realizing that a good portion of the problems with my life unfold from my troubled relationship with Mars, and would like to fix this. My go to technique is Planetary Charity, but would like a round of divination on the topic before I pursue this possibility, given just how troubled my relationship with Mars is.
Would Mars accept a donation of 25 dollars a week over the next five weeks (starting on this Tuesday) made in his name to The Royal Canadian Legion, as a way of reaching out and asking for his guidance and assistance to begin the process of forging a healthier and more balanced relationship with him?
Re: Gratitude
Date: 2023-04-23 06:04 pm (UTC)She absolutely swore by four supplements every day, which she took religiously: Zinc (anywhere from 22-60 mg per day, depending on how much immunity help she felt she needed), Vitamin C, Vitamin D, and a B spectrum (Vitamin B-6, B-12, etc). All of these were generic supplements for about $10 per bottle. Taken every day, these made her nearly bug-proof, no isolation or health provider needed. She was also known to use zinc lozenges, anywhere from 1-4 a day after meals as well as a common Third world remedy of gargling/passing through the nostrils a quarter cup of purified water with a teaspoon of salt and a few drops of Betadine or hydrogen peroxide in it. Not the most fun way of passing her time, but it did help her when congestion was severe.

Date: 2023-04-23 09:18 pm (UTC)Re: Week 17
Date: 2023-04-23 09:31 pm (UTC)This week is prone to imbalance: all three cards were ill-dignified. That said, some of the best days of my life (I read Ogham every day for myself) have been on all ill-dig readings, so keep in mind the Ogham are very gentle in their warnings.
For the You position, you drew Straif or Resilience. When ill-dignified, this means feeling unsteady and un-ready for what you suspect the future holds. In short, the Ogham notice an excess of unproductive worry. They suggest letting the future work itself out and concentrating only on being a better person today than you were yesterday, if only by the slightest bit.
For the Situation, you drew Quert or Delight. This points to not taking enough time to stop and enjoy the tiny, little pleasures of life. Just today I saw a woman and her young adult daughter at the checkout line of the grocery store. They were bickering with each other and the woman was very harsh about the way her daughter packed and handled the groceries. The daughter was surly and irritated in response to her mother's nagging. Instead of quietly appreciating the bounty of the grocery store and being able to afford plenty of delicious food, the mother made the daughter feel inadequate about how she loaded the food into bags. Basically it was the mother's way of saying "You cannot do anything right as far as I am concerned". Her example was an effective demonstration of missing the forest for the trees: Quert imbalanced. The remedy, of course, is to let the grocery bagger handle their own job and relax and enjoy planning the meals to be made from all those wonderful groceries.
For the Outcome, you drew Onn or Commmunity ill-dignified. Onn speaks of feeling ill at ease in the world of semi-strangers and feeling cast out of normal human activities and rites of passage. It can also talk about needing to lay low because people are being jerks. The other possibility is that you are asking more of your community than they are capable of giving, and then again the advice is to lay low for a little while.
For your spiritual practice, my Ogham say you are on the right track and that you are heading for True North with the right amount of energy. They provide Duir or Gifts well-dignified, which is to say that you have only just begun and that many fulfilling experiences await. So be patient and keep an eye open for synchronicities and messages from the divine.

Date: 2023-04-23 09:38 pm (UTC)You drew three cards this week.
For the You position, you drew Ruis or Regret well-dignified. Though you may find yourself assailed by unwanted memories, even those of a bitter nature, you take a sanguine and balanced attitude towards them this week and you are determined not to make similar mistakes. The benefit of Regret happens when you learn from the error and resolve not to do that anymore. The error does not go away but you get value from it instead of repeating it again and again.
For the Situation, you drew Ngetal or Health well-dignified. The very presence of this card is a health warning for you and potentially people who are close to you -- keep up with supplements, mild exercise, and other sane approaches to health and hygiene. Hygiene/health in balance means that your pragmatism stands a good chance of triumphing over the obsessions and fanaticisms of our weird demonic age this week.
For the Outcome, you drew Ailm or Transcendence well-dignified. If there be trolls, you stand a good chance of ignoring them and letting them spin out into oblivion this week. Rising above the ugliness and refusing it the attention it craves is the way you beat it. That said, there may be a tough challenge or challenges this week, so brace yourself.

Date: 2023-04-23 09:46 pm (UTC)You drew three cards this week.
For the You position, you drew Gort or Perseverance ill-dignified. For me, Gort in this dignity often signifies a financial hit or a week where my bank account is running on fumes. Other than that, it can be talking about pursuing opportunities that aren't worth the price, bad habits, or unproductive ways of thinking that need to be unpacked in discursive meditation.
For the Situation, you drew Ioho or Grace ill-dignified. Ioho in this dignity means having trouble letting go of something or somebody or being afraid. Because Gort is in Situation here, it could be referring to someone close to you or a force that isn't you but causes trouble in your life. To attract the energy of grace, be graceful. Thoughtfully defer instead of trying to cling when you realize (or at least get a hint) that something is not meant to be.
For the Outcome, you drew Muin or Harvest ill-dignified. This card is much akin to Gort ill-dignified, however it has the aspect of being frustrated or unwilling to wait. It could be you are waiting for something to bear fruit that is taking a very loooong time. Or it could be that it has borne fruit, but it is less than you expected or completely different.

Date: 2023-04-23 10:28 pm (UTC)I feel your pain on this one, as I am in a similar situation. My parents are elderly and very, very attached to their little corner of the Chicago suburbs. I cannot tell you how many times I have almost said "Screw it" and moved to a remote part of the world where everyone does not have to own a car if they want to survive. My parents have kept me tethered here: there is often no other reason to stay. Chicago gets worse and worse, from frying pan (Beetlejuice runner-up Lori Lightfoot, I wish I could find the meme where she is depicted as a Godzilla with a giant strap-on) to fire (Brandon Davis, who wants to defund the police and give looting teenagers "job opportunities" so they are not "bored"). And don't get me started about our morbidly obese Emperor Butterball, ahem I mean governor J.B. Pritzker.
My Ogham give you two cards. For your 10 plus year future in Britain, they provide Ruis or Regret well-dignified. Very simply, you will not regret staying in Britain for your parents' sake. Perhaps you will come to the realization that the grass is not greener anywhere else. I used to dream about living in Canada because I love cold weather and mountains. I'm incredibly glad I never followed up on that impulse.
As far as your parents and your approach to caring for them, the Ogham provide Eadha or Limits well-dignified. Your genius in caring for your parents has to do with recognizing their limits. The Ogham advise also knowing your own limits and exactly how bad it has to be before you leave your beloved country. In my case, I am tied to the prairie of this particular era. I was born in Chicago and there's something about the land itself that has integrated itself into my blood. I may be half-Japanese and half Italian-Irish or whatever I am, but I am 100% of this particular land and being here brings its own kind of peace for me. I guess I'm an honorary Native American!

Re: Princess Cutekitten
Date: 2023-04-23 10:54 pm (UTC)You drew three cards this week.
For the You position, you drew Quert or Delight ill-dignified, meaning there may be a tendency towards grumpiness, boredom, and the tendency to take good things for granted. The Ogham suggest putting genuine effort into rising above impulses towards unkindness and not giving others the benefit of the doubt.
For the Situation, you drew Tinne or Defense well-dignified. The very presence of this card can indicate physical danger, and because it is in Situation, it can affect those in your immediate circle, so be warned. Overall, it talks about a balanced approach to what and who you allow into your life, and more importantly what you keep out of your life.
For the Outcome, you drew Fearn or Bridge well-dignified. Fearn is the ability to take the good from bad people, bad sources, bad books, bad media, etc. and to negotiate with people you find disagreeable. In short, it is the Ogham giving you kudos for your maturity. It could also mean offering needed guidance to someone else.

Date: 2023-04-23 11:29 pm (UTC)As to a) regarding your observations of the differences of expectations and reality, they say you are correct. They provide Muin or Harvest well-dignified, meaning that the gods have decided to help you and by allowing them free reign to work in your life, you will get a much better "harvest" than you have in the past.
For b) my Ogham think you should do the LBRP, Rose Cross, and Middle Pillar daily. They provide Luis or Protection well-dignified, indicating this is what your Holy Guardian Angel/Higher Self wants you to do.
For c) doing planetary charity and donating $25 per week to the Royal Canadian Legion, my Ogham once again greenlight it and provide Fearn or Guidance well-dignified to signify their approval.

Date: 2023-04-23 11:43 pm (UTC)For A) they give Luis or Protection well-dignified, meaning that A) is the safest, most conservative choice.
For B) they give Mór or Sea Change well-dignified, indicating that B) is the most dependent on general trends and may be good today, but not guaranteed for tomorrow.
For C) they provide Huath or Obstacles well-dignified, meaning that C) is the hardest to win, but perhaps the sweetest because it is a path less traveled.
Personally, I would be likely to go with A) because it is potentially approved by your higher self. Luis or Protection is the calling card of the higher self in my Ogham.

Date: 2023-04-23 11:52 pm (UTC)My Ogham predict a fairly balanced month for you.
For the You position, you drew Mór or Sea Change well-dignified. Luck is generally good this month, and the astral weather in your area is either less crappy than average or your general way of being is able to deflect most of the usual garbage. It's a good month to look at how you successfully stay above the s**tshow that is the astral plane in the best of times.
For the Situation, you drew Phagos or Teaching well-dignified. This month affords the opportunity to gain mastery, to learn from masters, or to share your own areas of mastery. Because it is in Situation, it could affect or be happening to someone close to you.
For the Outcome, you drew Ailm or Transcendence, which means you could be confronted or someone/something could try to drag you down, but they are not going to succeed. You can defeat many trolls by refusing to pay attention to them, and that includes non-corporeal trolls who would seek to plant self-defeating behavior in your head for their own benefit.
For the event, my Ogham like it. They provide Tinne or Defense, which means getting there or being there may be a bit dangerous, so be on your guard. Overall they think it is good and helps you gain valuable life experience.

Date: 2023-04-24 12:34 am (UTC)For B, they provide Straif or Resilience well-dignified. Straif means worry where worry is worthwhile and helpful, preparing well in advance, and sustainability.

Date: 2023-04-24 04:08 am (UTC)You and the fam drew three cards this week.
For the You position, you drew Koad or Confluence well-dignified. The snapshot of this week is generally harmonious, and this is both a result of nature and nurture. It is a good week to look at what you've put in place that is working and to consider what forces outside your control are affecting your luck, for better or for worse.
For the Situation, you drew Saille or Sensitivity well-dignified. There may be a fallout or another kind of paring down -- the "trash taking itself out" is a good way of putting it. In this case, despite the well-dignified nature of the card, the process could be painful. Overall, it points to choosing what you love over that which you are lukewarm towards (or even disdainful) and having more time and energy for what you love as a result.
For the Outcome, you drew Ailm or Transcendence ill-dignified. There are a couple of possibilities of imbalance here: one is false transcendence, which often involves denying that anything is wrong in order to present a good face to the outside world while also trying to "fake it until you make it" on the inside. The other is straight up letting the trolls or the garbage state of the world drag you down to its level: depression, anger, and frustration would be common symptoms of this.

Date: 2023-04-24 04:25 am (UTC)You drew three cards this week.
For the You position, you drew Uilleand or Generosity ill-dignified. This is one of those Ogham tree letters that is not necessarily bad, even when ill-dignified. The worst possible aspect of it is that it warns that you are molly-coddling someone who feels smothered by your affection or that the same thing is happening to you. Uilleand can also mean that you are being doted on in a happy way that is a bit excessive, so it becomes your responsibility to pay it forward. It often speaks of being generous to a fault, and in that case, your generosity will be returned to you sevenfold in the spirit it was given.
For the Situation, you drew Ngetal or Hygiene ill-dignified. This tree card could signify a health risk or danger, so be warned. Ngetal talks about an imbalance of worry that may or may not be rooted in reality. Because it is in Situation, it could be someone close to you doing the worrying or lack thereof. The lesson of complaining about one's health is clear: do it too much, and you end up wallowing in the litany of your own misery: you become what you talk about. If you're super-hardcore and refuse to talk about any health problem you are suffering, you drop dead one day and nobody can help you because you were too stubborn to admit you needed help. The balanced route is in the middle of those two poles, of course.
For the Outcome, you drew Fearn or Guidance ill-dignified. It may be tempting to burn some bridges or to refuse to give anyone/anything you disagree with the time of day. Don't make yourself into an island; that can turn into solipsism quickly. That said, beware of swindlers, scammers, false gurus, clueless idiots who think they can and should lead, and egomaniacs who talk a good game. Make them put up or shut up... they'll run away if they can't do the former!
