Ogham Readings on Mondays
Aug. 3rd, 2020 01:54 amSubmit your question or request for a general "what's up this week" reading and I will be happy to oblige!

I am happy to read your Ogham free of charge -- that's how I hone my divination skills -- but if you want to donate for it, I'll happily buy myself a delightful green tea latte or a veggieburger or a used book with the proceeds!

Date: 2020-08-03 05:09 pm (UTC)My Ogham say no, at least not this week. They give me Ailm, which means Transcendence, ill-dignified. Ailm ill-dignified means there are two possibilities of imbalance that you can work on to get back into balance.

One is the thought that you have transcended when you have not, for instance, "Damn, look at me, hot stuff, I'm already perfect, it's those people who should want me, warts and all!" or the other type of imbalance, "Poor pitiful me! I'm so plain, uninteresting, broke, depressed etc. I'll never be worthy of a mate!" Obviously you have to decide which type of imbalance the Ogham is pointing out and to what degree it is happening.

Date: 2020-08-04 12:25 am (UTC)My Ogham say no, not within the lunar month. They gave me Ngetal, which means Cleansing or Cleaning. This means it's an opportunity to clean house both literally and figuratively before going back to full time work. I got the sense you might end up with part time work if you're not already doing it. One thing that helps me when my music studio gets slow and I need to increase business is to do a hoodoo floor vacuum (the floors are carpeting so I can't do a hoodoo floor wash) on Saturday during Saturn's hour and then follow up on a Thursday with a Jupiterian blessing of incense, either frankincense or cedar, during the Jupiter hour. I don't see why you couldn't do this for your own person, meaning take a hoodoo bath on a Saturday night during a waning moon with the intention of cleansing away any baggage that might prevent you from getting the work you want. Then maybe follow up on a Thursday during a waxing moon by lighting a blue candle and reciting the Orphic Hymn to Jupiter while wearing a cedar-y fragrance, something to that effect.

Date: 2020-08-04 01:52 am (UTC)If I manage to get in before the cutoff, I'm game for a "what's the most important thing I need to know about this week" reading. I'll also report back next Monday with how things turned out!
Best,
Andrew
Reading for Andrew
Date: 2020-08-04 02:37 am (UTC)I did a 3 card reading for you -- it's looking like it will be a pleasant week.
For the You part of the reading, the Ogham is Duir, ill-dignified. Duir is the oak tree. This means you'll either give or receive a gift or possibly both. Keep in mind the gift does not have to be a material thing.
There is no bad side to Duir. Ill-dignified, it often implies the feeling of having to pay forward your good fortune.
The Situation card, which indicates things outside your control or only partially within your control came up as Eadha. In my system, Eadha means Limits and the tree is the quaking aspen. It's well-dignified in your reading which means you may face limits this week but you'll use them as an opportunity to understand the beauty of limits. You'll neither rail against your limits nor cower far away from the boundaries of your limits. Instead, you'll be grateful and appreciative of your limits.
The Lesson or Outcome card is Muin, well-dignified. In my midwestern Ogham, I associate Muin with raspberries or wild blackberries. In the "normal" Ogham, they mean grapevine. Both are berries you can make wine out of and imply a celebratory, Dionysian atmosphere. You'll likely take some time to celebrate this week. Muin implies a celebration that has been worked for and genuinely earned.

Date: 2020-08-05 05:08 am (UTC)My Ogham say it will be a good week. For the You position, they give me Uilleand. I consider the Forfedha too complex to read as ill-dignified. Uilleand, for which the plant attribution is the gracious and nourishing to wildlife but somewhat invasive honeysuckle, is the culmination of your karma relating to generosity. If you have been generous, you will see returns on that generosity this week. If you have been parsimonious, you will see that economical approach returned to you, for better or for worse.
For the Situation card, they give me Ngetal well-dignified. Ngetal is attributed to broom in the regular Ogham. I am still in the process of deciding what it is for my Midwestern Ogham but I'm thinking of associating it with Goldenrod. Ngetal means Cleaning or Cleansing and this points to your level of hygiene (usually for me it is astral hygiene more than physical hygiene) will be just right. The final card, Lesson or Outcome position, is Beith. This indicates a new beginning of some sort. It is well-dignified so all signs point to it being an auspicious start.
