Ogham Readings on Sundays

I am happy to read your Ogham free of charge -- that's how I hone my divination skills. I take reading requests until 8pm Central Time (Chicago Illinois USA) on Sunday night. Though I am flattered that people want readings after the deadline, I decline reading requests made after 8pm Central Time on Sunday night without exception.

I will be taking off the last Sunday in December 2022 and the first Sunday of 2023 this year.

Hi Kimberly,

A few questions this week:

1. What do I need to know in order to make the best out of this week?

2. Could the Ogham comment on the "state of my karma," for lack of a better phrase?
Background: I sometimes feel like this is my first human incarnation, perhaps in order to comfort myself for the many huge mistakes that (I think) I've made in my life. But then I wonder, if this isn't my first time, what is the universe trying to tell me that I keep ignoring?

3. Not including the spells coming from media advertisers/professional con artists/self-serving bureaucrats, am I under psychic attack from someone I (used to) know?

Hi Eugene,

You drew three cards this week.

For the You position, you drew Beith or Intention well-dignified. You have the presence of mind this week to complete old cycles and to go in a new, positive direction. Understanding your own limitations without overreaction, guilt, or unexamined fear will go a long way in helping you to shape the best future for yourself this week.

For the Situation, you drew Huath or Obstacles well-dignified. When you meet challenges without whining but also without obtuse acceptance (letting life steamroll over you) it strengthens you against future adversity. You will have at least one challenge this week that is put before you as a test of your character. The balanced way of dealing with challenges is not to waffle and cower but also not to force through like a bull in a china shop. As in all things, moderation and living in the middle are the best strategy.

For the Outcome, you drew Ur or Intimacy ill-dignified. This points to possible Forever Alone syndrome, otherwise known as lack of intimacy, where you withdraw into a shell. Other imbalances of intimacy include babbling information in an urge to look "cool", telling secrets that need to stay secret, or generally trying to people please to your own detriment. Because this is Situation, it may indicate someone in your world who is doing the same thing or person with whom genuine intimacy is difficult to impossible.

For your State of Karma, my Ogham provide Uilleand or Generosity. When this is ill-dignified, it often indicates a tendency to smother or be smothered. If it is a tendency to smother, it means you dump affection on whoever is closest to you (friend, lover, family) and then get angry, frustrated, disappointed, or depressed when they don't reciprocate your feelings and actions. It can also point to someone doing this to you by turning you into a fetish/mascot, though it is more common for men to be the smotherers in this sort of relationship. In either case, it is crucial that the smotherer backs off and gets his or her own life with a strict and unrelenting focus on multidimensional self-improvement. Oddly enough, Steve Martin the comedian wrote a novel about such a character who goes through a massive self-transformation. In the novel, the character is a weak, whiny young man named Jeremy who works on himself and gradually comes into mature and proud manhood. If you are the person who is the dumpster of someone else's toxic affection, the only way out typically is to remove yourself from their life, because that person is an addict and you are their drug.

For the third question, my Ogham say Yes, they think someone you used to know is throwing hexes your way. They provide Straif or Strife well-dignified, which is to say you will be fine, though basic natural magic measures to defeat them would be a good idea. Most of that energy is bouncing back at them and hitting them upside the head.
