I am happy to read your Ogham free of charge -- that's how I hone my divination skills -- but if you want to donate for it, I'll happily buy myself a book, a snack, or a cup of tea while on the town. Please only donate if you can absolutely afford it. I've been there. Your prayers for my continued success are welcome whether you donate or not! I take reading requests until 8pm Central Time (Chicago Illinois USA) on Sunday night.

Ogham readings are concluded for the week of May 22.  Please feel free to comment on existing threads and see you next week for more Ogham readings!

Hi Kimberly,

I've been pondering what sort of practical skills I might develop to help me weather the "long decline".

After reading the discussion over at JMG's blog, I feel like I had some synchronicities and a possible sign today about in what direction to go.

Did the sign I think I got early today mean what I think it does?

Thanks,

Jan

Huh, interesting!

The synchronicity and the possible sign had to do with plants. I have some gardening skills, and yesterday, after some plant-related things happening over the course of 48 hours, I arrived home to catch a stranger picking something out of my front yard. When I approached her, I saw it was rue. She didn't speak English very well, but the gist was she wanted the rue "for medicine" and had helped herself. She was apologetic about it, but I told her it was fine. (I have plenty of rue and I can't imagine somebody would liberate a few stalks of a stranger's rue "for medicine" if they didn't actually need it.)

Given that I had been thinking about long decline skills, I wondered if maybe I should focus on something like growing medicinal herbs (which I do to some very limited extent, but I could in theory do more). That's why I asked your Ogham.

But the Ogham said no, huh?

Now I have to ponder what is meant by "helping people let go of their attachments".

Hmmm.

Thanks for the advice....I may come back with a follow-up question next week!

This just keeps getting weirder!

I searched for "uses of rue" and one of the first sites I clicked on says:

"Rue herb which is also known as the ‘Herb of Grace’ or by its botanical name – Ruta graveolens has been cultivated and used for many centuries for its medicinal uses. The herb is a member of the Rutaceae family and the word Ruta comes from the Greek meaning ‘to set free’. That should give you a few clues to the uses of the rue herb.Essentially it helps set the body free from a variety of diseases and poisons."

The Herb of Grace. Setting free.

Now I don't know WHAT to think.
