I found out what happened with the college: they backed down, but the Ontario government just quietly passed a law requiring all colleges and universities in the province to make vaccines mandatory. The province isn't making it mandatory though: they are just telling the colleges and universities to do it.

Apparently they plan to do the same with hydro (electricity, not water) companies as well, since a number of them aren't willing to lose a sizable portion of their staff. It's increasingly looking like this will be a very tough winter for those of us who have the misfortune of living here...

Here the governor is forcing all educators and health care workers to get it. I know of dozens of people who are being increasingly backed into a corner -- get the injection or lose your job. My group is fighting back pretty hard. Not a day goes by where I am not providing people with resources so people can avoid the shots and testing. Can you get a religious exemption?

If you can expat to a saner nation, you should do it. This is the sort of policy that makes a failed state happen. I feel really sorry for people in New Zealand.

As soon as I get my mom to sign off on some paperwork I'll be a recognized American citizen; I'm not sure where I'll go yet, but I'm looking for jobs in some of the saner states. But the scary part is that even California's government is more sane than Ontario's right now....

IKR? I used to rue and lament the fact that Wisconsin is turning into a "red state". Now I'm starting to feel like that probably isn't so bad, after all. Besides, we're really more like a "magenta state": Purple with a distinct lean towards red.

Religious exemptions are quite limited here, and getting more and more restricted all the time. The other concern is that apparently I'd have to agree to take full responsibility if anyone I came in contact gets Covid, and I don't know what that will entail...

That is a very pretty photo, and I would like to know how your kitties are, both inside and out, if you don't mind.

We have a little grey cat who has been around a week. It is almost as big as Tru, who is quite perturbed at an interloper on what she views as her territory! (Tru is not allowed out without a leash and a human, though rarely she escapes.) The grey won't let us anywhere near it, but will come and eat on the porch. Today it let me pet Tru who was sitting in the window inside about five feet away, as close as it has let any of us come, without running away. Turning the doorknob caused it to bolt: I was hoping that hearing Tru and I talking to each other might help calm it if I opened the inner door a crack. I hope we can catch it before something hungry does.

I'll put an update on the blog soon!! Long story short is Shadow was neutered and he is doing great. All of my feral colony is fixed now... no more kittens!

I'm stuck in Melbourne. I can't leave, not because of the tyranny, but because I have family responsibilities in this house. Of other adult family members, one is elderly and supportive of Dan and lockdowns and rules, which I find inexplicable. The other is not, but is too frightened to resist the capricious and arbitrary tyranny we face.

What am I supposed to make of this predicament? It's maddening. If it were just me, I would have headed for the hills a year ago.

I totally feel you on this one. I find it irritating when people are like "Oh, you don't like the city/state/country you live in? Just move!" I am stuck in Illinois because my family is here. Also, I don't want to move: this is my home.

There isn't much you can do on the physical plane -- your government is tyrannical. I will pray for you with your permission. Do you have a spiritual practice and/or a banishing ritual? That is the number one thing I would suggest to nourish your spirit. From what I've heard, your government is such a bunch of demonically obsessed freaks (this is the honest truth of what I believe is going on, demonic obsession) they won't let people go outside. You can fight them by turning inward and strengthening yourself there, starting with the astral plane. When I do the Sphere of Protection every day, I tend to "see" landscapes represented by the different gods and goddesses I am invoking. After some practice, it honestly feels like I am standing wherever I imagine myself to be: on the seashore, in the desert, at the base of the temple. These kinds of imaginative calisthenics are excellent for the maintenance of mental hygiene, and if you can't do them because you have young kids, you might try taking them out of the context of magical ritual and asking the gods to guide you through the visualizations. I'd also suggest hoodoo baths if you have an anxiety attack and since you are confined in your home, doing some sacred homemaking stuff like thanking all of the objects and rooms who dutifully serve you every day so they are strengthened and encouraged along with you and your family.

Please do pray for me. I do perform a banishing ritual, the HLBRP, and have done so for more than a year, but I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes at my skill level. It definitely makes some difference.

These SOP landscapes sound fascinating. If you don't mind, I'd be very interested to learn about ways I could spice up the deity and elemental imagery of my SOP practice. Right now I just have a boring forest for Earth, a generic lakeside for Water, generic clouds and wind for Air, and a sun-baked open field for Fire.

I'm very sorry to hear about what you and your country are going through. And in light of what I just read about Australian mythology, I suspect you're in for a very rough future.

I've posted a comment to JMG's blog that's currently waiting for approval, but the summary is: I think Captain Cook has come for you, and the only way out could be unleashing the destructive side of the Rainbow Serpent, which may be necessary but won't be pretty.

To me, Captain Cook is a true hero, someone I would love to have a beer with and listen to his stories - and I don't have any connection to the ancestral gods of the Woiwurrung, nor do I think invoking them is a good idea. I have my own ancestral gods to worship.

Wow, no, I hadn't looked at that. Thank you. It makes a lot of sense -- I wrote my Demonic Infestation of the Left series based on what I felt happened in 2016. Very curious. Bob Dylan claimed to have sold his soul quite a long time ago yet he is still alive many years later... he never specified the party to whom he sold it though!

It also sounds like you have to really, truly mean it to sell your soul, and it's quite possible that Bob Dylan either made the story up because it sounds good or wasn't able to muster the full strength of will required to make it actually happen.

It's a definite maybe! I didn't put together the collapsing Neopagan scene as the catalyst or original invitation it took to get the demonic infestation. I also think the arrogant Progressivist atheism of the salary class opened them up to massive demonic influence.

I work at a small nonprofit and am not high enough up to make decisions about vaccination policy, but high enough to have access to restricted files. Just found this draft... note that it includes booster shots and outdoor masking. I'm really hoping I can use my (limited) influence to hold this off. I believe we have 3-4 staff, out of 20, who are unvaccinated. But, of course, no one has received a booster yet.

"Required Vaccinations: All staff and independent contractors will be required to be vaccinated. Exceptions to this policy are limited to those described below in Section 2.

Paid time off will be given for you to receive the vaccine. Failure to become vaccinated will result in termination of employment, unless you are specifically exempted by the Executive Director. This applies to booster shots as well. You should verify your date of vaccination to determine when you are eligible for the additional vaccines. You will need to receive your booster vaccine within 3 weeks of eligibility.

Exceptions: If you are currently working exclusively remotely, you may seek an exemption by making a written request to the Executive Director. However, should the requirements of the job change that would require in-person activities, the Executive Director has the discretion to require you to be vaccinated and adhere to the policy outlined here.

If you have a religious or medical objection (that would put you at risk) you may also seek an exemption by sending a written request with supporting documentation to the Executive Director who will explore all reasonable accommodations.

Masking at all times: Regardless of vaccination status, all employees and independent contractors must wear masks indoors and outdoors while engaging work. If you are not fully vaccinated, even with an exemption, you must wear an N-95 mask and cover any exhalation hole. Masks are required anywhere in the building, including in the restrooms, kitchen area, lobby, or any other common area, etc."
