I'm working through the CGD, one of the core elements of that curriculum is geomancy, and I'm now thinking about offering it for others. I don't want to do it just yet, since I still struggle a bit to get good readings for myself, but at some point I hope to offer it to those who want it.
Since you do divinations for anyone who wants one, how did you know when you were ready for your weekly Ogham offerings?
Thanks for asking. Once I had meditated through all the tree cards approximately 2.5 times (my method of meditation is to write my thoughts in my journal while I meditate) I created the website of my observations that you're probably familiar with, http://druidogham.wordpress.com/ Shortly after I made that, I put my shingle out there.
Geomancy seems pretty cool. I want to learn it. I'll definitely ask for a reading if you do that. My recommendation is to do them once a week for a limited time as I do, and don't worry too much if there's only a trickle at first.
There are 16 figures, so if I aim to meditate on each of them twice, that'll take me around a month. It'll probably take longer than that though, since I have a ton of other meditations I'm also exploring. My series on my natal chart is probably going to end up being a long one: my meditations on Neptune in Capricorn have already turned into a couple of essays, and so my evening meditations are spoken for for the next few months at a minimum...
Geomancy is really neat, and I'm finding it worth the effort, so if you want to learn, I think it's worth the while. The Druid Wands I've made are really nice tools, but it can also be done with coins, or a die, or anything which can make two different marks; which I think makes it an ideal form of divination for the Long Descent. I can't vouch for anything other than what's in the Celtic Golden Dawn yet, but JMG's written a lot on it.
If you do learn it, I'll be quite interested to see what your thoughts on it are!
Cool! I think geomancy tends to be more pragmatic than Ogham. Ogham is often like consulting an excellent Jungian psychologist who lives deep in your brain. Geomancy seems more in your face.
So far, at least when I get the readings, geomancy has been quite blunt and tends to say it exactly as it is, so I think you're right about that! Your Ogham have been far more gentle than my geomancy has been thus far.
Tarot is the worst I think for a direct answer. Ogham try to put it in the kindest way possible but at least they actually do answer. Tarot is like "No, I am the mysterious oracle, meditate on me and see if you can figure out what I am saying!"
So I work with the runes (very blunt, similar how Mollari describes geomancy), though I do have a couple tarot decks. I haven't worked with them yet, so I don't have the cards or their numbering memorized in any way.
We've talked a bit on other posts about current astral conditions and strange dreams. Last night I had a dream that I went to a very dark bar or nightclub called "Tarot 1620." When I woke up I had a very clear message to remember that phrase and that it was the 16th Tarot card and the 20th Tarot card. Looking online, it seems like that would be The Tower and Judgment. Seems ominous, but then I know very little about tarot! I will have to meditate tonight and see if I can remember any more of the dream and what it might indicate.
It does feel like things continue to ratchet up...
I just meditated on this dream tonight (after SOP, before prayer and divination). It took the form of scrying/visions. I realized that in my dream I never stepped inside the bar, I just saw the sign. During my meditation I pushed the door and went inside and nope - not doing that again. Not a good place and definitely did not feel safe; I wrote down what it was like in my journal but something is holding me back from describing it on the internet or ruminating on it any more. I was already leaving, but was jerked out of my meditation when the draft from my open window pulled my bedroom door open and then slammed it close. Scared the crud out of me. Runes confirm - it would not be good to meditate on that dream or that place again. I feel the need for a cold shower tonight, for sure. I want to get that out of my head before I go to sleep.
I'm watching the growing evidence for ADE, and also noting the fact my intuition is screaming at me in a way I've never felt before to avoid them. It is looking like a whole lot of instant karma...
I haven't seen any in-your-face evidence for ADE. The closest was a guy I know making the observation that vaccinated co-workers were calling in sick more often.
It's still summer, and this is usually the time when coronaviruses are least active. The UK and Israel having major Covid outbreaks is suggestive, as is the fact I know a few people who've gotten sick after getting the shots; nothing in your face yet, but I figure we'll know one way or the other by December.
I can vouch for that, Tarot es extremely blunt. To me it feels like a stern teacher that knows you better than you do just by glancing for a split second and couldn't care less if the truth makes you cry. I actually like that, I'm hard headed so I need hard knocking!
