Ogham Readings on Mondays
Feb. 1st, 2021 12:26 amSubmit your question or request for a general "what's up this week" reading and I will be happy to oblige!

I am happy to read your Ogham free of charge -- that's how I hone my divination skills -- but if you want to donate for it, I'll happily buy myself a book, a snack, or a cup of tea while on the town. Please only donate if you can absolutely afford it. I've been there. Your prayers for my continued success are welcome whether you donate or not!

Date: 2021-02-02 02:41 am (UTC)This week, I did a three card reading for you.
You drew Coll for the You position, well-dignified. Coll is the Hazelnut bush/tree and means Wisdom. This means that overall you will be in a balanced mental state this week and though you may be tempted to either clam up (not enough wisdom) or overshare (mistaken wisdom) information, you will instead share the right information at the right time.
For the Situation position, you drew Ur, which is Heather, ill-dignified. Intimate relationships may be strained this week, meaning there is either not enough intimacy/loneliness or perhaps a feeling of being smothered.
For the Lesson or Outcome, you drew Beith, Birch, well-dignified. Birch means Birth and indicates you'll have the beginning of a powerful new project, situation, or outlook this week that will be of benefit in the future.

Date: 2021-02-01 07:34 am (UTC)Happy Monday! My questions are:
Should I start using the names of the Druid deities when I do the SoP?
Should I have my natal chart looked at by an astrologer?
Thank you for your time.

Date: 2021-02-02 02:44 am (UTC)As to the astrologer question, they give me Onn, which is Gorse or Community well-dignified. This to me says it will be well worth it to contact a qualified astrologer and look into your chart. I am thinking of doing the same thing soon!

Date: 2021-02-01 06:06 pm (UTC)You're predictions we're true for last week. Thanks so much for the valuable info. Glad to hear so many new students have signed on with you.
For this week, I'm struck at a crossroads. One path leads to a more self focused life, where I focus on my own development (spiritual contemplation, intellectual depth, career/finances) whereas the other sees my life take the backseat for others so they can prosper. Is my first path a desire stemming from fear like others around me have stated (Am I just avoiding family life)? Or is it really the path my higher self/the gods want me to go?

Date: 2021-02-02 02:52 am (UTC)Here are the questions I asked the Ogham:
Is the first path one of cowardice?
Is the first path properly in tune with the Higher Self and the will of the gods?
They say No on both counts. Curiously, they give me two Forfedha, which are the Ogham's equivalent of major arcana (important) tarot cards. They give me Uilleand (Honeysuckle, generosity) for the first question, ill-dignified. This seems to say that the first path is a noble one, but the second card, Koad (Grove, Confluence) ill-dignified signifies you are assuming too many variables about the path ahead. I would meditate on whether or not family life and the first path are mutually exclusive.

Date: 2021-02-02 04:28 pm (UTC)Sunk cost?
Date: 2021-02-01 07:15 pm (UTC)Re: Sunk cost?
Date: 2021-02-02 02:57 am (UTC)They say Yes. They give me Tinne, which stands for Holly or Defense, well-dignified. Tinne is often a "cruel to be kind" approach that means pruning off the overgrowth because it is killing the plant. Resilience is the goal and investing in this project means siphoning off more time and energy that would be better off saved and spent elsewhere.
I don't envy you -- it's a tough road ahead. May you be blessed and have vast reserves of determination when you most need it.
Intentions
Date: 2021-02-01 08:06 pm (UTC)Re: Intentions
Date: 2021-02-02 03:10 am (UTC)I asked them two questions for you:
1. Is he really that swamped? They give me Gort, which means Ivy or Perseverance, ill-dignified which is a No. Ivy is a clinging plant and I think this is the Ogham telling you not to cling, because Perseverance will eventually win out, but if you crowd him with your intentions, it will act like a colony of ivy toppling a wall, not good for him or you. So the Ogham are essentially saying to stay cool and play the long game.
2. Should I be patient and wait it out? They give me Oir, which is Epiphany or Spindle, which is a big time Yes, plus the previous card says the same thing. You will have a realization or epiphany about him if you are able to take a bird's eye view of the situation, and chances are he might have an epiphany about you. My suggestion is to take up discursive meditation while you wait for it to play out, and do the repetitive, undramatic, necessary work on yourself that almost nobody these days is willing to do. Basically, discursive meditation is the mental equivalent of carrying buckets of water uphill thousands of times for the kung fu master who sits at the top, twirling his white mustache.

Date: 2021-02-02 12:59 am (UTC)My question this week is: what is the meaning of my dream or what do I need to understand about it? Thanks.

Date: 2021-02-02 03:20 am (UTC)For me, dreams are absolutely a testing ground where I am tasked with making moral, upright decisions just like I am during the day. When I was younger, I almost always dreamed of fighting or being forced to escape a haunted house/school. Nowadays, the dreams aren't as combative (though the fighting and anxieties definitely show up) and the key difference is I know I am being tested whereas in the past, all I did was react to being attacked. The end goal of both my nightly and daytime adventures is that I am a better person than I was yesterday, if only by the slightest bit. It's a modest goal, but as the witch said as she peed into the ocean, every little bit counts.

Date: 2021-02-02 02:24 am (UTC)How are you doing? JMG is back so I guess many of us are reading and writing this week.
May I have a what's up this week reading?
Thanks.

Date: 2021-02-02 03:32 am (UTC)For this week, for You, they give me Ruis, Rue or Regret well-dignified. This means that you'll have the benefit of a mistake you made in the past and that you'll avoid making a nasty gaffe because you're "not doing that anymore" as I like to say.
People like to say "it sucks getting old" but what totally does not suck about getting old is being wise and avoiding naive mistakes! https://kimberlysteele.dreamwidth.org/12184.html
For the Situation position, meaning influences from the outside, you have Nuin, ill-dignified. Nuin is Communication and usually indicates a wide net, for instance, you'll spend too much time on the internet or have a negative interaction with someone who is far away this week.
For the Lesson of this week position, they give me Mor, which means a great change or Sea Change. Something big is changing in your life, and it isn't always a physical reality that is changing. For me, Mor often signifies the changes in my personality that have me quite re-wired compared to five or more years ago because of Druidry.

Date: 2021-02-02 04:37 am (UTC)My friend JBT is leaving her church to start attending mine. Is this going to be a good thing for her? What about for me? (Lots more story but I'm sure your Ogham already knows it.)
I'll repost next week if you're sleepies.

Date: 2021-02-02 06:22 am (UTC)My Ogham say that Yes, it is going to be a good thing for her. They give me Mor, which means Sea Change, well-dignified. Generally, the new church will benefit her greatly.
For you, it is also good. They give me Quert well-dignified, which means Apple or Delight. This represents the simple joy of camaraderie. You can relax and enjoy church together! Nice to know that religion does not have to be all seriousness all the time, I think.
