Ogham Readings on Saturdays
Feb. 14th, 2025 10:42 pm
I am happy to read your Ogham free of charge -- that's how I hone my divination skills. Please limit your reading request to four or fewer Ogham cards: though this can take many forms, here are some common ones (all of them are basically combos of 4 cards):
-a single three card reading for the week or month and a one-off, one card reading
-four questions about four separate items that require one answer (card) per item
-a one card reading to answer a specific question and a three card for a more nuanced question
-Two separate readings, two cards a piece exploring the positives and negatives of two different choices
-a one card reading to answer a specific question and a three card for a more nuanced question
-Two separate readings, two cards a piece exploring the positives and negatives of two different choices
I am happy to do Ogham readings confidentially via email -- just email me at k steele studio at gmail during the allotted time/before deadline. I cannot answer health questions. If you have a question about health or another sensitive, private matter, provide a bunch of non-identifying information and the Ogham will be able to figure it out even if I don't. I'm serious... the Ogham actually tend to "know" things without me being privy to what is going on.
Please note I take time off during Solstices and Equinoxes for Druid stuff and because sometimes I simply need a break.
My next planned break is from Saturday, March 22, 2025 - Friday, March 28, 2025.

Date: 2025-02-15 06:47 pm (UTC)You drew three cards for this week.
For the You position, you drew Luis or Protection ill-dignified. First, Protection in any dignity is a danger card in my Ogham, and unfortunately you've got two of my Ogham's four "danger" cards in this reading. The danger cards are Luis/Protection, Tinne/Defense, Ngetal/Health, and Huath/Obstacles. Often when we think we are protecting ourselves, we are only doing so superficially, for instance, someone who amasses a great deal of money only to lose his own integrity is unprotected in the worst way. In this case, the Ogham caution you to be careful of physical danger this week and also to contemplate what true protection means.
For the Situation, you drew Nuin or Communication ill-dignified. Straight up, this card is quite direct: you'll likely be frustrated by a failure of communication this week, whether that's person to person, a feeling of isolation, or feeling so busy and distracted that you're not truly connecting with your world. Another possibility is the "kill the messenger" impulse being directed at you or inflicted by you. Overall, try to moderate and minimize screen time, be prepared for problematic technology and travel, and try to avoid narcissistic self-retreat and the idea that anyone can survive metaphorically alone on his own island.
For the Outcome, you drew Huath or Obstacles well-dignified. Huath is the application of Martial force or what is called "mojo", think of the fiery, warlike energy it takes to get anything done. You've got a good balance of exactly enough mojo, but the scary part is that you might need it. Life's dramas take a great deal out of us and the Ogham think some drama will pop up this week where you will need to apply decisive yet balanced force. Be ready for it and ask yourself what being a hero means in any given situation -- hopefully they are wrong and it will be a drama free week.

Date: 2025-02-15 06:58 pm (UTC)You drew three cards this week.
For the You card, you drew Onn or Community well-dignified. I notice you've been drawing this one a great deal lately and it points to your "people" being a fine and dependable group. Family isn't limited to blood as you well know. It's never too early nor too late to say Thank You.
For the Situation, you drew Oír or Epiphany ill-dignified. This is the Ogham's way of saying you need to think of the future with a cool, calculating eye and moderate reactions. Yes, things tend to work themselves out, and worrying oneself into a froth never helped anyone. They are saying put what you can in place but don't allow worry to take over your life.
For the Outcome, you drew Quert or Delight well-dignified. Appreciation of the small is this week's theme. By being grateful for what others take wholly (or nearly wholly) for granted, you raise the vibe of your tiny corner of your world and show how to live by example rather than yakking about it. This kind of gratitude and the courtesies and kindnesses that go with it are the primary healing force in the world.

Date: 2025-02-15 06:56 pm (UTC)a) I recently applied for something. Will I get it with the attempt?
b) What will happen if I move ahead with the morning prayers I'm considering adding to my schedule?

Date: 2025-02-15 07:01 pm (UTC)My Ogham seem to think it's a Yes on A. They give Ruis or Regret well-dignified, and that means that eventually you may come to regret A if you choose it, so definitely meditate on what happens if A is successful and what it looks like if it goes wrong.
For B, they give Oír or Epiphany well-dignified. They think the prayers will help, especially in your journey of self-realization. Remember that prayer is about listening as much as it is about speaking. Always leave room for the "little voice" that tries to tell you something in prayer. Often this comes from the gut.

Date: 2025-02-15 10:18 pm (UTC)You drew three cards for the upcoming period.
For the You position, you drew Nuin or Communication well-dignified. You are likely to get your points across loud and clear and at the right time. This is also a card of working around technology and transportation being difficult, so be prepared. It is a fortuitous time for making new contacts, publicizing yourself and what you are into, and pulling into the light issues that may have caused resentment or misunderstanding from the past.
For the Situation, you drew Ruis or Regret ill-dignified. Outside forces are conspiring to try to hit you with guilt. Maybe it is something you've done, maybe it isn't. If you are culpable, keep in mind that marinating in guilt, shame, and sorrow does not change anything, in fact, it just creates a bunch of negative emotion that draws additional negative energy. Instead, firmly to resolve not to do that anymore and don't buy into the guilt trap that needs your consent in order to operate.
For the Outcome, you drew Eadha or Limits well-dignified. By letting some projects, items, and people go, or at the very least postponing them, you orient yourself towards a much happier and ironically more fulfilling life. This is an excellent period to declutter, to weed your schedule, and to gently say NO to those who would spend your time and energy for you, including unseen forces such as astral pyramids and thirsty egregores.

Date: 2025-02-15 09:46 pm (UTC)I hope this message finds you well.
My questions this week:
Is there a better option for W? If yes, how difficult will it be to find?
I am frustrated with my job and am considering telling my best friend/boss that I will complete my current tasks and if they do not hire someone to do all of the training that I have to do, I will move on. I was hired as a salesperson, told that I would not have to train and I spend 60% of my week on the phone and traveling to do trainings. I care a great deal for my customer and want to be sure they succeed, but the current situation is too much. What does the Ogham say about me changing my situation?
Thank you very much.
Have a great rest of the weekend.

Date: 2025-02-15 10:23 pm (UTC)My Ogham say there isn't a better option for W. They give Ur or Intimacy ill-dignified, and this indicates that the grass only looks greener on the other side. There isn't the connection at this point that you would need.
For the situation with your friend/boss, they say it is ripe for change. They give Mór or Sea, which is to say all forces flow towards you getting the changes you want. My husband has been through many jobs since we began our near-25 year marriage and from my experience, he has gotten excellent deals when he was willing to walk away if they could not meet his demands. Good luck.

Date: 2025-02-15 10:54 pm (UTC)To review: I took Tinne as a call to whittle down my travel plans as much as possible, making the distinction between limens vs limes. The riptide which I personally liken an ill dignified sea to is best dealt with by swimming parallel to the shore until the seaward cuurent ebbs, and then persevering towards the somewhat further shore. As it turns out, I could pack much lighter by giving away the bulk of the luggage as gifts. The timing of the trip became clearer once I had to think through the implications of alternative dates, and playing within the resulting box yielded a decent iternary.
To ask: What is it that I need to know this week, according to the Ogham?

Date: 2025-02-16 12:50 am (UTC)You drew three cards this week.
For the You position, you drew Coll or Wisdom well-dignified. This card, whether well- or ill-dignified, is a warning to keep your mouth shut at the appropriate time. It's definitely OK to say "I don't know" even if you do technically know. By tailoring your outward persona to the person and the place, you show consideration and sensitivity as well as manners.
For the Situation, you drew Koad or Confluence ill-dignified. This week may produce the sort of unpleasant situation that you cannot extricate yourself from but that you can at least learn to prevent in the future. I have problems with this myself as I have difficulty being "mean" and saying No.
For the Outcome, you drew Eadha or Limits well-dignified. You have a good sense of what you can and cannot control this week. Of course you need to know what is under your jurisdiction, otherwise you are always barking up the wrong tree. This card points to having to enforce some limits, and despite its good dignity, it does not guarantee a cakewalk. It shows you'll show uncommon sense and fairness in sussing out those limits.

Date: 2025-02-16 12:57 am (UTC)You drew three cards this week.
For the You position, you drew Koad or Confluence ill-dignified. This isn't the week where things go off smoothly: expect delays and curveballs and try to prepare for anything. You cannot control everything, but you can control your reaction and to some degree the emotions themselves. Try to show the same forgiveness to yourself that you show to others.
For the Situation, you drew Gort or Perseverance well-dignified. You have strong foundations in place and they are built far tougher than most -- that means you should replace worry with gratitude. It is not easy to build upon the good when there is evil all around demanding so much attention. The only way through is to build on the good and to use evil as an example of what not to do.
For the Outcome, you drew Ioho or Grace ill-dignified. Like many of us, you are overworked and you have too many pots on one stove. You will have to demand and enforce rest and let some things be damned. The greater lesson here is that we must let go of some activity so we can prioritize other activities, and sometimes the activity to be prioritized is rest.

Date: 2025-02-16 01:46 am (UTC)Thanks for the update!
You and the family drew three cards this week.
For the You position, you drew Onn or Community well-dignified. It's interesting that this card has come up a second time in two weeks. This is the Ogham saying that it is a fine time to pay it forward and continue the chain of good will through your network.
For the Situation, you drew Ur or Intimacy well-dignified. This is a good week to impart lessons of tact, manners, decorum, and reservation. As much as many like to insist that being close means letting it all hang out all the time, we really must tailor and curate our personalities to each person and situation, not only for their sake, but for our own. Sometimes this means not saying what is on your mind. Of course too much internalization of potential drama can be toxic -- it is important to say what's bothering you once you've had a chance to think it over.
For the Outcome, you drew Ruis or Regret ill-dignified. Shame rears its ugly head and/or someone does something regrettable and not very smart. The best approach here is to say "I'm not proud of that, and that is why I don't do it anymore" and resolve with great diligence to fulfill that promise. It's easy to forget this world is a big series of tests and that in this Dark Age of materialism and septic intentions flying about everywhere, it is very easy to go astray. Everyone has to start somewhere and regret is often that starting point.
Having Doubts
Date: 2025-02-16 01:14 am (UTC)Thank you again for hosting this service, I hope all is well with you. My questions are thus: I'm considering going back to school to get an MA in Library Science in order to become a librarian. I've initially received encouraging signs to do so, but lately I've been plagued by doubts. Is following through with this plan the right call? Why am I having doubts despite promising signs? Thank you in advance for your aid and advice, I sincerely appreciate the time it takes. May you be blessed.
Sincerely,
Sanctuary of the Rose and Chalice
Re: Having Doubts
Date: 2025-02-16 01:53 am (UTC)Thanks!
My Ogham think you need to become a librarian and that you should get the MA in Library Science come what may. I know it most likely seems counterintuitive, but in my own case, I actually have a degree in music that I use every day, despite most music degrees being useless.
For becoming a librarian, they give Straif or Resilience well-dignified. For most people, becoming a librarian would not be a good long-term plan. For you, it seems fated. You were meant to be a librarian in this incarnation and it cannot be denied. As long as you stay a librarian, the Ogham think you'll always be able to survive if not thrive.
For getting an MA in Library Science, it's another Yes. They give Koad or Confluence well-dignified, once again reinforcing that this is meant to be. Outside forces and those within you will conspire to make this happen as they conspired to make me a music teacher who composes music for Orphic hymns. It's not a degree I would widely recommend, especially not a Master's, but in your case it's full sail ahead.
