Ogham Readings on Saturdays
Sep. 13th, 2024 09:21 pm
I am happy to read your Ogham free of charge -- that's how I hone my divination skills. Please limit your reading request to four or fewer Ogham cards: though this can take many forms, here are some common ones (all of them are basically combos of 4 cards):
-a single three card reading for the week or month and a one-off, one card reading
-four questions about four separate items that require one answer (card) per item
-a one card reading to answer a specific question and a three card for a more nuanced question
-Two separate readings, two cards a piece exploring the positives and negatives of two different choices
-a one card reading to answer a specific question and a three card for a more nuanced question
-Two separate readings, two cards a piece exploring the positives and negatives of two different choices
I am happy to do Ogham readings confidentially via email -- just email me at k steele studio at gmail during the allotted time/before deadline. I cannot answer health questions. If you have a question about health or another sensitive, private matter, provide a bunch of non-identifying information and the Ogham will be able to figure it out even if I don't. I'm serious... the Ogham actually tend to "know" things without me being privy to what is going on.
Please note I take time off during Solstices and Equinoxes for Druid stuff and because sometimes I simply need a break.
My next planned break is the week of Saturday, September 21.

Date: 2024-09-15 12:53 am (UTC)You drew three cards, all well-dignified. Though I would like to say an all well-dig reading guarantees a perfect week, unfortunately that has never been the case. It does show a high chance of triumphing over the week's challenges.
For the You position, you drew Ngetal or Hygiene. This is one of the danger cards of my Ogham and it means there could be a health scare or some danger to your health -- luckily, it is one where you will have a great deal of luck and strength. This card also talks about knowing your own limits and knowing when to push them gently in order to improve.
For the Situation, you drew Fearn or Bridge. This is a good week to build bridges, make new alliances, discover new ways, and to forge paths towards a better future. Fearn means you will be diplomatic instead of dismissive, taking a not-so-perfect person or situation and making the best out of them.
For the Outcome, you drew Muin or Harvest, which means you are seeing some logical results from thinking and acting in a positive manner. It may not seem like much right now, but if you take the small good and appreciate it, it amplifies into a mighty force over time.

Date: 2024-09-15 01:11 am (UTC)Happy Birthday!
Your new year brings an all well-dignified reading. Though I would like to say it means smooth sailing, this usually is not the way an all well-dig reading goes. For instance, my father died in 2023, a year where I made an all well-dig forecast for myself. All well-dig readings predict transcendence and growth, both of which can be painful processes.
For the You position, you drew Eadha or Limits. Though you have many constraints, you know how to count your blessings while working within them instead of pining for things to be better. Use this year to stand your ground when you know you are right -- flexibility is great but do not allow yourself to be pushed around. There can be grace in not being willing to budge.
For the Situation, you drew Koad or Confluence. Much of the good fortune of the year will be a result of what you have done or put in place. Not all of it of course. This is a good opportunity to step back and look at what others have contributed... and what they have not. What workarounds have you had to do in order to get by? Which ones failed and which ones worked out?
For the Outcome, you drew Onn or Community. You have found your niche and you are establishing your place in it. The ties you build now will last a very long time. You are making ties with the land itself and the land appreciates that. Most humans are not (yet) able to talk to the land even though the land would like us to start.

Date: 2024-09-14 03:04 pm (UTC)1. What do I need to know to make the best of the next 2 weeks? 2 cards should suffice.
2. I expect the next few months will be trying on me. What is the one thing the Ogham recommend I work on to thrive during this time period?
3. Should I attend fitness classes regularly during this same period?

Date: 2024-09-15 01:26 am (UTC)My Ogham give you Saille or Sensitivity well-dignified and Nuin or Communication ill-dignified for the next two weeks. You may feel a great deal more connected to your feminine side (Saille, ruled by Aphrodite) and this may result in some friction with your analytical, masculine side (Nuin, ruled by Hermes). This is a good opportunity to recharge your etheric body via Aphrodite awareness -- by being quietly aware of your surroundings and expressing gratitude through deeds as well as words, you can repair both human relationships and your relationships with the spirits of place. Nuin, however, means that you may feel fatigue and irritation when you are forced to be indoors or in stuffy environments for long periods of time. It also talks about machines behaving badly and travel and shopping being inconvenient and troublesome.
For what to work on during the next few months, the Ogham give Onn or Community well-dignified. The mistake here would be to assume the Ogham are talking entirely about your human community. "Community" is also the spirits of the land, your own higher self and Holy Guardian Angel (two separate beings) and the ecosystem of spirits we all carry with us wherever we go. The Ogham are telling all of my querents to start talking to the spirits of the land. Fake it until you make it. It seems someone wants to talk to us...
My Ogham like you doing fitness classes in this period. They give Gort or Perseverance well-dignified, which means you'll make a good start of a new habit that will last a long time.

Date: 2024-09-14 03:31 pm (UTC)I have 3 yes/no questions this week.
1. Am I interpreting that dream message correctly (or was it just a dream)?
2. I had an idea for an offering, is it acceptable?
3. For my husband's continuing work issue, is his current strategy a good one?
Thanks!
Feedback:
I didn't ask anything last week because I was in the ER with that tooth. Remember that tooth that was bothering me back in June? The one they argued over whether it needed a root canal? Your Ogham seemed to suggest it did but the root canal would go well (Huath well-dignified as the outcome for that week), the endodontist said it didn't so we didn't do a root canal at that time.
It started hurting again, I went to the dentist, it continued to give confusing test results, but my regular dentist was out of the office and I saw an older guy who was covering. He said that despite the confusing results, he figured it did need a root canal. The hygienist thought I should get antibiotics and went to ask the dentist but he said, nah not yet. Hygienist came back and said: "Call when the pain gets worse." Love how she said when, not if. Problem: That was a Thursday.
The pain got unbearable on Saturday, and my husband said I wasn't thinking straight. I called the dentist's emergency line but they hadn't called back by their official closing time, and urgent care was going to close an hour later, so I went to urgent care. Urgent care sent me to the ER (what I was trying to avoid by going to urgent care... All they did was poke my sore face and say "Go to the ER, we'll tell them to expect you"). The ER doc gave me antibiotics and painkillers and apologized for the urgent care who, in her opinion, should really have just done that instead of sending me to the ER.
Then, the local pharmacy does not carry the painkiller the ER had prescribed. So I had to call the ER front desk and say, "Look, my husband can take care of everything on the weekend, but I have to be functional on Monday, so can you please send them a different prescription so I can think straight till I have my root canal?" And they did...but...navigating the automated answering service to even get to the front desk to leave that message was very difficult when I was so foggy due to the pain.
On the ER discharge papers they say, "Call if you have any questions," but they just give that number that sends you to the automated maze. There's no way most newly discharged sick or injured people ever even choose the right answers to even get to the ER front desk.
So anyway then I had the root canal on Tuesday afternoon and it did seem to go well. The endodontist said "I'm sure glad you're on antibiotics" and that the root was clearly "not right" but also was not yet completely dead, thus the extreme pain and confusing test results. My mouth still hurt a bit that evening, but by morning I was fine.
So: As your Ogham seemed to say, that tooth did need a root canal and it does seem to have gone as well as it could given the limits of the situation.
Thanks again!

Date: 2024-09-15 01:42 am (UTC)Yikes! I'm glad you came out OK. It sounds like that hygienist needs a raise and a promotion...
My Ogham say Yes, you are interpreting the dream correctly. They give Muin or Harvest, and this is another word for Consequences or Karma. This dream is showing you what has happened and/or will happen because of certain actions set in place.
For the offering, No. 2, my Ogham don't care for it. They give Duir or Gifts ill-dignified, which is never entirely bad, but the gift may not be properly appreciated, it could be the wrong thing/wrong place/wrong time, or any number of snafus. They say you should rethink it and ask again.
For your husband's strategy, they don't like it. They give Luis or Protection ill-dignified, which means there are vulnerabilities both seen and unseen. He may be naive about what is going on or the opposite, overly pessimistic, or an unsavory combo of both. He should look at various aspects of this situation in discursive meditation if he is willing.

Date: 2024-09-15 01:52 am (UTC)You're the third or fourth all well-dignified reading this week! Though all well-dignified readings look like a guarantee of the perfect on the surface, they are anything but. Every now and then I have a golden, perfect day on an all well-dig reading but it is pretty rare. Expect challenges and annoyances where you will be well-equipped to be graceful and mature in your decision-making.
For the You card, you drew Ngetal or Hygiene. This one can signify danger in my Ogham no matter what the dignity, so I will give you my usual advice about being moderate in health matters and risk adverse this week. Other than that, Ngetal talks about a healthy balance in knowing where you end and others begin -- you have a good sense of when to get involved and when to stay away plus all of the degrees in-between. Compare to younger years when this was not nearly so easy!
For the Situation, you drew Uilleand or Generosity. This is one of the finest cards in the Ogham deck (it's actually the very last card of 25) and it shows you how the gods smile upon the generous of heart no matter what their denomination or lack thereof. This is your week to look at generous people and notice that the truly generous shine, and I am not talking about those who do it for show. They never genuinely lack despite giving so much away.
For the Outcome, you drew Koad or Confluence. The Ogham say you should try and perceive how good you have it. Though this was not entirely your doing, much of it would not exist without you. Don't rest entirely upon your laurels, give credit where credit is due, but also take a moment to appreciate what you've built. You deserve it.

Date: 2024-09-15 02:20 am (UTC)You drew three cards this week.
For the You card, you drew Coll or Wisdom ill-dignified. It's crucial to keep your mouth shut at the right time this week -- if you feel like it's a good idea to speak your mind or spill the beans, think again because it's probably not. This is a week for quiet, behind the scenes work and diligence in routines. This card can also indicate having to suffer someone's foolishness.
For the Situation, you drew Straif or Resilence well-dignified. You are prepared for what comes your way this week, and this is due primarily to your level head and your refusal to go to extremes in either direction. True resilience is mental, not material. There are plenty of people with lots of possessions who aren't at all resilient. Knowing and respecting limits is the foundation of your resilience.
For the Outcome, you drew Eadha or Limits well-dignified. You have become much stronger as you have become aware of your own limits and the limits of the world around you. This is a good week to look at your human relationships through the lens of awareness of limits -- I will bet your relationships are much better for these unspoken limits. Limits give us power and confidence in decision making because our perception becomes nuanced while gaining balance.
