Ogham Readings on Mondays
Sep. 21st, 2020 11:10 amSubmit your question or request for a general "what's up this week" reading and I will be happy to oblige!

I am happy to read your Ogham free of charge -- that's how I hone my divination skills -- but if you want to donate for it, I'll happily buy myself a book, a snack, or a cup of tea while on the town.

Date: 2020-09-21 05:38 pm (UTC)I follow your site from reading JMG for
years..
I love all the good works you are doing.
I love your essays, I have been reading all of them from the beginning.
I would like to ask a question, but I am
not familiar with Ogham, so I am not sure
if it is for yes or no questions, or can it tell things like 'what is blocking me from
accomplishing my goals?'
I have been stopped/blocked from having
any motivation for a few years now.
If it helps to know, I have been doing the SoP for over a year now.
I do 'add' (and banish the lack thereof) about motivation for accomplishing goals within the SoP but so
far I have not noticed anything.
Thankyou, I appreciate it very much.

Date: 2020-09-22 02:42 am (UTC)Thanks so much for being such a loyal reader and for your kind compliments.
I did a three card reading for you to help you get some perspective on what is blocking you from accomplishing your goals:
The first card that symbolizes You is Gort or Ivy. It is ill-dignified which means you are either too successful in one area of your life and that's keeping you from understanding what direction is your truest desire or it is the opposite imbalance, which means you're spread too thin. I often pull Gort ill-dignified when I am under financial strain or stressed out.
The second card is the Situation, and that card is Ruis well-dignified. Ruis is the Elder tree, and well-dignified it is the power of regret. Regret can be a very good force in our lives because it keeps us from doing stupid stuff that previously got us in trouble. Ruis is the School of Hard Knocks -- been there, done that, bought the T-shirt, won't be needing to learn that again. I would ask you to do some serious discursive meditation on times when you made good decisions, both large and small, and think deeply about how you helped yourself and/or others. How can you build on those large and small successes when you are faced with similar situations? What instincts did you feel were guiding you at those times?
The third card is Nuin, Communication, ill-dignified, so that is one of two imbalances. It's either the tendency to be too public with yourself or too private/shy if you've got something to express. Nuin in my system is the Gingko Biloba tree, the ancient species that is the only one of its kind and has been here for 240 million years. It is also a folk remedy to assist memory and I find it is sacred to the god Hermes. It is the lesson to be learned in this case, so my suggestion would be to think about the spirit in which you communicate to the outside world and what could be learned about that before your Personality's next incarnation.

Date: 2020-09-22 03:34 pm (UTC)I do appreciate it.
I guess I have some thinking/meditating to do.. as far as communicating to the world,
well, I don't at all. I am more or less
isolated for many years, so I am not sure how
to think about that one.
and Regrets, I've had a few, that is for certain.
Well, I will do my best to try and figure it
out.
Thanks again.

Date: 2020-09-21 07:34 pm (UTC)Question- Will I be hired for the job position I interviewed for last week?
(I went through a barrage of interviews recently for an internal position, so I'm curious).

My question is: Should I become a Druid?
Thank you for your time.

Date: 2020-09-21 10:34 pm (UTC)This is going to sound funny, but I would love it if you could ask the fews how they perceive our relationship (by which I mean the relationship between myself and Ogham (not between you and me! :D)). I have my interpretation, don't feel I can ask directly, and would be interested in what they have to say through you. Thanks!

Date: 2020-09-22 02:53 am (UTC)They give me Quert, well-dignified for the first card, and as I explained to the previous poster that is a few of good humor and happiness. It's in the You position so that is to say they enjoy your sense of humor. The second position is Tinne, well -dignified and that's the Situation card. It means Defense, so I would assume this means the Ogham feel protective toward you and also implies the importance of divination as a protective measure to help us make good decisions in life. The third card is Coll, Wisdom, reversed and I think that means we shouldn't guru-ize/dogmatize the Ogham and take everything they say with zero grains of salt. Christians tend to make a bad mistake with taking the Bible literally and worshipping it instead of the God behind it, in the same way, our lesson should be to use the Ogham as a tool and not mistake it for God.

Date: 2020-09-22 06:16 pm (UTC)I thought I'd ask the question above because JMG's always saying "do a system the way it's written" and when Ogham and I didn't seem to be communicating and I went on my merry way with the Ogham-inspired system, I seemed to be NOT following JMG's instructions for the DMH work. Heh.
I'll keep your reading in the back of my mind (and shall go write it down in my divination notebook) as I weigh the benefits of following said instructions vs. not.
Perhaps I'm the one who needs to appreciate Ogham's sense of humor, recognize its defensive-space accuracy, and ... hmmm, not sure how to turn reversed Coll into something I can do, but I'll meditate on it!

Date: 2020-09-23 12:26 am (UTC)Relocation
Date: 2020-09-22 03:56 am (UTC)I was wondering what the fews have to say about my and my two grown children (who are living with me) about us relocating. I'm most interested in the timing, although I don't know if that is something the Oghams divulge.
Thanks as always. P.S. Really anticipating your Sacred Homemaking book.
Re: Relocation
Date: 2020-09-22 05:28 am (UTC)My Ogham give me three fews on this one. The one symbolizing you and your children is Beith (birch) ill-dignified. I took this to mean that now (the next few weeks) is not the time to make a hasty move. Beith imbalanced means that there is either too many directions you are going in or that there are too few, meaning that you need to think your relocation over a bit more before you do it.
The second card they give me for the Situation is Luis, Protection, well-dignified. In the traditional system Luis is the Rowan tree and in mine it is the Maple. This is VERY good and indicates that you've got higher powers and your own Holy Guardian Angels/higher selves looking out for you, and they will be guiding you on what to do and when to do it via synchronicities, instincts, and signs.
The final card is Phagos, which is Knowledge or Mastery. I don't read the Forfedha as well or ill dignified: it's too complicated for that. For instance, heroin addicts often know everything there is to know about their own addictions, yet they remain locked in addiction.
Phagos represents life lessons you will learn from having to relocate and understanding the many reasons why you feel compelled to relocate. The tree is the Beech and I think in this case it has to do with notions of security and safety and what these things mean to you and your kids.
