Ogham Readings on Sundays
Aug. 5th, 2023 10:21 pm
Hi Everyone,
I am happy to read your Ogham free of charge -- that's how I hone my divination skills. I take reading requests until 8pm Central Time (Chicago Illinois USA) on Sunday night. Though I am flattered that people want readings after the deadline, I decline reading requests made after 8pm Central Time on Sunday night without exception.
Please note I will be taking off the week of September 10, 2023. Readings will resume as usual September 17, 2023.
For a more in depth look into how I read and interpret the Ogham's symbols, please visit my website druidogham.wordpress.com.
I am currently trying to minimize my use of PayPal. If you'd like to make a donation, I would be grateful if you did it here:
http://buymeacoffee.com/kimberlysteele
Your prayers of blessing to the deity/deities of your choice are welcome whether or not you can donate.

Date: 2023-08-06 04:01 am (UTC)1. What do I need to know to make the best of my next numerological cycle? Your Ogham knows what time period I'm referring to.
2. I came up with a new affirmation I could use. It's an odd one. What does your Ogham think of me using it?
Week 32
Date: 2023-08-06 05:18 am (UTC)1. What do I need to know in order to make the best out of this week?
2. I would like another reading for a question that I asked in Week 24: I am thinking of purchasing a subscription "A" that I consider a donation/charity; may the Ogham comment on this possible purchase?
Back then, you told me: "The Ogham say to hold off on subscription A for the time being. They provide Ur or Intimacy ill-dignified."
Thanks!

Date: 2023-08-06 01:57 pm (UTC)Hope all is well with you.
Wondering if your Ogham have a point of view about pursuing Option A and/or Option B. [They are not mutually exclusive; both could be done].
Thank you,

Date: 2023-08-06 02:19 pm (UTC)To review: The reading (Luis, Gort, Quert, all ill dignified) felt like a description of my plans for last week. I had gone full throttle with work to pay down debts, and precisely an aspect of farm plans that I have been holding off until said debts were paid down cropped up. I was heading there anyways, the next swing at the monkey bars. These triple ill dignified readings are like a tree falling on the path ahead disastrously, yet precisely bridging a stream that would have required a long detour to overcome.
To ask: What is it that I need to know this week, according to the Ogham?

Date: 2023-08-06 03:19 pm (UTC)I have two questions this week:
1) what can the Ogham tell me about the meaning of my dream?
2) any guidance on changing my prayer routine?
Thanks!

Date: 2023-08-06 08:31 pm (UTC)Thanks for last week's reading for August, btw.
So think week a totally different questions....
Just about a year ago, I asked you about the land spirits in a place I had visited, because I thought the whole place felt horribly sad, and your Ogham said that yes, I was correct about what I picked up.
I had a different feeling about the local land spirits when visiting a different place - in the same state and on the same coast, but miles away - this week. I'm wondering how accurate your Ogham thinks my current perceptions are.
Instead of feeling sadness in this place like I did last year in the other place, I got a weird sense that the energy of another time period (a specific historical era) was still somehow very present in this place. It was a weird sensation - almost like the barrier between "then" and "now" was somehow, I don't know, thinner? in this area than in other places. Like the energy of the time period in question was still somehow "with us" there....or that the present day was more closely linked with that past era there? Funny thing is, I had the same feeling in this same general area some years back, when I attended a wedding there, and felt like we were almost "channeling" the energy of that same earlier period. I know - it's hard to explain! And I'm deliberately not mentioning which time period because I don't want to affect the reading.
Sorry if this is vague, but I've been feeling like maybe I have some sensitivity to the energy of places, and I want to know if your Ogham thinks I'm getting it right this time.

Date: 2023-08-06 11:10 pm (UTC)Thank as always for your services. I'll make this quick and simple. For the past few years I've been stuck in a rut, spinning my wheels, and I can't see how to get out or what direction to move into. What do the Ogham suggest I do? If I need to elaborate please let me know. Thank you in advance, and may the Divine bless and protect you.
Sincerely,

Date: 2023-08-07 03:07 am (UTC)You drew three cards for the next cycle.
For the You position, you got Duir or Gifts ill-dignified. Though this card can refer to a guilt trip over privilege, either directed at you from outside or coming from within, it often means that you'll have an opportunity to either be stingy or generous. The Ogham suggest taking the latter route, of course.
For the Situation, you drew Koad or Confluence well-dignified. There will be a "right place, right time" event or events coming up. Synchronicities, resolutions, and closure will be the overarching themes. I suggest taking mental snapshots of these moments of balance. In inevitable times of imbalance, you can reference this time in order to draw upon its power.
For the Outcome, you drew Luis or Protection ill-dignified. Straight up, this is a potential physical danger card especially when ill-dignified, so be on your guard and don't do anything reckless. The current state of the collective astral is extremely trashy. It's so bad that all I have to do is skip a meal and I can feel the onslaught of malefic energy that's always waiting at the fringes thumping, bumping, and grinding, attempting to beat down the doors. Malefic voices will tell you lies in order to either over-inflate or crush your ego -- always try to keep straight which voices come from your own self and which come from spirits trying to influence you. This period will be extremely bad where the astral is concerned and therefore dangerous; you should call upon the divine and your higher self to get through it.

Date: 2023-08-07 03:08 am (UTC)Re: Week 32
Date: 2023-08-07 03:17 am (UTC)You drew three cards this week.
For the You position, you drew Oír or Epiphany ill-dignified. This indicates you either need to take a closer look at your problems in meditation, which means meditation is trying to lead you towards an epiphany that cannot happen without it, or that you will have an epiphany that is necessary and potentially painful.
For the Situation, you drew Mór or Sea Change well-dignified. Overall, this is a good luck week for you and your relative position in the collective astral is a fortunate one. Much like the weather, this state of harmony is not something you caused, but like fine weather, the Ogham suggest you enjoy it while it lasts. It's a good week to think things out and make long term plans.
For the Outcome, you drew Saille or Willow ill-dignified. This is a card of your stuff owning you as the old saying goes. Clutter on the physical plane can truly mess up your life on the astral plane. The Ogham suggest a diligent de-cluttering, and if nothing else, clean one corner and/or join the Clean Toilet Challenge.
My Ogham suggest holding off on Subscription A again. They provide Uilleand or Generosity ill-dignified, which indicates generosity and gifts that allows you to avoid subscribing, at least for now. Once again, I suggest asking again later.

Date: 2023-08-07 03:27 am (UTC)You drew three cards this week.
For the You position, you drew Phagos or Teaching well-dignified. Phagos is a card of gnosis or true knowledge, basically it's knowing a thing so well you can teach it and put it in simple enough terms that a newbie can understand it. This is a week where you'll hit your strengths, and it is a good idea to look at key moments this week as you can learn about what you've got mastered on the mental plane. For me, I am a music theory master and this has been the case for several years. At other things, I'm just meh. I'm a decent composer, but only if we're talking specific genres. I am a TERRIBLE dancer... awful! Nevertheless, everyone has got to start somewhere and that's why I keep trying to dance, one tiny step at a time.
For the Situation, you drew Ioho or Grace well-dignified. This is a card of letting go of what is either past its prime or not meant to be. Because it is in Situation, it can be someone close to you deferring where it is wise to defer and passing that torch. Grace is not easy in the current general climate of greed, fear, and hoarding. By manifesting grace, you go against the grain in the best sort of way.
For the Outcome, you drew Luis or Protection ill-dignified. This can be a danger card in my Ogham, so be careful in every respect this week. As I mentioned upthread, the collective astral is godawful at the moment. You are not alone in needing to connect with your higher self this week -- you really need to draw upon your highest and most noble self. We are all being tested right now, and those who don't pray, do a banishing ritual, or have a solid religious group with effective rituals to banish malevolent forces are up a creek without a paddle.
Re: Options to pursue
Date: 2023-08-07 03:30 am (UTC)Hmmm, my Ogham don't care for either one. They give Ur or Intimacy ill-dignified for Option A, which indicates breaches of trust, revealing or compromising too much, and disharmony. For Option B, they give Eadha or Limits ill-dignified, which means that it's unrealistic, pushes too far, or doesn't satisfy enough.

Date: 2023-08-07 03:39 am (UTC)Thanks for your feedback -- that's a lovely analogy.
You drew three cards this week.
For the You position, you drew Tinne or Defense well-dignified. There is crap coming your way, but you see it coming a mile off or manage to be instinctively prepared for it. That said, you've got two danger cards in this reading and that means physical danger could be an issue this week. Like Scar said in the Lion King, Be Prepared. This is a good week to examine what true defense is made of versus what kinds of illusions masquerade as defense: physically, psychologically, magically.
For the Situation, you drew Ailm or Transcendence ill-dignified. It's going to be tempting to succumb to irritation, to fear, to mistrust, and to generally be a troll. Rise above it because your world is too big for that sort of trivia to matter. That said, false transcendence is one of the common curses of our era -- sometimes you cannot fake it until you make it and it is best not to pretend.
For the Outcome, you drew Huath or Obstacles well-dignified. Through diligence and a fair measure of suffering, you will prevail. Much of this triumph is the ability to look at yourself honestly and push through the pain. This card in this dignity means overcoming laziness, fear, and hypocrisy within oneself.

Date: 2023-08-07 03:49 am (UTC)The Ogham give you Phagos or Teaching ill-dignified for the dream. Phagos in this dignity represents frustration at not being able to see or understand the whole picture. I often get this card when someone is acting foolish and I am forced to deal with them; it means I have to invoke a great deal of patience and giving the benefit of the doubt. It could also mean that the dream is trying to teach you something but it won't be easy to figure out what it is. Of course I'm going to suggest you do several discursive meditation sessions on it.
My Ogham give you Beith or Intention well-dignified for your prayer routine. They suggest stripping it down to one prayer, one focus at a time for now. Simplicity will make your prayer more powerful. As humans, we often bite off more than we can chew. In my own case, this is the understatement of the century. If I was going to simplify my own prayer routine, I would not know where to start as I tend to do Orphic hymns, mini-prayers to the toilet while I clean it, thanks before and after meals, and then regular nightly ones as well. I guess what they are saying is that it's OK if you don't do all the prayers for now, maybe take a couple out if you're doing a bunch of eclectic ones and focus on gratitude as the "one true prayer".
Re: Princess Cutekitten
Date: 2023-08-07 03:54 am (UTC)You drew three cards this week.
For the You position, you drew Mór or Sea Change ill-dignified. Through no action of your own, the collective astral in your neck of the woods is set to s**tstorm, so the Ogham suggest you grab your prayer golf umbrella and go forth with low expectations.
For the Situation, you drew Nuin or Communication well-dignified. You have a way with words and extra influence this week, so use it well. Getting your point across will be easier than usual. Technology and commerce will likely bring more prosperity than pain.
For the Outcome, you drew Straif or Resilience well-dignified. Straif is ability to bounce back from strife and stress, so though this week may not be totally drama free, you will have the propensity to handle it well. Your flexibility and moderation when it comes to how you react to any given situation will be helpful this week.

Date: 2023-08-07 04:07 am (UTC)I have had very similar experiences with the spirit of place. There's two different forest preserves/parks in my area. In one, it's still 1954, and as I walked through it, I half-expected to be transported back to that era, full stop, and stumble in on some family roasting hot dogs on sticks and drinking Coke out of glass bottles with their Studebaker parked on the packed gravel nearby. There's another where it's still 1978, and the back-to-nature feeling of togetherness still wafts through the air. Time never moved on in either of those places. I don't know if it ever will. In the last few years of relentless daily banishing, meditation, and divination, I became far more sensitive to that sort of thing. It is very, very real. There's a story about two women who walked through the Petit Trianon in 1901 that is relevant here: https://en.chateauversailles.fr/discover/history/key-dates/ghosts-trianon#an-ordinary-visit
I think the two Englishwomen had an intense "spirit of place" experience in this case. The land wanted to talk to them and they were both sensitive enough for it to get the message through.

Date: 2023-08-07 04:16 am (UTC)This week could be a bit of a doozy: all three cards were ill-dignified. That said, I have had great days (I do a daily divination) on all ill-dignified readings: Friday was one of them. An all ill-dignified reading is anything but a bad omen, it's more like a heads up.
For the You position, you drew Mór or Sea Change. As it is in other readings this week, the collective astral plane in your neck of the woods is murky and mucky. This isn't anything you did: it's like bad weather. You cannot control it. You can be prepared for people to be off, irritable, and for bad feelings to be in the air. None of this is your fault; just be aware of what is happening.
For the Situation, you drew Ioho or Grace. There are two potential imbalances here: either letting go of too much, too soon, like when you get mad at the mess and throw out stuff you need, or being too clingy. In the case of clinging, it will be a week where it is important to determine what is not meant to be, what is no longer for you, or what needs to be let go and follow through on that grace. Sometimes Ioho ill-dignified can refer to too little rest -- driving yourself too hard. Or it can be too much, feeling like your get up and go got up and went.
For the Outcome, you drew Phagos or Teaching. You may have to suffer someone's foolishness. I often find that the less said to that person, the better. And it doesn't mean the person is a straight up fool, though that can be a possibility. We all have our moments. Other than that, it can mean a general frustration with not knowing enough or not being privy to that information.

Date: 2023-08-07 04:34 am (UTC)Thank you!
My Ogham give you three cards.
For the You position, they provide Uilleand or Generosity ill-dignified. Uilleand is an interesting tree letter. It's one of the Forfedha, which is the Ogham equivalent of trumps in the Tarot. Ill-dignified, it is suggesting that if you feel molly-coddled by someone that you learn to detach from the false sense of security it provides. It also talks about how an overflow of generosity sublimates to the power of seven. By becoming compulsively generous in a way that is from the heart and giving up stinginess, this will transmute into character and become destiny. Letting go of fear is the secret. If the worst happens, at least you gave with joy all the way down.
For the Situation, you drew Nuin or Communication well-dignified. Keep up with your dispatches and communications with the greater world; good things come from the world of strangers, including insights, interactions, and new paths forward.
For the Outcome or Karma, you drew Tinne or Defense ill-dignified. Sometimes the imbalance of Tinne is to feel too vulnerable, but in this case, I think it may be the opposite imbalance of feeling too sheltered. Look to the ways you were brought up and whether or not you were overprotected. How did that inform your decisions as an adult, for better or for worse? Is defensiveness an issue for you in your personal life? What are you defending when you get defensive? What are you genuinely afraid of?

Date: 2023-08-07 04:49 am (UTC)You drew three cards this week.
For the You position, you drew Onn or Community ill-dignified. The world of semi-strangers is likely to be a drag this week. Pragmatically, this means you shouldn't agree to any request from that world you haven't had proper time to think about. Surly or irritable co-workers, extended family, store associates, fellow drivers in traffic, and so on should be expected. Keep your expectations low where they are concerned.
For the Situation, you drew Huath or Obstacles well-dignified. No matter the dignity, Huath can be a danger card in my Ogham, so be on your guard. Other than that, this Ogham speaks of balanced Martial force in you: diligence beats out laziness, logic beats wishy-washiness, determination beats waffling, and repentance beats hypocrisy.
For the Outcome, you drew Eadha or Limits ill-dignified. The push of your limits could come from within or without -- don't let yourself be pushed around. That said, you may not be pushing enough, so choose your directions and expectations carefully.

Date: 2023-08-07 04:58 am (UTC)You drew three cards this week. All were well-dignified. Though this can indicate a rosy week, more often than not, it can mean a week that presents challenges where your abilities to overcome those challenges are much enhanced.
For the You position, you drew Ioho or Grace. You have a wide perspective and a long view this week that shows you exactly what you need to let go of and exactly where you need to live and let live. Take advantage of this wide lens to streamline and get rid of baggage (both literal and figurative).
For the Situation, you drew Quert or Delight. You are polite in the face of crudeness and rudeness. You pay attention to detail where others crash about like bulls in a china shop. It is these seemingly tiny courtesies in life that are what make civilization worthwhile as a human project. Without them, the world would be a much crappier place in which to dwell. These seemingly small things can connect you to the Divine much faster than any church ritual, especially when they have a foundation of gratitude.
For the Outcome, you drew Duir or Gifts. All of life's pleasures are sweeter when shared. It is not naive to keep gladness and hope in your heart. Actually it is the higher self breaking through when you do that. By sharing your gifts, you make them more than the sum of their parts and you send their good energy rippling through the planes. All of that will come back to you. Any pain of giving will be fleeting and temporary.

Date: 2023-08-07 05:06 am (UTC)You and your family drew three cards this week.
For the You position, you drew Ngetal or Hygiene well-dignified. Cleanliness isn't necessarily literal, though it can be. This card can indicate robust health, but more often than not, it talks about spiritual, mental, and astral plane hygiene. Moderation, pragmatism, and sensibility are all characteristics of a balanced Ngetal.
For the Situation, you drew Phagos or Teaching ill-dignified. One or more of you may feel you don't know enough about what you are being asked. In the case of schooling, this points to educational issues, difficulties with scheduling, or a lack of good teachers. Lastly, this card can be one of someone who talks at you rather than talking to you; this is a function of insecurity and vanity on their part.
For the Outcome, you drew Muin or Harvest ill-dignified. It may be too early to tell what an anticipated outcome will be, or it is possible that something that came to fruition did not meet expectations. If there is a wrong approach being done, try to find out what it is and don't be afraid to renege on investments if they are not working out.

Date: 2023-08-07 02:41 pm (UTC)1) This is really interesting "frustration at not being able to see or understand the whole picture" as that was sort of the theme of the dream as well. This is just part of it, but I was pregnant and the baby started poking through the skin of my stomach until the entire baby was hanging out just under the skin. The doctor pushed it all back in, very painfully, and then after she was all done said "You know, you could have just delivered the baby. It was ready." I was so upset because I didn't know and thought the baby was too premature to survive.
2) Yeah, my nightly routine is getting bigger and bigger and maybe diluted (or I'm getting less consistent because it's so much), so this is helpful! I pray before meals as well, but that doesn't have the same challenges as the evening ones.

Date: 2023-08-08 01:18 am (UTC)The place in question, where I have been a few times, has a powerful 1920s vibe. It was a central area for prohibition-era coastal liquor smuggling and off-shore party boats, and it's like you can still very much FEEL the energy of people flouting the law in the pursuit of money and pleasure. The area feels edgy, and simultaneously both fatalistic yet optimistic - it's a devil-may-care, drink-and-be-merry for tomorrow-we-may-die feeling, with an undertone of melancholy and longing in the aftermath of the Great War. And people who inhabit the place seems to channel that wild-yet-wistful energy to some extent without realizing it. At least, that's what comes through in that place for me....and your Ogham seems to think I'm not so far off.
no subject
Date: 2023-08-08 02:30 am (UTC)I have some OCD issues and my nightly routine is baroque. It truly is about gratitude, not crossing every T and dotting every i. When I've gotten overly excited about doing EVERY LAST THING before bed, the Divine reminds me that I need to look at the big picture and not get tied up in minutiae.
