My mechanic, who is indie and not part of any corporate chain aside from whatever deals he does with parts manufacturers, says he just hired an older, knowledgeable guy to help him at the shop and he's hoping it will work out. He says there are lots of hungry, know-almost-nothing young men wanting to essentially apprentice for him, but of course since we are in the modern era, they want to be paid.
