I learned by accident that a great gauge is how boring is the potential partner? Very, is the measure.
My husband and I have been married for 28 years and have built a sweet life together. He’s boring because he doesn’t really like hanging out at bars and parties, he reads constantly (as do I,) he likes to hang out at home doing stuff, he talks about weird esoteric stuff in absurd detail….I can trust him to be there for me no matter what I do. We both think the other is brilliant. My parents loved him, especially my dad. If you’ve got a decent relationship with your parents them liking your partner will contribute to your success in marrying that partner.
I used to go for the bad boys and they always let me down badly. My parents weren’t so sure about my choices either.
Yeah, paradoxically, go for boring for a long and loving marriage.
