I am happy to read your Ogham free of charge -- that's how I hone my divination skills -- but if you want to donate for it, I'll happily buy myself a book, a snack, or a cup of tea while on the town. Please only donate if you can absolutely afford it. I've been there. Your prayers for my continued success are welcome whether you donate or not! I take reading requests until 8pm Central Time (Chicago Illinois USA) on Sunday night. Though I am flattered that people want readings after the deadline, I decline reading requests made after 8pm Central Time on Sunday night without exception.

Planetary worship

I’ve always had a great relationship with the Christian God. Whenever I’ve done Planetary worship before it seems to correspond with a series of bad luck events. When I stop doing it my luck increases. While it may seem obvious I’d still like to see what I can learn from divination. Correlation doesn’t always prove causation.

Date: 2022-06-20 03:10 am (UTC)After I asked the generic "what's up this week" question, it occurred to me that I have a different question I'd rather ask this week, if that's okay. (I don't want to over burden you with multiple asks in one week.)
I've been feeling really, really unmotivated these last few weeks about everything that pertains to paid work. I find it increasingly hard to care, even about tasks that I think have objective value. I'm trying to get to the root of my lack of motivation. It could just be sheer laziness, but why all of a sudden like this? And why am I not feeling the same lack of motivation about non-paid tasks?
If you Ogham could give me any insight into my work-related malaise, I'd appreciate it.

For the You position, you drew Phagos or Teaching. Phagos is a card of mastery of one or more mental plane concepts. It's the value of knowing where the extent of your knowledge ends, but also of knowing how good you are at something at what can be done with that skill, if anything. This week's reading points to you being frustrated by what you don't know. You feel like you're out of the loop. The only thing you can alter about this is your reaction: if you are impatient, do your best not to show your cards about it this week, but don't give up on knowing either.
For the Situation, you drew Ioho or Grace. Ill-dignified, this points either to being overly busy or overly idle. It can also be talking about you (or someone close to you) not being able to let go of what is not forthcoming or not meant to be this week. At its worst, Ioho is a sense of entitlement without contemplation.
For the Outcome, you drew Ngetal or Hygiene. Ill-dignified, it can be talking about health problems and/or a disturbed etheric body. Personally, I have had some pronounced problems with etheric starvation lately and it shows up as food cravings and an inability to keep my desk and car clean. Spending time outdoors, cleaning up one corner and blessing it, and eating a meal very slowly and gratefully are the best quick cures for etheric starvation.

For the You position, you drew Tinne or Defense well-dignified. You have reasons to be defensive this week, which is in itself a warning from the Ogham. You have a good head on your shoulders this week and you neither overreact nor overreact when threatened or provoked. It's a good week to think about the true nature of defense and what that means. To be well-defended in some areas often leaves others wide open, for instance the person who washes their hands thirty times a day and thinks nothing of taking an NSAID such as Tylenol or Advil. NSAIDS temporarily obliterate the protective endothelial cell layer lining the upper intestine, so if I take one and then expose myself to pathogenic bacteria, for instance by eating an animal product or breathing in a sick person's saliva droplets, there is nothing stopping that pathogenic bacteria from entering my bloodstream. The cleanliness of my hands makes zero difference.
For the Situation card, you drew Uilleand or Generosity ill-dignified. Uilleand can be pointing to someone who makes you feel awkward and guilty by spoiling you, or you doing the same by laying on thick. Sometimes it does not mean this at all but indicates that you are extremely giving. If that is the case, generosity will return your way through the planes, given enough time. It returns by the power of seven.
For the Outcome, you drew Gort or Perseverance well-dignified. Like a clinging vine, you take what you need and use the support of others instead of trying to go it alone. Mór is a card that indicates factors completely beyond your control that are part of the fabric of fate. Do your best to accept and react calmly and gracefully while showing spine/courage when necessary.
For the Outcome, you drew Straif or Resilience well-dignified. This is one of those tough ordeals that you will come through fine,. Every battle you fight is one that will harden you. For the Outcome, you drew Mór or Sea Change. When it is well-dignified, Mór is a lucky streak that you've had nothing to do with. Basically you can surf a big wave of good luck this week, making it propitious for big decisions, paying debts, forging new relationships, and doing commercial deals.

This is the Ogham's gentle way of warning you of imbalance. Please keep in mind I've had some of my best days on all ill-dignified readings and some of my worst on all well-dignified ones. It all depended on what I did with the information I got.
For the You position, you drew Koad or Confluence. Things may go wrong and though some of it is you, much of it will not be your fault. Don't blame yourself for what you had no influence over to begin with, but alternately don't run away from the junk for which you are to blame.
For the Situation, you drew Duir or Gifts. There is no bad side to Duir even when ill-dignified. When ill-dignified, Duir is talking about becoming aware of how good you have it, otherwise known as privilege. If you are genuinely grateful for your privilege, you sublimate whatever you are grateful for. If you go one step further and share some of your gifts with others (this includes people, places, and the people and places of the future long after you are gone) then you will sublimate to the power of seven and you will see those gifts return to you on all the planes, though how they will be distributed along those planes is only known by the gods.
For the Outcome, you drew Tinne or Defense. Ill-dignified, it means you might be overlooking some key defense or strategy to defend your health, your living, or your home. It can also indicate you're over-defensive, which can be a function of having a puffy ego or being afflicted by materialism.

From my own experience, I have dated guys with whom the spark was very quickly extinguished. I dated them because I thought it would be "mean" to break up with them and because I was vain and needed to be worshipped. It was hell both for me and for the guys. I ended up hating them while we were dating and during these relationships, I broke it off multiple times. I felt trapped, yet I was the one who set the trap. It is far better to be alone than trapped. Luckily I didn't marry any of the ones I am talking about in the paragraph above. Even the person you marry ends up disappointing you -- make sure there is a solid foundation or it will not last. I was madly in lust with my husband back in the day (we have been married 22 years and dated 6 years on and off before that). He is very much my "type". Now we're at an age where we can manage to keep our hands off each other a little more easily because we're old and not as driven by hormones. If I had never lusted after him, trust me that I wouldn't be happy with him now.
Let this girl work on herself and go to her own consequences with men who match her better than you do. Give her the respect she deserves by not interfering and stealing her time away by being the one who settles for her. There may be someone out there for her who is not settling when it comes to her and who will love and cherish her exactly the way she is. She needs to be free if he is going to have his chance.
My Ogham give you Ruis or Regret ill-dignified for the prospects of this relationship, meaning that you'll regret it if you settle. I don't know that I would suggest "let's be friends" as that forever keeps her on her toes hoping that you'll see her as more than a friend. Just say you think she's a cool person but you're not interested and be done with it, no promises of friendship, no assurances that she'll find someone. Maybe she won't find someone and you'll both end up Forever Alone. Better to do that and deal with that karma than trap yourself and create a long-term commitment based on a lie.

To better explain what this means, I have pulled Muin well-dig several times this week. For me, it's literal fruits: I planted zucchini, tomato, and cucumber this year and a pear tree many years ago that are forming fruits right now. It can also mean metaphorical fruits such as blossoming friendships or a happy home.
For the Situation position, you drew Ngetal or Hygiene ill-dignified. This week may present some health issues or dangers to your health, so be aware and make sure you eat nourishing food, do some mild and steady bouts of cardiovascular exercise, and get out in the sunlight if possible.

My Ogham say it's fine to go to Ontario. For question one, they provide Ruis or Regret well-dignified, meaning you won't regret going back and tying up those loose ends.
For the second question, can you get back to Florida, they say Yes, and they give Nuin or Communication well-dignified. This means that the world of strangers is friendly during this journey out and back in again, and that the Ogham do not predict any problems.

For this week you drew three cards, all ill-dignified. As I mentioned, it's a weird banner week for all ill-dig or well-dig readings.
For the You position, you drew Eadha or Limits ill-dignified, meaning that either you will push unsuccessfully against your own limits this week or someone/something else will do the pushing for you. Either way, take it easy and relax. If you feel driven by any sudden impulse this week, look before you leap. Don't let yourself be pushed by any force, corporeal or incorporeal.
For the Situation, you drew Fearn or Bridge. Helpers may turn out to be Foes in Disguise, so be wary of frenemies and bad advisors who potentially mean well (or don't). There is a predicament that cannot be solved. The Ogham suggest you do what you can to ameliorate the severity of it.

For the You position, they provide Coll or Wisdom well-dignified. You've had a realization (perhaps subconsciously) about the nature of work. Being paid for it does not automatically define it as worthy of your time. A really good example of this is a successful composer I once knew who arrogantly said that musicians who did not do music as their sole living had not earned the right to call themselves musicians. According to his own logic, Harry Styles and David Guetta have the right to call themselves musicians but Charles Ives (insurance salesman) and Gustav Holst (schoolteacher) did not.
For the Situation, you drew Nuin or Communication well-dignified. My Ogham seem to think your recent insights about work are a message from higher powers. It's not laziness, otherwise it would apply to non-paid tasks. My Ogham obviously feel you need to turn this into discursive meditation and to look at specific tasks and ask "What gives this task value?" and "To whom is this valuable?"
For the Outcome, you drew Oír or Epiphany ill-dignified. Oír means that you are in the midst of an epiphany that may shake up your life quite a bit, and that the shake ups won't be universally welcomed. Again, discursive meditation is your best bet as these weighty matters are better handled with careful contemplation of the forces at work.

All factors are inclined to work in harmony and though you do not have yourself solely to thank, you definitely played a role in the current balance.
For the Situation, you drew Oír or Epiphany well-dignified. You or someone close to you will have a realization about the nature of things this week. Though it may not be a pleasant realization, it is for the best that you have such an insight because it will brighten the future for you and others.

The Ogham answered No. They provide Tinne or Defense ill-dignified, meaning that it's a natural psychological defense to suspect a god is mad at you for worshipping another god. This isn't the case for you and the Christian god.
2. For the second question, I asked "Is the bad luck something that should be meditated/contemplated as a message to what the gods of the planets want Steve C to work on?" and they said Yes with Onn or Community well-dignified. The gods and their helper spirits could be giving you specific instruction with your bad luck to test you and see if you will work through your own karma. For instance, I used to not follow through with certain chores that needed to be done, so (I believe) the gods tested me with those chores going awry when I did them for a few weeks to see if I would give up or not. Such tests looked like bad luck on the surface but were revealed in discursive meditation to be very targeted at my deeply personal weaknesses.
Re: Ontario?
Date: 2022-06-20 08:08 pm (UTC)One problem I see is that it's very hard to uproot from an entire life. Everyone I know is here, the US is a different country, and for a while, it was hard to tell if we'd ever be allowed back. So it's a very big commitment, and I think a lot of people simply find it too big a decision to make.
Another issue with it is that it's actually surprisingly hard to move to the US from Canada without dealing with the Covid madness, unless you have a citizenship. It's easy to get in the country, but it's nearly impossible to be able to legally stay without a salary class job lined up. The life of an illegal immigrant is a major step down in terms of status, free time, income, and the like for most Canadians, and so it's not an easy decision to make for that either.

This means he has some challenges ahead of him where "long haul" relationships, habits, and commitments are concerned. He will need to question whether persevering in certain matters is worthwhile. Often we humans fall into the "psychology of previous investment" monkey trap and end up doing something that is bad for us over and over again. On the other side of potential imbalance is feeling thin or worn out -- I often get Gort ill-dignified when my bank account is running on fumes or when something is irritating me. The best question to ask of oneself here is "Could this be a test from higher powers and if so, what is it designed to teach me?"
For the Situation, your husband drew Straif or Resilience ill-dignified. He runs the risk of either overreacting to the hardships of our time or under-reacting and not feeling prepared enough for tough times. It's easy to become over-insulated and brittle in trying times, for instance chucking it all and moving to a self-sufficient doomstead you believe will somehow solve all your problems. Simon & Garfunkel had a song about that called "I am a Rock". The opposite extreme is to give up and subsist entirely on Trader Joe's convenience meals and Barefoot pink moscato while depending on a crew of greedy, clueless allopathic doctors for your health. Somewhere in the middle of those two lies the way of sanity and reason; your husband is challenged to find it.

That said, the presence of this cards may indicate that you have to say a firm "NO" to someone or to forces that compel you to over-schedule yourself.

You have an intimate knowledge of your privilege and luck this week, and unlike many you have the propensity to turn it into good fortune for others and not just yourself. By acting generously, you will sublimate your gifts and reflect them back upon others and yourself.
For the Outcome, you drew Coll or Wisdom ill-dignified. One thing I often say to my husband is that I do not want wealth that I have not earned. Why? There is no wealth without a price, and if I won the lottery tomorrow (impossible as I don't play the lottery) it would come at a karmic price I do not want to pay in this lifetime or in future ones. Be prepared to work for your keep, and that includes intellectual gains. Also, this card ill-dignified is always a message to keep your mouth shut when the time arrives. Don't cast your pearls before swine.
Update on prior reading
Date: 2022-06-23 01:05 am (UTC)I'm still currently employed, though I thought to update you with what I've found since then:
1. You were right in that the specific wording of their policy would almost surely blow my unorthodox plan out of the water.
2. Having seen the way they have treated other employees as well as new hires just based on remote work they make zero concessions for current employees... While giving in to new hires.
3. I'd definitely say that their attempts at defense has been lacking dignity all things considered. They have begun publicly announcing to the workplace chat any time there's a new covid exposure in the office which only has served to freak out the fully vaxxed lemmings since there's nearly one per day among in office staff
4. Technically they demand vax evidence of all employees but are only bothering to verify when you make your return to the office and my return is.... Who knows? It sounds like it could be 9 to 12 months away. I'll take the paycheck but gads its becoming insufferable to deal with their wokeness and left wing genuflecting. At this point I am working on my own venture and just using the paycheck to fund it while I can.
5. Speaking of Ill dignity they specifically cite the OSHA order in their mandate. While they claim to honor exemptions I'm unaware of anyone who has one and your reading indicated I would not receive one anyway. But based on their policy I wouldn't want one. They demand exempt employees test 2 times weekly. So clearly because the vaxed don't have to test at all they are okay with vaxxed people infecting the vulnerable but believe that the vaxed aren't protected enough from the unvaxed... Oh who am I kidding, they don't actually think anything about it. They just want to create a hostile environment for people who exercise their rights and force them to relent.
So there it is. I think even if I were to Mount a defense of my position and succeed, would that success be a well dignified outcome? I'm not so sure it would.

I could write a book about the slimy tactics the DIE crew are using to cause trouble and how HR (now renamed The People Team) are their tools.
Every time a left-wing perceived "national tragedy" happens the CEO gives "those effected" blessing to just take a day off.
Man, the more I think about it all the more I keep wanting to flip a table, flip, a bird, and quit without notice, but as long as I can use the paycheck to fund my ticket out of W2 life I'll just have to wait it out
