I think that the crash is the only way to get balance. It'll suck short term, but it's the only way to get rid of the various gatekeepers strangling the economy. I think a lot of suffering will need to happen (like the 1930s), but that when the dust settles it'll be possible to do things which cannot be done in the current environment.
Having said that, I'm really not looking forward to the decade or so of utter misery that I'm expecting....
