For every Aslan and Michael Hughes, there were at least a dozen deranged TikTok/Instagram junkies who took their dabblings in "magick" to the next level and succumbed to the hateful little voice whispering in their ear. An ex-friend of mine with severe TDS and no background at all in magic threw an amateur hex at a hated Republican news pundit and ended up making someone in her house very, very sick. She regularly and transparently fantasized about misfortune befalling Trump, but because her witchcraft was so incompetent, her magic was almost 100% blowback, kind of like the untrained idiot who tries to fire a shotgun and ends up riddled with buckshot while completely missing the target.
