Today I was hoping to ask a question of the Ogham.
I am in a transition phase of my life. I am wondering if I should take yoga classes and eventually become a yoga instructor or perhaps continue down the path of farming?

Date: 2021-05-04 12:54 am (UTC)I asked: "Would it be better for Brendhelm to buy a house?" They said Yes. They gave me Muin, which is Harvest. In my system, this is Nightshade or Tomato, in the old system it is Grapevine. They are saying that you ought to buy a house (if possible) because it will allow you to put down the roots you need in order to reap the harvests of life. Apartment life is great and there is much to enjoy about it, especially in wintertime when the furnace goes out on the coldest (holiday Sunday) of the year in Illinois when bills are tight. Yeah, that actually happened this year in our little house. How I longed for it to be someone else's problem! Nevertheless, owning a house, especially one that isn't beholden to any kind of homeowner's association, is fulfilling in a way apartment living will never be. You can plant trees. You can learn to build things. There are much more opportunities to "get your hands dirty" and to do weird stuff like drying dandelion roots. I was gardening all day, can you tell?
This week looks like a doozy
Date: 2021-05-04 01:05 am (UTC)This week looks like rough sailing. My Ogham gave you three ill-dignified cards. Now, keep in mind I have had the best of days when my Ogham have given me doozy readings. Yesterday was a good example. Ill-dignified cards warn you of potential imbalances coming from inside or outside you. The Ogham tend to be a gentle warning whereas the Tarot (from my experience) tend to be a 4x4 upside the head.
For the You position, you drew Quert or Delight (Apple) ill-dignified. This indicates one of two potential and opposite imbalances. You'll have an opportunity to do something fun or to celebrate, or it is possible you will need to take the day off, and you'll be sorely tempted to tough it out. Don't be such a hard@$$-- take a break and enjoy life. The other imbalanced potential is you'll party too hard and then have to deal with the metaphorical or literal hangover.
For the Situation position, you drew Eadha or Limits (Aspen) ill-dignified. This indicates that your limits will be pushed from the outside or that you won't be happy with someone else's limits. The Ogham suggest that you think about limits this week and look carefully at how they affect your relationships with others.
For the final Lesson or Karma position, you drew Onn or Community (Gorse) ill-dignified. This probably means you'll be disappointed by your extended family, neighbors, your co-workers, the people in your town, etc. or they'll harbor some grudge against you. Keep your reactions in check and close to the vest -- what other people don't know won't hurt them, especially when you are forced to go around idiots.

Date: 2021-05-04 01:23 am (UTC)For the You position, you drew Ngetal or Hygiene well-dignified. This indicates that you'll be robust in some way, though whether this means physical or astral health I cannot tell. For anyone doing a banishing ritual, this means that the banishing ritual is working.
For the Situation position, you drew Fearn or Bridge well-dignified. This means that you'll receive good advice from someone or give good advice and therefore receive the karma, which is benefiting from good advice. Keep in mind the "someone" does not have to have a physical body.
For the Outcome or Karma, you drew Uilleand or Generosity. I don't tend to read Uilleand well- or ill-dignified because it is a complicated Ogham equivalent of a Tarot trump. You will learn the lessons of generosity this week, and those aren't always the easiest lessons to observe, let alone learn. Generosity sublimates and stinginess degrades. Those who have figured out how to act generously without fear always benefit from it, whether they realize that is what is happening or not. Most truly generous people have absolutely no idea of how their actions circle around and revitalize everything they touch, including themselves.

Date: 2021-05-04 01:46 am (UTC)The Ogham forecast is good and bad this week. For the You position, they give me Onn or Community well-dignified. Community, as my Ogham define it, consists of people who are outside your inner circle but not complete strangers. Think acquaintances, neighbors, townspeople, online pals, extended family. Because this is in the You position, it indicates personal balance and benefits within your community for you.
For the Situation, the Ogham put forward Ioho or Grace, which means that you or someone very close to you will be influenced by either a lack of rest/grace or too much of it in the form of debility or inertia.
For the final Karma or Outcome position, you drew Nuin or Communication ill-dignified. This means you'll have trouble getting your message across to the indifferent world or that you'll say the wrong thing that gives the masses the wrong impression of you. It's a good week to look at the way you want to present yourself to the greater world about you and to take a bird's eye view of your niche.

For the middle position, the Situation, they give me Nuin or Communication ill-dignified. This points to feeling misunderstood, threatened, or isolated by the world of strangers. It can also mean being publicly embarrassed or having someone close to you be publicly embarrassed or harassed.
For the Outcome, they give me Phagos or Knowledge. You will have the opportunity to share or receive wisdom or information that is the karma of having shared wisdom or information. Now, keep in mind this isn't necessarily good -- sometimes we spill our pearls before swine and we get the karma from that, which is receiving knowledge that isn't relevant to us or that we are not ready for!

I asked them what you should expect from farming and it was a mixed bag.
They gave me three cards.
For the You position, they gave me Gort or Perseverance well-dignified. This seems to state rather directly that you will stick to the path you take without wavering.
For the Situation, they give me Muin or Harvest ill-dignified. This does not bode well for obvious reasons. They are saying you would have to deal with your fair share of failures as a farmer.
As for the Outcome or Karma of taking up farming, they give me Ioho or Grace ill-dignified. This seems to say that farming will be a hard road for you.
Are there any other options on the table?

In addition, I rather recently came to the realization that I might be able to share and spread my vision through my writing.
I am running for a local elected position, it's possible that could lead to other opportunities. I am interested in becoming more active in my local community.
So, to answer your question, I currently see my other option as staying with UPS and doing some other things on the side: writing my Dad's autobiography, also his occult teachings, and doing more to support my folks and my community.

Meaning, you probably sense things that are quite accurate and then misinterpret them. Or you go through phases of being affected by every force that comes your way and then shut down for reasons you don't yet understand.
With how are the things playing out with the things you are working to get/change:
They give me Straif or Strife (Honey Locust) well-dignified, which means you are going through some hardships that will pay off in a "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" School of Hard Knocks sort of way. It's a hard roe to hoe but they are indicating you'll be mostly successful.

This is to say that you won't feel like overcoming anything this week, or that there is the possibility of thinking some unpleasantness is over that isn't yet over. The Ogham are suggesting you prepare to take the high road and don't count your chickens before they are hatched.
For the middle position, the Situation, they give me Phagos or Knowledge. There is a Situation where you will have insider knowledge most likely born of experience. This knowledge will be useful but Phagos doesn't indicate positivity or negativity, only having profound knowledge of a thing.
For the Karma, it looks rough. They give me Huath or Obstacles and it is ill-dignified. Be aware you may be tempted to force an outcome or rush to an ending or you may be confronted with a dilemma for which there is only one good but terrible path and like Frodo in the Lord of the Rings, just not feel up to it. It's a great week to meditate on what they are trying to tell you, so I recommend visiting my site http://druidogham.wordpress.com and looking up the tree cards you drew and thinking about the questions attached to them.

This is saying that you suffer the extremes of sensitivity: either you are too sensitive or your shell is so thick, you can't be reached and you have a disconnect when it comes to reading other people. Either imbalance can lead to trouble with others, misunderstandings, and bad timing. It's a great week to meditate and journal on your own best moments of good timing and when you did have your finger on the pulse, and alternately to meditate and journal about the times you put your foot in your mouth or zigged when you should have zagged.

For the You card, they give me Ioho or Grace well-dignified. This shows that you are letting go of the things that are not meant for you gracefully. They are giving you kudos for acting responsibly and with maturity.
For the Situation, they give you Oír, which is Epiphany. This is an Ogham of quietly going around idiots. Oír indicates the power of the lightning strike, an act of God which electrocutes those unfortunate or stupid enough to get in its way.
For the Outcome, they give me Onn or Community ill-dignified. This indicates that either you will be disappointed in your greater community (not strangers but also not people in your inner circle) and/or they will be disappointed with you.

Date: 2021-05-04 04:37 am (UTC)I see three possibilities for what your ogham might be warning me about: first is that the New Blue Party has a lot of baggage, and I may be overestimating my ability to work with them; the second is that the New Blue Party might win and set off a crisis (Along the lines of the person who felt they might bring about our 1989, or perhaps an even worse one), and so I'm best off avoiding getting involved; or perhaps my energies are best spent elsewhere because the New Blue Party is doomed no matter what. Of course there's also always number 4: something else entirely.
Would you mind checking with them to see whether any of these are what they are warning me about?
