That seems like a cogent analysis to me. I would highly expect such a creepypasta to show up in the form of online RPGs if it has not already.

It's nearly 90 degrees today and I saw three different young men walking alone on the sidewalk with masks on. For men, wearing a mask is the ultimate "I give up" on being brave, assertive, dominant, and all those other things we have come to associate with masculinity. The mask is the last hurrah of the salary class before it and its virtue signaling gets sucked into the void. The entirely buried, subconscious reason for wearing it is a fervent wish to continue the dream of Jetsons-narrative Progress. Representative Mo Brooks recently called out Biden and his administration, saying "In a general sense, the Biden Administration is operating in an alternate reality. They are not in the same reality you and I are in, or that the rest of American citizens are in. It’s almost like Alice in Wonderland looking through the looking glass.”

The salary class and its aspirants have had a psychotic break. They wear a mask as a superstitious symbol. They think it keeps the dream of Progress from ending, and just like Biden and his crew, they are completely detached, sniffing their own farts in a doomed house of mirrors.
