ogham reading re: Canada
Date: 2026-06-08 11:11 pm (UTC)I happened to peruse your last Ogham reading post and saw these very interesting queries and results:
1) My Ogham give Duir or Gifts ill-dignified. When Duir is ill-dignified, it is referring to privilege, especially privilege that is taken for granted. The issue with Canadians (not all of them, of course) is they are very spoiled and very soft. They cannot self-govern because they are dependent on sucking the government teat and have become handicapped when it comes to self-sufficiency, which is necessary for self-government.
2) They give Gort or Perseverance well-dignified. Individual Canadians would do very well to embrace self-sufficiency, as it is exactly what is needed for the coming days, months, and years. Nobody learns this stuff overnight, and that is why Canadians who are patient with themselves and take an approach of "a little bit at a time is better than nothing" approach will be in the best position to ride out what is coming.
Being a born and bred Canadian, I agree with this interpretation. We live in a mixed economy but it leans much more heavily on public funding AND public jobs. If I'm not mistaken, the largest job creator in Canada over the past decade has been government, and the results of that are coming home to roost.
I used to be a federal employee in my former life (now 13 years distant), which leads me to my comment on the second query. I left that cushy job because I could see the writing on the wall. I chose a much reduced income so that I could learn some self-sufficiency skills and get away from a job and work culture that was suffocating.
There is a small contingent of us Canucks who are aware and working to become less reliant on government and its handouts. Covid showed our governments' true colours and the real danger when one relies too heavily on a single source of income, and I think renewed interest in our immigrant past. We were once a hardy, self-reliant people that had to eke out a living in a freezing climate. We can embrace that past and learn some wisdom from it.

Date: 2026-06-09 02:06 am (UTC)There have been some rumblings that a second Great Depression is coming somewhere between August and October 2026 because of Trump and his stupidity with Israel and the Strait of Hormuz. I am going to be asking my Ogham about it.
I believe the North American land spirits want very badly for us humans to become more self-sufficient. We have been cut off from talking to them for way too long by our materialist conditioning.
