Ogham Readings on Saturdays

I am happy to read your Ogham free of charge -- that's how I hone my divination skills. Please limit your reading request to four or fewer Ogham cards: though this can take many forms, here are some common ones (all of them are basically combos of 4 cards):

 

-a single three card reading for the week or month and a one-off, one card reading

-four questions about four separate items that require one answer (card) per item
-a one card reading to answer a specific question and a three card for a more nuanced question
-Two separate readings, two cards a piece exploring the positives and negatives of two different choices

I am happy to do Ogham readings confidentially via emails -- just email me at k steele studio at gmail during the allotted time/before deadline. I cannot answer health questions. If you have a question about health or another sensitive, private matter, provide a bunch of non-identifying information and the Ogham will be able to figure it out even if I don't. I'm serious... the Ogham actually tend to "know" things without me being privy to what is going on.

Please note I take time off during Solstices and Equinoxes for Druid stuff and because sometimes I simply need a break.

My next planned break is from December 18 - January 8.

I take reading requests from whenever this post goes up on Friday night until 8pm US Central Time Saturday.

Witchy Aunt?

Hi Kimberly,

I have an “Aunt S” who I think about from time to time. It’s occurred to me lately that she may be a classic, unofficial witch in the malevolent sense of the word. In my limited contact with her, as she’s quite some physical distance from me, she likes nothing better than to rage and badmouth. Several years ago she shared with me that she prays for my disabled brother’s death, thinking he’d be better off dead (he died several years ago). I shrugged it all off as “Whatever. That’s just Aunt S being full of herself.”

Now I’m not so sure. Is she actually a witch?

If so, how best to deal with her in life (she’s quite elderly and suffers from dementia) and after she dies?

I sometimes pick up on the dead, and don’t want any trouble from her.

Hail Kimberly! You've proved me much help in the past and I welcome more help from you going forward. This year is marking basically a complete reset in my life, after a traumatic time period. I have received an annual reading from you already (thanks!), and now want to occasionally use your Ogham readings to finesse what I work on at this time.

A few questions:

1. I am practicing affirmation "RC" daily. Does your Ogham like this affirmation for me to practice daily?

2. I am essentially resetting the learning of divination now. I'm taking up the runes from the beginning, one rune a day, a meditation on each rune a day. My first attempt at divination for a few years didn't pan out because I didn't take enough time to seriously meditate on individual runes. I am now re-doing it.

That said, I am also resetting *many* aspects of my life now. And I do not have time to restart everything now. I'd like to ask your Ogham if it approves of me re-studying and re-contemplating the runes now.

3. Another task I am taking up again is considering alternative medicine to help with my health issues. I have had occasional intuitive indications that learning herbal medicine and taking acupuncture sessions would be a worthwhile approach in life, but I need to constrain what I put my energy towards in the coming year. Is it fair for me to table research into these topics until January?

I have been with AMORC for about 2.5 years, but I recently received advice (involving Hanael) that would require that I brush up on what little I did with the Golden Dawn for about a year before I joined AMORC.

What do you and your Ogham think? If I understood him correctly, I can do the ritual 7 times and then continue with my other work. Would this be ok?

This question is more for you (as a fellow ex-atheist) than the Ogham, though if you think they can help...

I'm a raised-atheist very awkwardly approaching deities. Had approached the one I felt contacted by and been giving awkward offerings (not the best either, but what I have) and requesting "help" (as the deity sees fit). But then this morning I dreamed about requesting specific things from 2 other deities, then I woke up and wasn't sure what to do. Half-dreaming I had sort of promised an offering as an apology for bothering them and to request they just leave me alone. Made an offering to the deity I do want a relationship with. Set out to make one to the others, felt bad / heavy limbed so stopped. This whole time was unsure "who" was actually responding to this dream-call (the actual deities or something else?). Ended up kind of saying "later today"...

Well. It's later today. Still unsure what to do. I would not be doing any of this if I hadn't felt like that one deity had begun reaching out back when I hit puberty. I know I need more knowledge of what on earth I'm supposed to be doing, but don't know where to even start. Or what to do about today's problem.

My only protection has been prayer. JMG's FAQ suggests even SoP type stuff is not OK in pregnancy (which is currently not definite but possible). Not that I know how to do SoP stuff anyway.

What can/should I do?

Hi AO,

Your reading is all well-dignified this week. As much as I would love to predict a perfect week, I am not going to do that as all well-dig does not mean perfect. You can, however, expect to handle challenges related to the concepts in the tiles with grace.

For the You card, you drew Ruis or Regret. The benefit of having made some terrible mistakes is that you have corrected course. There is no good in beating yourself up. Yes, the Akashic record or whatever you want to call it records everything, but there was also the choice to continue with the bad behavior and guess what? You did not do that. Time to forgive, including forgiving yourself, but not forget.

For the Situation, you drew Muin or Harvest. A seed you planted is coming of age. This is a time where you cannot yet slow down with work, especially of the personal variety, but a rest and reflection period is on the horizon.

For the Outcome, you drew Phagos or Teaching. Most humans, myself included, are flaming dumpster fires in some respect. We are all doing our best. We need to hold each other accountable, but we also need to cut each other some slack. It is a balance. Take what you can learn from each dumpster fire and do your best to see and amplify the good. If the bad exceeds the good by a huge ratio, avoid that human!

My Ogham are giving you three ill-dignified cards, which means they want to tell you more of what NOT to do than what to do and hopefully this helps you narrow it down. Obviously I am going to suggest you plumb this matter in discursive meditation.

For the You or most immediate "right now" card, they give you Onn or Community. You need to shut up about this matter immediately. Yes, it is likely you've already told too many people. Don't worry about that. Stay silent and reveal as little as possible. Don't expect too much from the community but also do not be nihilistic about them. Other people are wrapped up in themselves. It is not about you.

For the Situation, you drew Koad or Confluence. Yes, you were the author of your own problems, but there are factors coming in from all around that made this happen as much or more than you did. You may be blaming yourself, but there are mitigating forces you need to look at because you ended up swept up by them.

For the Outcome, you drew Mór or Sea. Don't make any big decisions or proclamations. Lay low, keep everything on the down low, and ride this out. It is going to pass. Right now, it's an astral sh*tstorm and there is no way you can see the whole situation clearly.

They do not like it. They give Mór or Sea ill-dignified, which indicates that through no fault of your own, this is not the opportunity for you at the moment. This could change, because Mór is often an astral weather report. Weather, as you well know, is capricious.

The Ogham say that this month, it looks good. They give Straif or Resilience well-dignified, meaning that the company is getting it done and doing a thorough job.

For next month, it looks like rough sailing. They give Huath or Obstacles ill-dignified. This means that very little progress is made and any attempt to force or expedite matters will backfire. It is also possible that things will limp along at a frustratingly slow pace during holiday season.

For early in the New Year, they give Nuin or Communication well-dignified. Obstacles will clear and work will flow. It is easier to get your message and guidance across.

My Ogham say No, she is not a witch. They give Muin or Harvest ill-dignified, which is to say she plants many negative seeds and none of them sprout. Personally, I call this incompetence in witchcraft and I have seen it many times. What reliably tends to happen to people who attempt to throw their bad intentions around (such as obviously wishing for your disabled brother's death, RIP) is they grenade themselves and anyone unfortunate or dumb enough to stick around them. She probably caused her own dementia.

How you should deal with her during and after her death process:

They give three cards.

For the You card, they give Phagos or Teaching ill-dignified. There is much to be learned from the way she has lived her life, and my Ogham are saying this is an opportunity for discursive mediation you do not want to miss. How did focusing on the negative impact your aunt and the people around her? Do you see any of your own worst tendencies in her? How can you seek to learn from your aunt's example?

For the Situation, you drew Uilleand or Generosity. In which ways is your aunt a miser? Is she at all generous in any way? How have her miserable behaviors compounded themselves into more misery? What do you suspect your aunt deeply feared, and how did her fears manifest as rage and badmouthing?

For the Outcome, you drew Saille or Sensitivity ill-dignified. Yes, your aunt will probably try to get your attention after death. That is why you should meditate on it before it happens. If she does reach out, let her know that she needs to go with the Guides and that clinging to this plane can result in being trapped here. Getting "stuck" is not hell, but it is boring as hell. She needs to face her fears and accept the lessons of this life, and from the sounds of things she failed/is failing quite a few of them. Her higher self and her Holy Guardian Angel are still there for her no matter what.

For the You position, you drew Eadha or Limits well-dignified. You practice moderation this week and realize how much more delightful it is than the alternatives. Limits are power. This is a good week to look at how much you've left out and the benefits you've gained because of your choices of deliberate exclusion.

For the Situation, you drew Tinne or Defense ill-dignified. Tinne is a danger card in my Ogham in any dignity, so I am going to issue my usual warning about being watchful and wary, especially of physical dangers. Other than that, this might be talking about craving the unknown but that unknown actually being terrible. Another possibility is that worry has become toxic, and you need to understand that those who seem well defended are often the most fragile.

For the Outcome, you drew Ailm or Transcendence well-dignified. Focus on the good enough and it will eventually ratio the negatives of your life. We can do this via gratitude and generosity. If you are grateful for every little thing, especially things others never think about such as the spirits of place, it easily transforms itself into luck. I have no other explanation for it than it being the hand of the gods.

For the You card, you drew Koad or Confluence well-dignified. You've set some good in place and now you can enjoy the fruits of your labor. This goodness and wealth is also a function of good luck and divine forces, so taking a moment to sincerely thank the forces and factors involved for their blessings will amplify those blessings.

For the Situation, you drew Ngetal or Hygiene ill-dignified. In any case, Ngetal is one of my Ogham's danger cards and it comes with my usual warning to be risk adverse this week, guarding your health with a fiery sword. Other than that, it talks about needing to establish limits on yourself, your energy, and your time, and not letting others trample on your needs.

For the Outcome, you drew Oír or Epiphany well-dignified. There could be a cathartic realization for you that you need to have in order to grow. Chances are that it won't be pleasant (this card can have that feature despite good dignity) but you truly need to have it.

Hmmm, my Ogham are giving me a difficult reading here, so please make of it what you will, and take the advice with many grains of salt.

1. My Ogham do not like this affirmation. They give Luis or Protection ill-dignified, which is one of their danger cards and indicates that this is not entirely in line with what your Holy Guardian Angel wants for you. I am going to suggest doing discursive meditation on why this affirmation is problematic.

2. For your re-study and re-contemplation of the runes, they give Fearn or Bridge ill-dignified. The runes, according to my Ogham, are not the way, at least not for now. Are there any other divination methods that interest you such as Tarot or geomancy?

3. For herbal and acupuncture sessions right now, they give Mór or Sea ill-dignified, meaning that the resources in your area could be problematic or the practitioners out of reach or not competent enough. They say you should table your research until January. They give Huath or Obstacles well-dignified, which indicates that the blocks keeping you from knowledge and help should have cleared by then.

Hi Anon,

Well, first take a deep breath -- it will be fine. The gods have got you covered, and you are not bothering them. (I remember calling faithful people "god botherers" back when I was atheist, and now I realize that gods cannot be bothered!)

First of all, are you doing discursive meditation every day? If not, you should be.

My suggestion is that you do a ton of natural magic, meaning do some every day. You might consider learning hoodoo, for instance this course. Every time you bathe, you should bathe with intention of cleaning your entire aura, not just your body. If you can stand some salt in the bath, always add it, and also add vinegar or spray yourself down with a solution of vinegar and water, including your hair, every day. Do some kind of candle magic, such as a short blessing ritual, or herbal magic every day. Hang herbs by your doorway and wear them in your shoe. Start throwing intentions into your food and always, always say a prayer of thanks (Grace) before you eat. Go outside and sit by a tree as often as you can, and hopefully this will help you to slowly develop your communication skills with non-corporeal entities (dryads are the non-corporeal entities we call "tree spirits".) Also, clean your toilet every night and sweep your floor every morning after making your bed -- this is powerful natural magic that says to the gods "I am humble and I am grateful". It also attracts earned wealth.
