Ogham Readings on Saturdays
Nov. 8th, 2024 10:18 am
I am happy to read your Ogham free of charge -- that's how I hone my divination skills. Please limit your reading request to four or fewer Ogham cards: though this can take many forms, here are some common ones (all of them are basically combos of 4 cards):
-a single three card reading for the week or month and a one-off, one card reading
-four questions about four separate items that require one answer (card) per item
-a one card reading to answer a specific question and a three card for a more nuanced question
-Two separate readings, two cards a piece exploring the positives and negatives of two different choices
-a one card reading to answer a specific question and a three card for a more nuanced question
-Two separate readings, two cards a piece exploring the positives and negatives of two different choices
I am happy to do Ogham readings confidentially via email -- just email me at k steele studio at gmail during the allotted time/before deadline. I cannot answer health questions. If you have a question about health or another sensitive, private matter, provide a bunch of non-identifying information and the Ogham will be able to figure it out even if I don't. I'm serious... the Ogham actually tend to "know" things without me being privy to what is going on.
Please note I take time off during Solstices and Equinoxes for Druid stuff and because sometimes I simply need a break.
My next planned break is from Saturday, December 21, 2024 - Friday, January 3, 2025.

Date: 2024-11-08 07:22 pm (UTC)To share: Last week I used the example of your readings to teach a woman at the bookstore who had just purchased her first Tarot deck how to do 3 card spreads. The syntax is different, but between the related experience of your readings, the little white book, and experimental readings we did for each other, I hopefully managed to get her started on a good basis.
The three card spread I did for her turned out to be Death, Hanged Man, and Justice, all reversed. And in conversation, she shared that she was ending certain personal things, was about to go on a trip for a new perspective, and the last card didn't make much sense at the time, but she was going to be careful with the law and take it as homework to figure out. Your comments on reversed cards as well as all reversed spreads were useful to preempt certain superstitions, and instead present your balanced/unbalanced schema.
I am still mulling over the five card spread she did for me, but it did have a sense of gestalt unity with motifs interplaying between cards. It was arranged as a five of dice layout, as I understood it, the first two cards detailed the You, the second two cards detailed the Situation, and the last card in the middle detailed the Outcome that unified all the cards. As it were, the spread (Moon, 3 Swords, 8 Swords, 9 Swords, 2 Swords, with 3 swords reversed from the others, so it could be all reversed with 3 swords upright) did play out this week, so I thank you for teaching by example the methods of interpretation which allowed me to teach in turn.
To ask: What is it that I need to know this week, according to the Ogham?

Date: 2024-11-08 08:35 pm (UTC)a) Do your ogham like the time I’ve elected to send my proposal?
b) Are the planetary gods willing to offer their guidance and assistance to me in attempting to improve my life?
c) A few years back, I had a strange intuitive sense, which thankfully did not happen then. Similar circumstances are repeating now, and on a number of occasions before, my intuition got the event right but the time completely wrong, and something I intuitively knew would happen did not at the time I got the intuition, but instead happened many years later. Is this another one of those?

Thank you.

2. Do I need to increase my exercise routine still more at this time? I’ve been told that I really need to get energy out of my system and it feels like I need to work out three times a day for that to be effective.

Caring for Aged Mother
Date: 2024-11-09 08:45 pm (UTC)My sister recently moved my 87-year-old mother from assisted living into her and her husband's home. Historically, Mom was emphatic that she did NOT want to live with any of her children. That's clearly now changed. At this point, Mom has multiple health issues. She is off all meds, at her request, and she wants to die sooner rather than later. She's just plain done. So:
1) Is her current living situation with my sister likely to help her obtain what she wants?
2) What can be done to best contribute to Mom's comfort and contentment?
3) What can be done to assist my sister in this new situation?
Thanks as always,
Valerie
Re: Princess Cutekitten
Date: 2024-11-09 09:31 pm (UTC)You drew three cards for this week. For the You position, you drew Ngetal or Hygiene ill-dignified. Straight up, this card can indicate danger and/or ill-health, so be aware of risks this week and take extra precautions especially when in the presence of sources of contagion. Sometimes this card can also be a reminder to clean up your act, whether that is physically or mentally. William Blake said "you become what you behold", which means you've got to change the images filtering into your brain if you want your brain to change accordingly.
For the Situation, you drew Ruis or Regret well-dignified. You are tough enough not to be dragged into the astral morass when someone wants to project their guilt and other shadows onto you. This doesn't mean they won't try to do it; only that you've been inoculated to that sort of thing. You take responsibility when you are truly culpable and other than that, you walk away.
For the Outcome, you drew Eadha or Limits well-dignified. You may not have all you want, but you have all you need. The majority of people, and this very much includes people with mammoth fortunes, are dissatisfied with what they have despite having all they need and more. There are very few people on this planet who know how to live in the moment enough to not always be a leaky faucet dripping "Buts". "But" if I only had that and if I only had this... "But" why does she not have to worry about that and I do? "But" what if I had not done that years ago... You get the picture. This week offers the opportunity to appreciate all you have instead of wallowing in "buts". And yes, the jokes truly write themselves if we add an extra letter T.

Date: 2024-11-09 09:47 pm (UTC)This week may be a bit of a doozy. All three cards were ill-dignified and one of them is a danger card.
For the You position, you drew Huath or Obstacles. This one is the aforementioned danger card in my Ogham. You'll want to be careful about physically dangerous situations, especially around machinery and metal. Other than that, Huath tends to be an imbalance of Martial force. Beware of predators, including humans who want to take advantage of your good nature. If and when you are feeling particularly pissy, be prudent and moderate with what you say. Less is more. Remember that when you give someone a fight, it is often exactly what they were looking for because their energy needs opposition in order to grow stronger. On the other side of imbalance, you could find that you don't have much in the way of mojo, drive, or motivation. Choose your battles very carefully and eliminate what needs to go.
For the Situation, you drew Duir or Gifts. There is no truly bad side to Duir, but when ill-dignified, it can be talking about gifts going unused or privilege being taken for granted. Since this is Situation, it could be talking about a loved one or people you have to deal with this week. At its best, a Duir imbalance means generosity overflows that was neither asked for nor expected. If the gifts are given from the heart, they sublimate in various forms to the power of seven. This is how small gifts become huge as they reverberate through the planes.
For the Outcome, you drew Ailm or Transcendence. Papering over the negative is as bad as the opposite imbalance of nihilism. Neither reflects the truth, which is always somewhere in the middle. Happy slappy people cannot be trusted -- we never know if they are lying or naive. Nihilists are unbearable and nothing can change their mind about the awfulness of the world. Look at this week's challenges with a cold, untinged eye. Find three positives for every negative while preserving the truth of the negative. It is still there and accounted for. Focusing on the positive while respecting the negative will heal your heart and your approach.

Date: 2024-11-09 09:58 pm (UTC)a)The Ogham don't care for the timing. They provide Muin or Harvest ill-dignified. Maybe try another month -- this one might not mesh with your natal horoscope. Muin tends to be about seasons for reasons I am sure you can understand. The season you have chosen isn't quite right.
b)My Ogham like it. They give Gort or Perseverance well-dignified, which indicates you can get a good start with the Hellenic gods. These spill over into and are arguably the same deities as the planetary gods. You will have to exact a great deal of discipline over yourself. The Hellenic deities will be happy to help you with this. Sometimes I feel the Hellenic deities are especially accessible because of the popularity of Greek mythology.
c) My Ogham think it is another nothingburger. They give Luis or Protection well-dignified. If it is any consolation, my Ogham seem to be able to predict the future accurately except for timing. Nevertheless, you know what they say... Timing is everything!!

Date: 2024-11-09 10:15 pm (UTC)My Ogham give three cards in attempt to answer your question.
For the main card, they give Gort or Perseverance ill-dignified. Seems accurate -- we've all had it up to HERE and at least for the time being, it's all still circling the drain. There has been a great deal of damage inflicted by globalist interests that is still being dished out in heaping portions.
For the Situation, it is Coll or Wisdom ill-dignified. Censorship has been lifted to some degree in the States: I can type the word "vaccine" now on Facebook and not get banned. That said, there is still a ton of censorship, especially when it comes to hiding celebrity malfeasance or anything Blackrock might be behind, such as the Appalachian floods of Helena and western fires. My Ogham think that censorship will continue in Canada almost unabated. Coll is also about being forced to suffer one or more fools, and that is exactly what is happening in Canada. The Canadian people have had it arguably worse than the US for the last decade with no 4 year reprieve in 2016.
For the Outcome, the Ogham give Straif or Resilience well-dignified. This one gladdens my heart. It is through resilience that Canada will defeat Castro Jr. and his minions. I have suggested to every Canadian I know to start resiliency groups online and off. My Speakeasy Illinois group that went around the Covid restrictions by recommending freedom-loving establishments should be replicated in every Canadian town and city. They'll never know you went around them until it is far too late. Canadians are a pragmatic people -- now that is something you can build upon. I have also said many times the spirit of the land in Canada does not seem at all amenable to communism.

Date: 2024-11-09 10:31 pm (UTC)You drew three cards this week.
For the You position, you drew Straif or Resilience well-dignified. This week will test your failsafes and it could be a bit exhausting. The Ogham think you are ready for it both mentally and physically. It's a good week to absorb the lesson of what true resilience means. True resilience is a balance between paranoia and throwing caution to the wind. Ah, Meatworld, always testing us.
For the Situation, you drew Phagos or Teaching well-dignified. Though you may have to suffer fools (or at best people who are not complete fools but who decide to temporarily take on foolish acts) you do it with grace, saying only what needs to be said. This week is an opportunity to expand your wisdom via observation and your skill via relentless practice.
For the Outcome, you drew Ioho or Grace well-dignified. You may have to defer, to put aside your own needs and wants, and to allow what is not meant to be (or what is not meant for you) to slip away. At the end of your incarnation, you will regret all the times you were petty, shallow, grumpy, parsimonious, inconsiderate, and cold to your loved ones. These loved ones can and do include pets, objects, and spirits of place. You will never regret when you were generous, fair, mature, considerate, measured, or thoughtful.
My Ogham like what you are doing with the exercise routine as it stands. They give Ruis or Regret ill-dignified. 3x a day sounds excessive unless you are training to be an Olympian. If you have excess energy in your system (only you can possibly know if you do) then you should find a way to ground it, and that means going outside and doing mostly slow, plodding things that involve plunging your hands or feet in dirt/Earth.

Date: 2024-11-09 10:49 pm (UTC)For 1, they give Saille or Sensitivity well-dignified. Saille is the card of the divine feminine. In my Ogham deck, it tends to be Aphrodite's calling card. Since I know one of your goals is to attract and keep a spouse, this one may be good for that. Saille is alignment to feminine wisdom and goddess energy.
For 2, they give Tinne or Defense well-dignified. Obviously, this one is good from a protective aspect. It is also Ares or Mars calling card in my Ogham. This is a good one when you need to rally your energy and face your own failings in an honest, earnest way that pleases the gods.
For 3, they give Ioho or Grace well-dignified. This is more of a contemplative, mature invocation of inner resolve. This one will help you let go of what is not meant to be. When you need to cultivate proper detachment (unlike some Buddhists, whom I think are prone to using detachment as a form of toxic escapism) is not to detach from everything, at least not all at once.
For 4, they give Ngetal or Hygiene ill-dignified. This one may be fine for someone else. It's not for you. For you, it brings the wrong energy and might even present a bit of danger. Skip this one -- the other choices are all decent depending on what you need most to do right now.

Date: 2024-11-09 11:05 pm (UTC)1. I made one impulse decision this past Friday that it seems like I can’t renege on and I must just follow through on it, Hanged Man style. Is that correct?
2. I was told earlier in life that what would bring me the most lasting happiness in life is a devoted partner. I have frequent delusions around that area of my life that got worse since that revelation. I won’t ask “will I / won’t I” with regards to partnership, because I am sure my actions henceforth affect that (I’m just approaching my third decade) and because I’m not sure how helpful that answer is. What I will ask is - regardless of everything outside my control, should I act in a way that aligns with being a lovable person and mature human that someone would want to spend their life with, though ebbs and flows? Your blog’s advice on how to attract a partner, I am going to follow henceforth as seems suitable. So budget-conscious, keeps a clean household and healthy physical state, relates well with the community of people and spirits around them, and practices spiritual and Stoic virtues like meditation, journaling, and frequent acts of gratitude. (This should be a clear “Yes,” but I guess I just need a little confirmation to forge ahead.)
3. Outside of exercise and yard work, is there any sort of creative activity I should pursue? Since those are both earthy activities, and exercise involves fire too, my question is if I should do a more watery or airy activity. Or is socializing with others enough?

Date: 2024-11-09 11:43 pm (UTC)My Ogham give you three cards this coming week. Fair warning: though it may seem rosy at the outset, all well-dig readings can be tricky. Smooth sailing is not guaranteed; the Ogham are saying you'll tend to have a good sense of prevention and quick course-correction if you put your mind to it.
For the You position, you drew Muin or Harvest. You are seeing the logical results of past and ongoing good decisions. Your good work may help someone else to correct their mistake. It's also possible someone (this can include a divine power) will help you ameliorate or correct a bad decision in your past. Your goal should be to share the bounty you have this week, no matter what that is. For me, I am not a woman of great means but I do have lots of talents, so those tend to be what I try to put out there.
For the Situation, you drew Mór or Sea. This is a card of the general astral environment around you. Like the weather, this is not anything you caused on your own and it is not a thing you can or should control. You have fair sailing ahead. You can take advantage of this by doing the kind of self-work (often self-accountability) that requires a level head. You can also look far into the past and future and start determining what the best direction for your energy looks like.
For the Outcome, you drew Beith or Beginnings. With the previous two cards helping, this looks to me like an excellent week to prune the things from your life that are keeping you from self-realization and fulfillment, or at least to begin the pruning process. Every little thing you get rid of helps you refocus power on that which is most important to you.

Date: 2024-11-09 11:52 pm (UTC)My Ogham say you'll need to cultivate grace to steer this thing forward and avoid imbalance.
For "What do I need to know?" they give Ioho or Grace well-dignified. The most important thing you can do is to let go of what is not for you, what is past its prime, and what is not meant to be. When you do this with deference and respect, it shows uncommon maturity. For anything new to be born, something old must give way and die. What can you sacrifice in order to push more energy into this endeavor? What are you willing to give up?
For the "What do I need to do?" question, they give Resilience or Straif ill-dignified. You will have to learn to put up with strife, conflict, stress, and to deal with your fears in a logical way that is part material and part mental. Materially, learn to do more with less. Waste not, want not. Prioritize quality and durability over efficiency. Mentally, don't count the chickens before they are hatched. Plan ahead, prepare for thin times just in case.

Re: Caring for Aged Mother
Date: 2024-11-10 04:18 am (UTC)Wow, this sounds like a tough situation to go through. It's good that your mother has her mind made up though.
My Ogham have three cards for you.
1) Yes, my Ogham think it is for the best. They provide Koad or Confluence well-dignified. The convergence of certain streams of fate make this the best decision for all parties, including you. I don't know if you followed what Sara Greer, JMG's wife, decided to do when her organs were failing and the end was drawing near. It's called VSED, "voluntarily stopped eating and drinking". I had no idea such a thing existed, but once I looked into it, it made a great deal of sense because that's what mammals do when they go off alone and die.
2) My Ogham give Beith or Beginnings inverted for this. It's time to go with the flow -- that means letting bygones be bygones, not mentioning any unpleasantness, and gently helping her to get ready for the journey ahead. From what dead people have told me, most people will find that two helper spirits arrive at the moment of death to guide the newly dead person to the next "world", which is really just a transition point between planes. The hardest thing for the newly dead person to do will be accept the errors made in life and to accept the responsibility of them with grace. It is the grace with which these errors are accepted that determine the velocity of the bounce through the higher planes before the next reincarnation. This can be crudely interpreted as "time in hell followed by time in heaven". Your mom may not be ready to discuss any of this responsibility before she dies, especially not with you, however, once she has passed through the Gates, her higher self will most likely reach out to you to talk about it.
3)They give Onn or Community ill-dignified for your sister, which tells me your sister can be stand-offish and difficult. Your best bet is to leave the ball in her court, and to let her assume control over this situation as she is shouldering the largest burden. If your sister is OK with you doing neighborly things such as bringing over a casserole or handling some chores, that would probably be the best olive branch you could offer.

Date: 2024-11-10 04:45 am (UTC)Sure, the Ogham would like to try and help.
For 1) it's a Yes. The Ogham think you should follow through. Let it be a lesson to say NO next time, or at least take NO into heavy consideration. They give Quert or Delight well-dignified. Quert is a card of courtesy, propriety, and manners. Keep it as light and lively as possible, and don't go any further than the simple agreement which must have a definite and agreed upon end.
For 2) You're right, it's a Yes. The Ogham give Gort or Perseverance well-dignified, meaning that it is highly likely you'll find a good partner if you go down the road of self-improvement, refusing to buy into sexual manipulation schemes, knowing yourself, practicing moderation in all things, and becoming thoroughly grateful. The grateful person is irresistible -- everyone wants to be appreciated, and the grateful person radiates appreciation at all times.
For 3) My Ogham give Phagos or Teaching. Phagos is the card of mental mastery. What subject were you great at in school? Where do your natural talents lie? My Ogham think you should focus on one of those great talents. In my own case, I showed early talent as a writer. My fifth grade teacher marveled at my "way with words". I also had a lot of propensity to be a musician as a kid. There are things that it would have been a shame if I had not done something with them. My brother was always chatty and gregarious (he ended up in the right job, he manages restaurants) and could truly spike a volleyball. What are your special niche talents?

Date: 2024-11-10 04:47 am (UTC)ETA: I do recall that John Carter fellow believing that there would be another fraud Blitzkrieg, but a successful Blitzkrieg usually requires the elements of stealth and surprise, and too many people were watching too closely this time. Also, Republicans had their own legion of lawyers standing by ready to engage in some "lawfare" around this election, if that would prove to be necessary.

Date: 2024-11-10 05:01 am (UTC)You and the family drew three cards this week. All were well-dignified. I know that seems like a bed of roses on the outset, but watch the thorns. All well-dig readings can turn into doozies, they are just a little less likely to do that than mixed or all ill-dig readings.
For the You card, you drew Gort or Perseverance. There has been a lull in the storm and the measures you put in place held strong. It's OK to relax a little and rest on your laurels as long as you exercise moderation. This is a good week to meditate on what kept you going through the darkest of times -- how you saw the bright side, how you made the best out of what you had, and how you kept your sense of humor.
For the Situation, you drew Ur or Intimacy. You are a close knit group and I hope it lasts for a very long time. Families today are extremely atomized, especially as children grow into adults, and I think it is sad. Remember that what is not said is more important than what IS said in a relationship. It is the unsaid love through actions and consideration that act as relationship glue. We don't have to know every detail about each other in the physical or even the astral. The spiritual selves know and even the most enlightened person can only be barely conscious of that.
For the Outcome, you drew Huath or Obstacles. Huath is a danger card in my Ogham, even when well-dignified, so take my usual warning about being watchful and risk adverse. Nastiness, opposition, or drama may present its ugly head this week, but Huath in this dignity means you are likely to handle it with the proper amount of maturely-dealt force. There also may be a task that you need to meet with a great deal of fire energy, and that can be anything from strenuous chores to dealings with other people or even some kind of danger that must be faced.
