I am happy to read your Ogham free of charge -- that's how I hone my divination skills. I take reading requests until 8pm Central Time (Chicago Illinois USA) on Sunday night. Please limit your reading request to four or fewer Ogham cards: though this can take many forms, here are some common ones:
-a single three card reading for the week or month and a one-off, one card reading
-four questions about four separate items that require one answer (card) per item
-a one card reading to answer a specific question and a three card for a more nuanced question
-Two separate readings, two cards a piece exploring the positives and negatives of two different choices

Though I am flattered that people want readings after the deadline, I decline reading requests made after 8pm Central Time on Sunday night without exception.

Eclipse related: is DL a good place to observe the eclipse, or should I seek somewhere closer to I or to CL?

Date: 2024-04-07 06:46 am (UTC)Feedback: Tinne ill-dig last week referred to still being unable to stir up conflict when needed, even if the situation seems to be one where conflict is unwelcome. It may also mean not taking enough risks in my life, although Huath may stand for that better - one of my struggles is being able to take genuine risks. Gort well-dig appears to commend me for pushing forward with a personal search that hasn’t netted results yet - I may end that search soon, but part of me wonders if I should still hold off on making a final decision yet until later this month. And Ngetal ill-dig - one of my flaws is enjoying food a little too much and overeating, especially if I’m stressed. Food also seems to get in the way of me expressing the fiery energy necessary to engage in conflict. But I did better this week in moderating my diet than in past weeks, and your recommendations for addressing etheric starvation have helped me much. Thanks for those!

2. I’m trying to widdle down the things I focus on working on in my life - which is paired with myself fighting to add more stuff to my to-do list in life! Nevertheless, the former needs to win out, and one thing I can do is narrow my meditation topics down. I can meditate on astrology, teachings of wise philosophers, divination, or just imagine challenges I could encounter and how they aren’t as difficult as my mind anticipated them to be. Is there a topic your Ogham recommend I focus my meditations on at this time?

I bought a deck of cards but my deck does not specify if the card is ill dignified or well dignified. Would you suggest that I buy a different set of ogham such as runes that I can notch to clarify...or is this something that can be elucidated simply via meditation?

I love that country and would like to go back to that particular city, but recently I've become very uneasy about the idea of traveling abroad...Maybe it's just me reading too many news of what's really going on in the world (yeah no MSM), planes falling apart, whatever...

Mercury Retrograde Remainder

I dislike intensely anything related to homemaking, *especially* cleaning so I very much need a new way of framing these tasks to make them more palatable and, if possible, make them something I can graciously accept as being good for me.
Wondering if you and the Ogham can suggest some guidance for making the most of the remaining Mercury Retrograde period we're in. I have a few specific commitments that need to be made during this time (and a bit of local travel) so want to be mindful of making the best of this time. [I'm a reasonably strong "Mercury" person; both sun and rising sign are in Mercury signs, so I tend to be quite curious about Mercury more than anything else -- generally not fearful].
In the past, you and the Ogham have been very helpful with work-related questions; your advice has been spot-on. A new opportunity has recently come on my radar. I have the skill set for the position, though would have to reframe my experience to fit their description of what they're looking for, which is fine. Wondering if the Ogham have a point-of-view about suitability and likeliness of succeeding if I apply.

Last week, she and her union rep had a meeting with five upper level managers and HR, concerning a bad manager and the toxic work environment he has created over the past few years. Her staff is counting on her, and she's done her best to help all of them. The questions are:
1) How do these upper level managers and HR perceive her at this time?
2) Will they retaliate, and if so, how?
3) How can she best protect herself and her staff?

For the You position, you drew Ioho or Grace ill-dignified. Grace in this dignity means that you will need to take a gentler and more deferent approach. Don't go gonzo unless you are absolutely sure. Err on the side of quietness and observation. Know when to let go, but don't make that think you shouldn't try. Just think it through as much as possible.
For the Situation, you drew Luis or Protection ill-dignified. This card in this dignity can mean danger in my Ogham, so be warned and take extra safety precautions this week. Being overprotective often has hidden dangers, with my favorite pet example being when people with kids move to the suburbs for safety and then end up in schools full of materialists and bullies and kids who chat with online perverts because they never go outside (too many cars). Don't let the illusions of safety and security fool you into thinking they are the real thing.
For the Outcome, you drew Oir or Epiphany well-dignified. A realization or revelation of one of the truths of the world is coming your way. Though this card is upright, it could still be painful. Oir is the kind of knowledge that is always necessary yet can be like pulling a sliver out of an inflamed thumb.
As for observing the eclipse at DL, they don't care for it and give Phagos or Teaching ill-dignified. You would be better off choosing somewhere else.

As for your existing cards, maybe just add a sticker dot (like the kind that get used in garage sales) to the bottom of each card and that way you'll know which end is the bottom. Or if you're feeling bold, color both bottom corners or the entire bottom edge of each card in ink.
Personally I find it is easier to just know if they are well- or ill-dignified.
I made my Ogham tiles by ordering some small wood pieces from a seller on Etsy and then using a woodburning tool to inscribe them with the tree letters. I also have a set of Ogham sticks a dear friend gave to me but it lacks the Forfedha (the last five of the twenty-five) so I am going to have to make the five final sticks for it, again with the woodburning tool.

Since Gemini season is coming up, I asked them about May/June for a launch as it is ruled by Mercury, god of communication, and you could launch on Mercury's hour, day, and month during the waxing moon. My Ogham like that a great deal. They give Ailm or Transcendence well-dignified, meaning that good magical timing would help you overcome difficulty and stand out in the crowd.

Other than that, this talks about being pragmatic but not to the point where you are a stick in the mud. You've helped someone, emanated positivity, or generally have been good and kind where there were certainly worse choices. You owe yourself a treat and a break, and this is the Divine's way of telling you to take a moment to enjoy yourself.
For the Situation, you drew Ngetal or Hygiene ill-dignified. Etheric starvation is the commonest condition of our time and this week you are suffering from it. It can cause everything from bad health to depression, so making efforts to combat is one of those necessities of life. I recommend trying to get sunlight on your spleen area (area under the heart). Personally, I try to sit under sunbeams as I lift up my shirt. You can feel it working. Homemade food is another remedy, and there's always the tree energy exchange if you can find a tree.
For the Outcome, you drew Eadha or Limits ill-dignified. Recognizing limits will help you and ignoring them will bite you. There are some people where all they have is their little box. It's not your job to spring them, because even if you opened it up, they would not know how to leave. They give Onn or Community well-dignified, and that means that the trip will be a wonderful time and that the city would welcome you as an old friend. Personally, I am not fond of travel and I doubt I would travel even if I had the money, but my Ogham don't see this particular trip as a bad thing for you and think you should consider going.
My Ogham like the course. They give Gort or Perseverance well-dignified, which means the course has good information that you'll use for a very long time and is worth sticking with.

It will be easy to dismiss someone who has a disagreement with you somewhere, and this can include sources of information or knowledge from the past. A broken clock is right twice a day and sometimes that is enough to be helpful. Stuckness, inertia, frustration, and spinning your wheels characterize this week's woes.
For the Situation, you drew Luis or Protection well-dignified. I will utter my usual warning about danger as this card can imply it. Other than that, this is you and those close to you listening to their higher selves. It's not always easy to listen, of course, because the lower self is much more appealing. For the You card, they provide Saille or Sensitivity well-dignified. They think you are a natural mystic and sensitive. In my own case, I used to think of myself as insensitive to the spirit world when my real problem was oversensitivity and massive circuit-frying that led to severe burnout. Once I learned to harness my own sensitivity, I became a much happier and more well-adjusted person, and as a bonus, I became more empathetic to the needs of others without suffering burnout from the connections.
For the Situation, they give Duir or Gifts ill-dignified. There is no bad side to Duir. When ill-dignified, it means an excess of gifts. Your cup runneth over. You're gifted, but being gifted isn't always as easy as it sounds on paper.
For the Outcome, you drew Gort or Perseverance ill-dignified. Like many, your problem is that of the lazy musician: you need more daily practice. Mysticism must become a habit for you even when you are not feeling well. Trimming down some areas of your life, perhaps owning less stuff, and focusing on what you truly love at the direct expense of what you are lukewarm about will help you to blossom.

I asked what the Ogham thought in general of this opportunity for you and they give Eadha or Limits ill-dignified. This is not as comfortable as it looks and though you may have the skill set, those behind this opportunity may seek to exploit you. Personally, I once had my skill set mercilessly exploited with no pay -- I was in my 20s and naive. It was not a positive experience despite me being well-suited to the work. As for the suitability, they give Fearn or Bridge ill-dignified, meaning this work does not help you do what you want to do in your heart and it may be plagued by bad apples who cause a Lowest Common Denominator effect. My Ogham don't think you'll succeed if you apply, or that if you do make the cut, the relationship will quickly turn unhealthy. They give Ngetal or Hygiene ill-dignified, which indicates that your boundaries would not be respected.

Overcoming negative thought patterns and small triumphs over bad habits is likely this week, so build upon your strength and give thanks for help from the Divine. As the drop of water said that eventually became the river that carved the Grand Canyon, "You've got to start somewhere."

This is one of my Ogham's danger cards, so I utter my usual warning about being risk-adverse and not running across the wood floor in socks. Understanding healthy boundaries and where you end and someone else begins goes a long way in transforming you into a likeable friend with good vibes. What is not said is just as important as what is said. Don't speak your entire mind -- your reserve is what builds your character.
For the Outcome, you drew Luis or Protection ill-dignified. This again is a danger card, so be doubly aware of risk this week. Your higher self wants to connect with you. It is always there. When you have guilt, the important part is not to wallow in it, because if all you do is wallow, guilt teaches you nothing. Instead of wallowing, say "I am not proud of that, and that is why I don't do that anymore" and go do one of your positive habits.

In the case of impatience, you'll just have to chill. For question No. 1, the Ogham give Ioho or Grace ill-dignified. They see your sis as a stick in the mud, austere, and they are mad at her in the way a spoiled child becomes furious with Mommy. They think of her as old fashioned and as an obstacle. Her best strategy is to epitomize their worst fears and to be the implacable, immovable Saturnine force that keeps them awake at night.
For question No. 2, the Ogham give Onn or Community ill-dignified. They will act like junior high brats and try to exclude her from the clique. They will try to use petty emotions and ridicule to get their way.
For question No. 3, my Ogham don't know if she can protect herself and her staff. They give Eadha or Limits ill-dignified. Corporate positions where anyone is being paid an actual wage large enough to support a family are dog eat dog environments. Musical chairs and the music gets faster, faster, faster. She has to be ready for anything, and unfortunately that means fighting tooth and nail and playing dirty. When my husband was fighting for his salary class job, he had to expose all sorts of hideous people for their sleaziness and he had to defy their authority. Eventually he jockeyed to a position where he answered only to the CEO... shortly after that the company went under. She should prepare to be ruthless... Queen Elizabeth without the actual hit men. She still may not win. She needs to have a total worst case scenario bug out plan in place at all times in case of catastrophic collapse. Hopefully she will never have to use it.

For the You position, the Ogham provide Phagos or Teaching ill-dignified. There is a great deal you don't know about what was going on in her head, and that can be a source of frustration. The Ogham suggest you let it go and consult the Divine for help getting over it. I recommend propitiating to Apollo and Aphrodite. Apollo can help you build your own character and goodness and Aphrodite can help heal your heart.
For the Situation (her), they give Straif or Resilience well-dignified. This was the best thing you could do for your ex-girlfriend as she would not have had the willpower to do it. Whenever you set someone free to their destiny, you turn your own trash into what may be someone else's treasure. It's selfish to continue a relationship just so you don't feel so alone. By standing on your own two feet and forcing her not to lean on you, you give a gift that may not seem like much now but will be very valuable in the future.
For the Outcome, you drew Koad or Confluence ill-dignified. It is going to be tempting to rebound right away. The Ogham recommend against it as you are not at your strongest. Turning inwards is your best bet right now -- seek help from the Divine first and other mortals second, third, or fourth.

Date: 2024-04-10 03:47 am (UTC)I am finding that even if I am only the first month into my divination practice and it doesn't seem to be anything other than obscure, the daily practice of sitting down and setting some time to meditate and ponder about my day and where I fit into it has been something I actually look forward to whereas before I dreaded setting this time aside to do so. I'm still in the phase where I am not sure if it is my mind that is tricking me or if there's something that's actually happening responding to my queries. Regardless, I am finding comfort in the practice itself and I am no longer focused on what the end goal is. It seems to me much more like an experiment and that fascination with the world again that I had as a child because it's opening up possibilities for what there may be in the greater cosmos even if I am not sure that they actually do exist (in the more scientifically inclined way I am trained to look, something intuitively feels more at ease believing we do live in an ecosystem of entities).
