Ogham Readings on Sundays

I am happy to read your Ogham free of charge -- that's how I hone my divination skills. I take reading requests until 8pm Central Time (Chicago Illinois USA) on Sunday night.  Please limit your reading request to four or fewer Ogham cards: though this can take many forms, here are some common ones:

 

-a single three card reading for the week or month and a one-off, one card reading

-four questions about four separate items that require one answer (card) per item
-a one card reading to answer a specific question and a three card for a more nuanced question
-Two separate readings, two cards a piece exploring the positives and negatives of two different choices

 

Though I am flattered that people want readings after the deadline, I decline reading requests made after 8pm Central Time on Sunday night without exception.

Please note I take time off during Solstices and Equinoxes for Druid stuff and because sometimes I simply need a break.  My next planned break is the week of Sunday, March 24.

And two, just out of curiosity, I'm wondering if you have any thoughts on the upcoming solar eclipse that you might be willing to share, either now or in the near future? There seems to be a lot of chatter about the event and its meaning and I'm wondering if you've done any divination or otherwise received insight on the matter. I am trying to make a decision about returning to an organization I've been involved with in the past, but there's a lot of astral clutter these days and it's best if I pass this divination off to someone else.

What does your Ogham say about this decision?

Since it seems to be the hour of Venus where I am -- but the app that calculates it always gets a bit scrambled around the time of DST, so I can't be sure -- I'll say a prayer to her for the success of your sacred homemaking project. Please let me know if the book comes out and I'll buy it! Judging from the lessons on here so far it is a good project that will enrich peoples' lives.

My Ogham think this is a good relationship.

For the You card, they provide Uilleand or Generosity ill-dignified. This shows that you may have a tendency to molly-coddle or smother your mate. You will need to limit yourself and preserve your independent spirit. Needing to constantly hear "I love you", either on its own or spurred by a declaration of the same, can be a real turnoff. Not that you shouldn't say it at least once a day, but it can become toxic when it's being said constantly because it loses its meaning. Instead, demonstrate love through acts. Gratitude when someone cleans up after you or cooks you dinner is best expressed by cleaning up after yourself, returning the favor by tidying up without being asked, or cleaning the dishes along with a heartfelt thanks and curbing your criticism of the meal. For instance, if someone washes your socks for you, start turning them right side out so the person doing the laundry does not have to do that extra step. Small, generous acts add up.

For the Situation, you drew Muin or Harvest well-dignified. This one symbolizes the person you are in a long term relationship. You both have "earned" each other. This person continues to work on making himself/herself a better person. As long as you do that, the relationship will prosper and flourish until its natural end. Also, a sense of humor is always the demon-slayer of relationships. During the darkest times, preserve a sense of humor at all costs.

For the Outcome, you drew Ioho or Grace well-dignified. Your relationship is likely to be very long-lived and beneficial for you both. Essentially this one shows aging gracefully together, letting go of the old with style and minimum drama to make way for the new.

Greetings Kimberly! Thanks as always for your readings.

For feedback: I believe I did address Quiert ill-dig well by taking some opportunities to rest, but I also sought out help from people I know can help me in rough times, and that was crucial. Muin ill-dig - I know what it’s in reference to, there’s not much I believe I can do but to persevere through the bad harvest I’ve reaped or walk a different path that circumvents it. I feel the best path, though, is the former: “The impediment to action advances action.” As for Luis well-dig for the outcome: Your Ogham said the challenges I experienced over the last few months were all tasking me with connecting to my Higher Self. I can be honest and say I fell short of many of them, and I feel spiritually a bit drifting in my life at this present moment. Which to be fair, happens to everyone at some point because it’s not all a constant journey of road bumps. Nevertheless, I am trying to act *now* and plan changes I implement today and tomorrow to build myself towards becoming the better being I know I can be. Starting with analyzing my mea culpas.

This week shows much positive potential for you: all three cards were well-dignified.

For the You position, you drew Ur or Intimacy. You are refining your ability to keep your mouth shut and learning how to tailor your demeanor in ways that move with the time, person, and place instead of against them. Despite the general positivity of this card, keep a tight leash on your mouth and be careful of withdrawing too much or over-giving and over-sharing in a way that is great for others but not good for you.

For the Situation, you drew Onn or Community. Your expectations of semi-strangers, including some family, friends, co-workers, townspeople, helpers, etc. is realistic. You treat them fairly and they return the favor. Keep in mind, you may have to be the one to prevail with a level head, so be ready just in case.

For the Outcome, you drew Tinne or Defense. Any time this card shows up, no matter what the dignity, I issue a warning that you need to keep your defenses up. This means guarding your health and safety in an extra vigilant way. Luck is on your side but you don't want to be in need of luck. Other than that, this talks about your healthy sense of boundaries and how drawing healthy limits defends you and those within your inner circle.

As for the eclipse, they say it isn't what people assume it is. They give Duir or Gifts well-dignified, which lets me know this eclipse is oddly benevolent. Those who dwell in the mucky part of the lower astral will find their agendas either nullified or imploded. Those who do spiritual work as a rule will be either unaffected or spared most of the drama. So what I would look for is the greedy and insecure to get unusually frantic and desperate, for some prominent demonic materialists to either become physically diminished or to pop the mortal coil altogether, and for people doing spiritual work to perhaps experience a small hiccup but otherwise pass through what can be soundly called a nothingburger.

My Ogham are not too keen on the decision. They provide Oir or Epiphany ill-dignified, meaning what seems a good idea at the time will reveal its massive fissures only when it is too late.

My Ogham say notifying R works better. They give Beith or Intention well-dignified, which means the formulation of the choice is more sound and because it is more honest, earnest, and positive, that is what helps carry it through to the other side.

For not notifying R, they aren't so hot on it. They give Coll or Wisdom ill-dignified, which means R should know and that it is much fairer to everyone involved.

My Ogham say it's not likely to be good regardless of if/how they respond. They give Quert or Delight ill-dignified, meaning there may be some issues with the job itself that would explain why it was posted so long ago. Quert in this dignity could also mean that a response either won't be forthcoming or that it won't lead anywhere productive.

For the You position, you drew Ioho or Grace ill-dignified. It's time to let go of what no longer serves you or what has become old and wants to give way. Yes, this is a rather vague pronouncement from my Ogham and can point to a motley buffet of emotional attachment issues. Maybe it's about hoarding physical stuff, aging gracefully, phasing toxic habits or people out of your life, or some other matter of grace. Whatever it is, it is time. This one also tells you to prioritize rest and respect your own needs.

For the Situation, you drew Ur or Intimacy well-dignified. You are learning the ropes of when to speak and to whom you should speak it. This is an important lesson of incarnation, possibly the most important of all for those of us who must communicate (pretty much all beings must communicate to someone). It's OK to leave out more than you include and to tailor a mask to each individual. Life is about masking and there is a big difference between sparing someone's feelings and lying as a pathology.

For the Outcome, you drew Ailm or Transcendence ill-dignified. Some depression looks like it is in the forecast and you need to let yourself have room to be depressed. Of course, it always helps to play the Glad Game and see the nearly invisible silver threads (not even enough to be called a lining to those clouds). Acknowledge that melancholy is the natural human condition -- nothing wrong with that! but also that a sense of humor can save the day.

I have enjoyed music for a long time. Used to accumulate gads of records and CD’s, and attend live performances too. Much of my taste was more old-school so I’m not hip with many new acts. I now see though how my collecting habit became a materialistic endless pit of wanting every good album I heard and to hear every other good album I hadn’t heard. I sold off much of my collection.

Butvmusic remains joyful and important to me and I want to support the artists I like or perhaps new musicians upcoming. What do you and the Ogham think I should do? I know artists sell merchandise to support themselves - seems that just as materialistic as buying the records, but maybe the artists have little choice but to support themselves with that.

For your questions, the Ogham provide...

Is it destiny? Yes. They give Tinne or Defense well-dignified, which indicates you are being shielded by your own Holy Guardian Angel as well as your unique ecosystem. It's important to keep your knowledge mostly to yourself and not to worry about what others think of your course in life.

Is it desire? Yes. My Ogham give you Mor or Sea, which is to say this "choice" is not something you can help. It's in your blood and soul. You cannot help this any better than water can help being wet or bears can avoid pooping in the woods. Choice has some role, naturally, as it does in all human lives, but to fight this would be foolish.

For the Something else? question, they say No. Destiny and desire are quite enough. They give Ioho or Grace ill-dignified, which indicates that you should seriously consider giving up activities, lifestyle choices, etc. that distract from your chosen course. This sounds very grave but let's frame it another way: I have had to give up most handicrafts because I just don't have time to do them and to get better at music. Forbidding myself from excessive time spent with macrame and mosaic in this lifetime isn't some kind of existential crisis; it's just a simple choice I must make because I chose music as my path. It was also my destiny and my passion.

For what you need to know, they give you Quert or Delight ill-dignified, which is the Ogham telling you not to get too serious and to maintain your sense of humor. As much as all of this stuff is important and yes, you must be the master of your intentions, the Ogham are telling you to laugh and be merry and gay. Get some sunshine, tell jokes, and say thank you.

Marriage and long term commitments in general are very, very tough, especially in this age of collective astral sepsis and normalized divorce. My husband and I will have been married 24 years in April. It can be like pulling teeth to continue being married -- I know this from personal experience -- as there is a great amount of power behind the fear of missing out. When things get testy, it can be very tempting to want to run away in hopes of starting over.

For the You position, they give you Oir or Epiphany ill-dignified. No lies: your wife is going through an extremely rough time and she is questioning her love for you. I don't know about the kids. The Ogham doesn't tell me that. Kids can be super annoying though, and if she's stressed, the conflict may leak out there, plus the kids obviously have their own lives and their own problems which doesn't help matters. The biggest complaint is usually money. If you are irresponsible with it, you need to get a handle on that immediately. The worst thing is a man who acts like an overgrown child -- not able or willing to provide, his attention captured by video games, TV, social media, drinking, gambling, or porn, and/or leaving her to do 100 percent of the child care, housework, and shopping. If you cannot provide, then clean the house, stop complaining (in fact, shut up) and hustle. If you can provide, don't be above helping the kids with their homework despite being exhausted or cleaning the dishes. Connections are always made through small acts. Instead of worrying, stop those thoughts in their tracks and replace them with gratitude.

For the Situation card, you drew Luis or Protection. You need to invoke your higher self to get through this, and that means building both your strengths and hers. Instead of focusing on what you and she have done wrong, focus on what you have done right. So if she brings up a complaint or a bad memory, acknowledge it, say "I am not proud of that; that is why I don't do that any more" and counter it with three examples of positive events and memories. For instance, when you find yourself about to criticize her for a parenting mistake because she's landed a low blow on you, think of three things you both did right as parents. Surely you did something right, as your kids are still alive!

For the Outcome card, you got Koad or Confluence well-dignified. You are in a good place to repair the relationship. All relationships, including the one I have with my husband, need repair at some point. In my own case, I am working on avoiding the externalization of blame that often lands on him whether he deserves it or not. My husband's sense of humor has saved our marriage many times. This March looks like it is on the up and up for you: all three cards were well-dignified. That said, it is not a forecast of roses (try May for that LOL) but more like a prediction of triumph if adversity presents itself.

Your own preconceived notions about how things should work get in the way of how they actually work. Spirit will guide you if you let it, but you have to let it lead the way. Learning how to listen instead of bargaining or hoping is a difficult art.

For the Outcome, you drew Uilleand or Generosity. One avenue you might try is volunteering. If you have time and resources to go to speed dating events, you could volunteer at an animal or a food pantry instead. I remember when I was young and feeling hurt from a broken relationship. You drew three cards this week: all were ill-dignified. I will say my usual spiel about an all-ill-dig reading not being the end of the world: I have had triumphant days on all ill-dig readings. It merely forecasts the areas of your life that will be extra challenging.

For the You position, you drew Ruis or Regret. Regret is put in our way so we can say "I don't do that anymore" and learn from our mistakes by setting a new track in space. This week may tempt you to wallow in regrets... just don't. When you are tempted to marinate in negativity, write down three times you were helpful, strong, or positive.

For the Situation, you drew Ur or Intimacy. It's very important to do diligent work on yourself and not overshare in hopes of getting attention and sympathy. This is between you and your ecosystem, not those who are on the outside looking in.

For the Outcome, you drew Quert or Delight. Addictions and overindulgence are not the answer to etheric starvation: instead, find a sunbeam and expose your naked rib cage to it. This will do more for your etheric starvation than any amount of fatty or sugary food. That said, dieting and strict limitation is a recipe for metabolic disaster, so don't do it and don't believe its hype. Instead, practice slow and steady moderation, weaning yourself off of the addictive substance or behavior slowly and carefully.

For the You position, you drew Koad or Confluence well-dignified. Things will straighten themselves out, especially more than last week's debacle. Taking a moderate, sane approach goes a long way. To some degree, this week's good fortune is what you've put in place but be sure to thank the Divine for your improved luck.

For the Situation, you drew Tinne or Defense ill-dignified. This can be a straight up danger card in my Ogham, so be on your guard for everyone. Over-defense is as bad as no defense at all, because by creating a hard shell around yourself, you become brittle on the outside and tender and weak on the inside. As much as it hurts to detach, you've got to stop hovering and accept the potential consequences. This is why I am always praying...

For the Outcome, you drew Ur or Intimacy well-dignified. Once again, the tight knit clan with a strong support system in place is your greatest asset. I was saying to one of my dear students that she needed to appreciate her parents because so many parents these days are a dumpster fire. A loving family is a precious thing. Intimacy is created through trust and trust is created when one person loves others enough to tailor himself or herself in a way so they can fit together like puzzle pieces. So of course this means listening, adapting, and sacrificing.

As for buying lots of merch, only do so if you want the merch. My Ogham give you Mor or Sea Change ill-dig when I ask "Should Anon buy lots of band merch to help artists?" and that means they say No, that isn't what will help.

So I asked, "Should Anon patronize live concerts as much as possible?" and they gave an emphatic Yes. They provide Coll or Wisdom well-dignified, which is a ringing endorsement. Live musicians were severely impacted by the Covid era; some lost the ability to make a living entirely. Unlike me, some people cannot fall back on teaching because it's not for them. Going and being their supportive audience is the most generous act you can do for them.
