Aye, most of our contemporary martyr saints are happening in Africa these days. I doubt any American Christians would hold up long in the conditions faced by ordinary Copts in Egypt, and pretty much all Christians in Nigeria, Libya... we are far too comfortable in our blindness and wealth. Those guys have a much better sense of the forces in play.
Watching the movements within the various churches in the US these last few years, though... I do wonder if we aren't about to get a taste of that for ourselves. I mean, you can make the sociological arguments and all, but I don't think this kind of... distillation... happens without God moving the pieces around for His own reasons. What are we being prepared for?
