The argument holds best if you have someone who's freaking out about something out of nowhere. The kind of person who reads innuendos into everything and links everything to the gay agenda, probably is gay. The kind of person who dislikes homosexuality and thinks "Drag Queen Story Hour" isn't appropriate for their kids is not that.
Likewise, someone who finds pedophilia everywhere very likely is one: but the kind of person who looks at the way media sexualizes children and draws some very uncomfortable conclusions probably isn't, in my opinion at least.
