Good riddance to the fax! I'm looking forward to my future lifetimes when the phone goes away for good. I'm grateful for my phone and deeply grateful for the internet but it and phones in general (like cars and driving) have caused me huge amounts of anxiety. Growing up in the era I did, I remember when the phone was attached to the wall and you could shut it off. For a long time, most people with lake cabins or cottages didn't have landlines there, so if one had the luxury, one would go to a vacation with no phones for an entire week. There is a special sort of bliss holing up with a bunch of great books in a house with no phone, surrounded by the sights and sounds of wild nature!
