Do you have any body spray, for instance Axe or Bath & Body works schpritz? When I want my cats to stop clawing the furniture, I spray whatever floral flavor-of-the-week body spray I have on hand on the couch arms and sides. Kitty tries clawing the surface and stops because it's like GARDENIA!!! or JAPANESE CHERRY BLOSSOM!!! scratch and sniff. Cats are very sensitive to smell. Not all scents do the trick though -- kitties still scratch my Pacifica body-sprayed items. It must not be noxious enough...
