I almost never end up with independent cats, it's so weird. Shadow and Ash are total momma's boys. I named Ash "Cockleburr" because he likes to stick to my body. They also both come when I call them and they know their names. Kiki also knew her name and would chirp when I said it. She would come when I called her as well.
