Thanks so much, Mr. Crow. I had not heard that song nor had I heard of Neutral Milk Hotel -- I have a thirteen year old guitar student who I know is going to love that song and probably that band, so thank you.
Keep in mind that karma is never as simple as our human minds try to make it. The path of the warrior is one that many of us travel, including General George S. Patton, who had distinct memories of being a warrior before he was George S. Patton. Take Luigi Mangione -- I don't think he will be judged as harshly as the guy he killed, Brian Thompson. Or let's use any random example of when guys in prison find out a new prisoner is a child molester and they all make his life a living hell. They may technically be the chomo's torturers but it's a job not unlike taking out the trash. Someone has got to do it, especially when the State is too incompetent to do the job.
I am no fan of Gnosticism as you can probably tell, because they fail to see the good. If they truly had the gnosis they claim to seek, they wouldn't deliberately immerse themselves in negativity. Seeing the world as a horrible trap is fixating upon the negative. To my mind, they claim to know by experience yet they don't allow themselves to love the good in any way that is not abstract and remote. Humans are biologically wired to see the negative, which makes it the easiest kind of obsession. Gnostics think they have seen through the illusion when they've actually become part of its wallpaper.
