And by "pretty", I mean the creepy, uncanny alien avatar version of beautiful. They have not truly taken off in the US, but in China, old, plain-looking livestreamers use them in order to look young and hot, or to appear female when they are actually male. The aesthetic keeps warping and getting more uncanny to reflect what the technology is doing.
