New Cover Song: Self Control by Laura Branigan

This is one I have been working on for awhile! I am also working on a musical setting of the Excalibur invocation from the Druid Magic Handbook, please hang tight for that one. It will probably be a couple of weeks. I am planning on doing an Orphic Hymns livestream on Sunday, June 23 for the Alban Heruin Solstice.

As long as you're doing a post on old eighties songs, this old chestnut from the early days of MTV is a musical piece that really captures what the surplus of etheric energy of youth feels like at its height, even if the lyrics are pretty much standard-issue eighties nonsense. ("I see no harm or danger in escaping, the method suits the style. We'll put the mind on idle, and let the others take it for a while!")

I remember by mum used to sing along to this song (played on a record player!) when I was little 🙂
