Ogham Readings on Mondays
Submit your question or request for a general "what's up this week" reading and I will be happy to oblige! I read between the time I post on Sunday night with a deadline of 10pm Monday night.

I am happy to read your Ogham free of charge -- that's how I hone my divination skills -- but if you want to donate for it, I'll happily buy myself a book, a snack, or a cup of tea while on the town. Please only donate if you can absolutely afford it. I've been there. Your prayers for my continued success are welcome whether you donate or not!

This week you drew three cards.
For the You or most immediate position, you drew Duir (Oak) ill-dignified. Duir means Gifts. You will become aware of a privilege that you possess or you will be gifted; as a result you would be wise to pay the gift forward somehow. Duir ill-dignified can also mean you will be especially generous this week with either your possessions, your time, your empathy, etc. and others would be wise to pay forward what you have freely given them.
For the Situation position, you drew Tinne (Holly or Eastern Cedar) well-dignified. Tinne means Defense. You are resilient this week or someone close to you helps you to be resilient. This card may be signaling that you will have to defend yourself or your position this week and will do so while remaining fair and justified in the defense you take, so be on the lookout for that.
For the final or Karmic position, you drew Beith or Beginnings/Intention well-dignified. This is to say that your intentions are strong and instinctively good this week, so make a note of the direction you are going in and the goals you are trying to achieve, as the powers are saying they are worthy of pursuit.

(Anonymous) 2021-07-05 11:51 am (UTC)(link)Re: This Week
This week, you drew three cards.
For the first or You position, you drew Ruis or Regret ill-dignified. You'll have a couple of potentials towards imbalance to look out for: either too much regret or too little. Watch out for a tendency to beat yourself up unnecessarily -- if you do that, counter it with reminding yourself of positive things you have done for yourself and other people. Of course you should acknowledge your own errors, but at some point we have to stop the self-flagellation and start saying "I don't do that anymore" and move on. If you beat yourself up too little, it means you are determined to make the same mistakes over and over again until Karma herself decides to slap you upside the head. No thanks on that one!
For the Middle or Situation, you drew Luis or Protection ill-dignified. There is a bit of danger this week, so stay vigilant. This is in a position where it could be talking about someone very close to you. You'll also want to be wary of over-protection, which is a common and fallacious way of presuming safety when you're actually not safe at all.
For the Karmic position, they give me Nuin well-dignified. Your feeling towards the greater world will be good. You may get good advice from afar, such as gleaning an insight from a long-dead author. If you have any form of public persona or recognition beyond your local circle, it will shine this week.

I'd like to request a general reading for the week ahead: these have proven really helpful for me thus far, so I'd like to keep it going.

Thank you! How did your move go?
This week you drew three cards.
For the first or You position, you drew Uilleand or Generosity ill-dignified. This means that you have become aware of your privileges in an unpleasant way (not necessarily a bad thing; we all should be aware of our privilege) or that you have given much of yourself and you won't see immediate returns. Don't worry, you'll see returns, they just aren't immediate.
For the middle position, you drew Straif or Resilience well-dignified. This is the Situation. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger -- you will put that old adage to the test this week.
For the Outcome, you drew Eadha or Limits well-dignified. You will set reasonable limits (this is part of your karma being resolved) and you will start seeing the power of sticking by those limits. We can't be all things to all people, and it's modernity itself that wants to force us to think otherwise.

The move went well enough. I'm settling into my new apartment, although I think it'll take a little while to fully unpack everything. I've gone grocery shopping, and found the farmers market nearby is awesome, and the neighborhood has a lot fewer people wearing masks. I hadn't registered how unpleasant it was to see so many people outside wearing them, but every time I step outside it feels so good not to see them everywhere. Also, the view from my bedroom window is a river, which is much better than what I had expected: I thought it would be a road or another apartment building, but it has a beautiful view.
All this is to say I'm quite happy with where I am now, and excited to have it for my home for however long I remain in Ottawa.
Well, this is interesting.
For the You position, they give Coll or Wisdom well-dignified. Four is the number of Earth in the Ogham, and they are saying that you are being guided along the Earth path. The Earth path involves recognition and celebration of the seasons as well as nitty-gritty pragmatic homesteading skills. If you are not well along that road, the Ogham are suggesting you take it.
For the middle position, they give Tinne or Defense ill-dignified. They say your situation or the situation of someone very close to you is fragile, whether you/they realize it or not. "Collapse and avoid the rush" resilience is your best insurance, that and your allies in people both close and far away. Tinne ill-dignified often warns of health events. Take preventative health measures and always be mindful of safety. And eat as many fruits and vegetables as you can possibly stand.
For the final or Karma position, they give Straif or Resilience ill-dignified. Again, they are saying you are fragile in ways you do not expect and that you should address that fragility. Straif isn't necessarily about money -- you can throw all the money you want at a problem and it often only serves to make it worse. For you, they are pointing out a path of natural wisdom and seasonal worship, I think.
Whats up this week?
Last week was rather quiet (except last night ;-]).
How does this week look?

Re: Whats up this week?
This week, you drew three ill-dignified cards, so the Ogham are trying to warn you of some imbalances.
For the first position or You, you drew Quert or Delight ill-dignified. Quert in this position means that worry will either be too excessive or too little: either you'll spend time fretting and make a mountain out of a molehill or you'll blow off a matter you ought to give some thought.
For the middle or Situation position, they gave you Duir, ill-dignified. Duir means Gifts. You will become aware of privileges and/or you will give much of yourself, which will put others in your debt -- this isn't a bad thing at all, in my opinion.
For the final or Karmic position, you drew Ruis or Regret ill-dignified. This means that you really need to curate what you say this week, and consider your actions with thought, as it will be an easy week to stick your foot in your mouth or commit to something you don't have time for. Ruis ill-dignified can also potentially be talking about past sorrows and having the urge to dwell in them.
Martial Arts
(Anonymous) 2021-07-05 03:12 pm (UTC)(link)Thanks for doing these. What does the Ogham have to say about me taking up a martial art?
Re: Martial Arts
They give me Ioho, which means Grace. It is well-dignified a.k.a. in balance. A martial art will give you the right amount of limits. You will benefit tremendously from your practice and over the long term, you will become a better person.

For the You position, they give me Ailm or Transcendence well-dignified. This means that you'll be able to overcome whatever life throws your way this week with style. Ailm in any dignity reminds you of the value of a sense of humor and a sense of proportion.
For the Middle or Situation position, they give me Mór or Sea Change. This was also well-dignified. There are some benevolent larger forces working on the behalf of you and your loved ones. Things should generally go well for you this week, and if you have any projects that need work or any people you need favors from, this is the week to do them/ask.
For the final position, you drew Duir or Oak ill-dignified. Duir is Gifts and this means you'll either give freely of yourself, causing the forces to recognize your sacrifice, or you'll recognize your own privilege and feel compelled to pay it forward.

This week, the Ogham warn you of imbalances. All three cards were ill-dignified.
For the first card, you drew Phagos or Beech in the You position. Two imbalances are possible: being overwhelmed by what you do not know, for instance being tempted to claim knowledge that you don't have, or not being able to use what you do know... knowing better but being frustrated that it doesn't matter if you know better.
For the Middle or Situation, you got Uilleand or Generosity ill-dignified. This most likely means that you or someone close to you will be called upon to act generously and won't be generous or will feel half-hearted about being generous, or in a best case scenario, they will act generously and won't get the proper thanks and recognition for it.
For the Karma or Outcome, you drew Ur or Intimacy ill-dignified, which means you'll either feel drained by those closest to you or that you aren't getting enough from them, and/or that you'll feel an extreme need to withdraw and decompress, hermit/Forever Alone style. It's a sensation I'm familiar with!

My Ogham predict a balanced week for you.
They give me three well-dignified cards.
For the You position, they give me Ioho or Grace. This means that you will do a good job of recognizing your own limits and gracefully letting go of that which is not yours and that which is out of your control.
For the middle position, they give me Straif or Resilience. This could be applying to either you or someone close to you. In either case, there will be a calm sense of constructive preparedness this week that is much, much more useful than the alternative extremes of wanton escapism or blind panic.
For the Karma or final position, they give me Saille, which means Sensitivity. This week you will have the uncanny sense of how to handle your life, and that can become priceless if you learn to cultivate it.
Did you get my PM here on Dreamwidth earlier this week about Marg?

Moving
(Anonymous) 2021-07-05 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)I need to move to a new place and I've narrowed it down to 3 three options; what guidance can the Ogham give to help me choose?
1.) stay in my current county in California, but find a new place to live
2.) move north to Humboldt County
3.) move east to the Carolinas
Thank you!

Re: Moving
My Ogham give three results, one for each place.
For your current county, new place, they give me Mór or Sea Change ill-dignified. The Ogham are clearly warning you that because of great, macro-level changes that you have no control over, your current county is becoming untenable. They recommend you get out.
For Humboldt County, they give me Onn or Community well-dignified. Again, a fairly clear statement that you will find a good community and will fit in well.
For the Carolinas, they give me Ioho or Grace well-dignified. Here they are saying that moving East will help you the most because you will be able to let go of things/people that no longer are meant for you. They are also saying you can live out your final years out there and be prosperous. Have you looked at your natal chart where this is concerned?

They give me three cards for you this week.
The first is Nuin (Ash or Gingko Biloba) ill-dignified. Nuin means Communication with the greater world outside your inner circle. Ill-dignified, it indicates a couple of potential imbalances. One is that there is too much accessibility and permeability between you and the world of strangers -- this could be talking about a vulnerability, being censored, or otherwise treated badly or it could mean that you aren't able to reach an audience you would like to reach or that the stranger who could help you isn't able to do so.
The Situation is a bit better. It is Uilleand well-dignified. Uilleand (Honeysuckle or Trumpet Vine) is a card of generosity and abundance. You will have an opportunity to sublimate the abundance you receive this week by paying it forward, and in return you will receive at least 7x the blessings you currently enjoy.
For the Outcome, you got Gort (Ivy or Bindweed) ill-dignified which indicates an imbalance in the perception of bounty and either persevering too much or too little. Too much perseverance warns of falling prey to the psychology of previous investment, meaning not liking a thing or situation but putting more into it anyway because you're so used to it. Too little could mean feeling deprived, and this doesn't always mean material plane deprivation. Personally, I have been battling etheric starvation lately and the only remedies I have found are making special food for myself and my husband, the lucky bystander, spending time in the garden and its sunlight, and taking time to read books I enjoy with my cat in my lap.
Merchant Marine
(Anonymous) 2021-07-06 01:11 am (UTC)(link)I've been contemplating for months to start a new career as a merchant marine on the Great Lakes, although there are a few other options, on inland rivers or internationally over the oceans. There are several things enticing about the opportunity, but also the huge drawback of being around from family for months at a time. Thus far, I've done everything needed to get my merchant marine credential and begin the career aside from submitting the merchant marine credential application. My question is, will being a merchant marine be good for my family and me? I am curious if it'd make any difference as well with the different options for positions since inland rivers are away for a much shorter time, Great Lakes for a couple months and international for possibly a whole year.
Thanks again!
