Ye gods! I grew up in a house that was a total dump, because my parents both worked, Mom never had the energy to deal with cleaning except on weekends, and Dad was raised in a family where men didn't *do* that. They also have a hoarding habit, and hired help still seems almost mythical to me. I've always been horrified by the thought of a 2500 sq ft house, because *how the heck could you clean that??* Four bathrooms is just four toilets to scrub. But I always figured it had to be better if an adult was at home full time to take care of the place... perhaps not.
