Ogham Readings on Sundays

I am happy to read your Ogham free of charge -- that's how I hone my divination skills. I take reading requests until 8pm Central Time (Chicago Illinois USA) on Sunday night. Though I am flattered that people want readings after the deadline, I decline reading requests made after 8pm Central Time on Sunday night without exception.

I will be taking off the last Sunday in December 2022 and the first Sunday of 2023 this year.

Hi Goatgirl,

My Ogham agree -- you are going through some s**t. They provide three ill-dignified cards representing You, Your World (the world and how it affects you and others in your immediate circle), and Karma, meaning the sum total of various equations in your life at this point in space/time. In my system of Ogham divination, every card has three potentials: one of balance represented by a well-dignified card and two imbalances represented by an ill-dignified card that indicate an extreme excess of the spirit element represented by the card or an extreme lack. If you draw ill-dignified cards as you have today, the nature of the imbalance is up to you to figure out what the Ogham are talking about (lack or excess). My system is far from perfect but hopefully you will find a path towards balance given this reading.

For the You position, they provide Nuin or Communication. Since it is ill-dignified, it is potentially pointing out a lack of communication: feeling unduly hostile towards strangers, only treating people well if they are your friends, or wanting recognition in a way that is toxic. If you have too much Communication, it can mean not discriminating enough when it comes to who you allow into your inner sanctum, poisonous dreams that go unanalyzed and therefore motivate you to do dumb things, and people pleasing because you think you "should" when you need to learn to say NO. Overall, Nuin imbalances are a matter of airy detachment: think of insults for people with an air imbalance. They are "airheads", "space cadets", "flighty", "full of hot air". The Ogham are saying you need to get down to Earth, to accept aging and loss with grace in yourself and others, and to prune and discipline your mind so you can focus on what is truly important instead of what is just a pretty mirage.

For the Situation, they provide Huath or Obstacles. When you have too much Huath force, it means you are coming on too strong and trying to "power through" something that won't budge. It means it is time to step back, think, and be a great deal less like a bull in a china shop. If you have too little Huath, it means you are running away from obstacles that you need to look straight in the eye and deal with. Since this is Situation, this may be talking about a close friend, family member, or significant other that you'd be better off cutting out of your life. It could also be talking about a bad habit. I had a friend from childhood who became so toxic, I ended up doing a cut and clear spell in 2020. The end had been coming for a long time, unfortunately. The good thing about a cut and clear is it frees the person to their destiny with no hard feelings and minimum negative blowback.

For the Outcome/Karma, you drew Mór or Sea Change ill-dignified. This tells me that you may have some issues working with nature and going with the flow. As much as people see "nature" as something relegated to forest preserves and spaces untouched by humans, nature is all around us all the time. You are nature and I am nature. I am here, indoors, sitting in "nature" typing on my computer. This is as good as it is going to get. The Ogham suggest you cultivate an appreciation for the here and now (which brings to mind my little joke in one of my song lyrics "I tried to live in the now, but I couldn't make it last" har dee har) instead of always fighting for the future or fretting about the past. It's OK to be thankful for now, to see the plastic-wrapped snack as manna from heaven, to perceive the spirit of the gas at the gas station as helpful, to reinterpret the scene in a way most modern people have utterly forgotten. Gratitude truly does fix everything.

Okay Goatgirl I'll trust your link when I go and find your email! I don't wanna add to your pain regarding us strangers. I'd just rather have a direct interchange with a PERSON rather than a big file or blog or website.

Dear Goatgirl-

i wasn't gonna write because i cannot presume to know ANYTHING of any substance from what you posted on Kimberly's site, BUT i went to go look at the preview of your book before looking at it and i winced and here's WHY:

i think you're of the internet generation and even your pitch to sell this writing was internetty, in that you're surface skating which is what the internet is all about and does. the medium is the message or it re-makes the world and you in its own image.

i winced because it and her pitch cheapens this work. and your question to Kimberly and that you get an e-book a DAY is crazy for retention and rumination...what Papa G calls meditation.

to be a woman to me and from the others who taught me, because we are each sisters and trade secrets and gifts all the time on how to BE this DO this... to me there is no BOOK and i myself am loathe to write down all i know about what i do because it always cheapens it just when i share it-- to gen pop or even the ones who get it on eco dream/or eco main.

but i do it because the internet has stolen everyone's inner attention and free time and imagination and i'm doing all i can to REMIND anyone who recognizes what i'm doing before we all get covered in resin and frozen in movement and life.

so i'm not Kimberly but as a SISTER i will tell you that i think you're even ASKING Kimberly such questions because you've lost touch with your deepest Femininity.

it is more expansive and amazing and wondrous than you know. this is what today's thinking misses as it kills... deadens... flattens... dessiccates... infiltrates and castrates.

this is why some girls of yore kept fluffy diaries or wrote hearts on the special days in the calendar. you cannot be a minimalist human. woman or man.

it's boring.

but i think you're saying the internet got boring and ain't nada on TV... or the magic phone as it is now.

so dare to be bored and try ONE just ONE of Papa G's teachings or offerings. the innerwebs teaches us to SKATE sample move on be distracted no eye contact even with one's own soul.

that's why we're gathered together here today.

i'm gonna publicly post this on eco dream even though THAT makes me wince. i'm sharing myself with my sisters and brothers who choose to falter into the world with experimenting on this work and i use myself as an example or inciter or inspirer on HOW to play with these things we read and study about.

so being Woman is a lot more fun and complicated than we've all recently been led to believe. one's secrets are necessary a must and i cannot look at that file you sent not because i don't trust you but because of the wince.

this is the world we are in and someone will always try to make a buck and pitch a new way but i don't think you can possibly hope to write down and hope to SELL such a thing. especially an ebook on the internet.

so stop vacuuming scanning skipping... stop stay still and see what happens in your BODY. watch how hard that is when you're not distracted by an e-book a day.

that's the world now. all scanning... no LIVING.

don't be "optimal" or "efficient." consider those bad words for awhile and see how it feels. then pick up one of Papa's studies that appeals to you. he's clean. anyone else is selling you something else on the other side. a retreat a logo water bottle a daily meditation you pay for on substack...

Erika, I'm so honoured by your reply. I'm glad you put this here, as I wasn't sure where best to respond. I wrote you a giant reply, then deleted it as I realised I was being defensive in order to block out what you were saying. Then I wrote another giant reply...and deleted that one also.
For someone who knows very little about me, you managed to make some very astute comments! So I think I'll just cut to the chase here and say thank you! You have given me plenty of food for thought, and I will take care to digest it with as much openness as I can muster!

oh another more accurate thought i wanted to convey to you is this:

the quiet comes FIRST so you discover who you are what you wanna do what makes you sparkle and burst into flame or wince flinch and cower... THEN you can think about how you wanna live out your time here and always have this center this grounding to return to.

it's what can and will protect you from further jonestown scenarios or even little hucksters will have no promises for you but to only bleed you like mosquitoes and vampires. they will be obvious as if they're wearing hi-vis yellow vests.

have fun and good luck. AND most importantly reach out to other young ones such as yourself such as us here... we're lonely and our kin is often other loners and we find each other by daring to say hello and SAY TOO MUCH.

Thank you Kimberley, from the bottom of my heart! Today, after reading your reply, I took a day off from "fixing it harder". I loved on the baby goats, and laughed at their sillies. Instead of doing battle with the weeds, I ignored them and focused on the beauty of the flowers. But mostly I pondered on my life through the lens of your ogham reading. And I saw very clearly the way that the imbalances you described are playing out in my life - and mostly it's both aspects...either gyrating wildly between too little and too much, or managing to express both imbalances simultaneously. I also saw that these imbalances are feeding back into each other, and amplifying each other, round and round...isn't it strange how obvious these things are when we know where to look, and how completely invisible they are the rest of the time...perhaps it's no wonder I've been feeling I'm deep in the briars!
Now I shall go forth and endeavour to find and express the balance.
