Good point. There is a book called Our Stolen Future that talks about feminizing pollutants in the environment and their effects on animal populations. Interestingly enough, one of them is the creation of gay animals, like female birds that nest with other females. Despite the histrionics of the title, Our Stolen Future is a solidly researched book and highly worth reading.
