You and me both: I remember those fluoride treatments with mild horror now. My oldest son had them too-- he had terrible enamel on his first several baby teeth. Why we tried to save them... well, live and learn. I've now known several little kids whose front baby teeth just rotted into little brown stumps... and their permanent teeth still came in just fine. But the dentist smells "new parent" and they scare the stew out of you with tales of abscesses and damaging the permanent teeth before they even come in.
I expect with our declining economy, everybody's just going to have uglier teeth in the future. And we'll get used to it, just like Brits.
