Thanks Michael for your kind words. I was in quite a mood when I wrote the OP! I'm getting together with one of my vegan liberal friends next week. I won't stoop to discuss anything political with her. That's the way it has been for months now. I have another leftist pal who lives outside the country and cannot get back here to see his aging father. I will stop by his aging parent's house (with mask and gloves and the whole nine yards) to make sure everything is OK this weekend, because when it all comes down to things, if we have nothing else in common, we at least both love and care for his dad. This particular leftist has found me to be a brick wall when it comes to discussing Trump.
Many Affluent White Female Liberals (the class I was born into and fell from -- I am adopted and grew up in a white family) have a pathological fear of being poor. That's where their snobbery and Karen-paranoia comes from. They pretend to champion black lives but they're actually terrified of black people because they've been taught to avoid black neighborhoods their entire lives and their only experience with blacks tends to be TV and movies. Their worst fear is becoming one of the downtrodden poor they disdain. If I become homeless, obviously I will have done what I could to avoid it. Other than that, I will accept it and try to use it as a learning experience. My only goal in this life is to become a better person than I was yesterday, if only by the slightest bit, and homelessness would not prevent me from doing that. Wasn't Jesus technically homeless? He managed to be quite a good person, actually I think he lands first place, ha ha!
"And so you know, I'm all of 73 and can count my true friends on one hand and have enough fingers left over to offend those who cut me off in traffic." Hilarious! I'm stealing that one.
