Wow, what a great comment! Much to meditate on, especially this idea of the tyranny of the old against the young and scorched earth. In my Corona, Mon Amour post, I touched on the idea of fear of death driving the whole freakout. Boomers know they've created an "arrangement without a future" in the words of James Howard Kunstler, and instead of accepting the Long Descent they've made into history's idiot bin, they've tried to obfuscate their role in the decline by creating a DIY flupocalypse.
