Basically I have already told my elderly parents that the only way they are going into "a home" is if they absolutely insist they must be there. Otherwise they will be living with me. Thank you for going against what I feel is a very stupid grain. Decline and collapse will hopefully bring with it the end of nursing homes -- why would anyone trust their elderly parents to one? To be fair, for some older people, it is a situation that can work out well for them, and of course there are childless people like myself who will have no children to live with, but I would venture a guess to happy nursing home residents being well in the minority.
