In Canada, lockdowns are so severe as we speak that you can be fined and arrested for re-opening your small business. In Alberta, authorities are cracking down on hair salon owners as if they were dealing hardcore drugs. In parts of Australia, it's pretty much illegal to leave your house. The world has gone batcrap crazy.

I live in Canada:

a) Our regime is set not by how we are doing locally, but by how our most populous city is doing, on an absolute basis. Toronto has a population of close to 3 million, and if it's ever above 10,000 cases, our entire province will be locked down; even if we have zero cases here.

b) We are only allowed out between 7 am and 6 pm, and only for work, to get mail, go to the grocery or liquor store, or get mail, and must wear a mask from the moment you step outside until you step back inside. You also have to be able to point to your house or car, which means legally I'm not allowed to go anywhere.

c) There are lots of people screaming that this isn't strict enough.

Oh, also, should have mentioned, homeless shelters are not allowed to be open. People are freezing hiding in portapotties, and the people freaking out about Covid are preening about how terrible it is that more things are not locked down.

I was asking my Ogham (divination tiles) about what these people's karma was going to look like for their posturing and cluelessness done from a position of comfort while homeless people literally freeze to death because of COVID fearmongering. My Ogham seem to think that most of their suffering will be done in the next incarnation and at the tail end of this one. Many of them will suffer great financial losses just as they leave this incarnation, meaning they will become extremely poor and die alone. The dying alone part is partial payback for all of the people they caused to die alone in solitary confinement in nursing homes and hospitals, but that won't cover it entirely, so they can look forward to repeatedly dying alone and abandoned in the next few incarnations for all of the damage they caused. They will be tormented in the dungeons of the lower astral after they die as for many of them, it will be where they dwelled most of their 21st century lives, so not much will have changed. Then they will be reincarnated as a huge class of extremely poor people. Because of their actions in this relatively privileged lifetime, they will be forced to suffer in the next one as industrialism and its comforts fall away. Basically, I'm really glad I got a clue and didn't contribute -- to the best of my ability, of course, I'm nowhere near blameless -- to what they caused to ripple throughout the planes.
