eh. I think there are degrees of it. I tend to view occultism as religion-adjacent. IMO it's far easier to make the step from there to the church (and I've encountered some who have done so), than it is to come to the church from secular materialism. It's a much smaller shift in thinking.

But I think there are definitely churches for whom those practices are quite threatening.
