That scenario looms large in the imagination. I'm still optimistic that we can pull off an indisputable Trump landslide, even with all the voter fraud going on. Still expecting localized violence (not here, but in the places that have already seen rioting), but in that scenario, the Guard will be called out and it'll be over quick.

In my county, 50% of all registered voters have already cast ballots. Early voting is a boon for all the working people who'd struggle to get there on voting day, old folks who don't want to wait in line, etc. We went this week, and there was no line, in the middle of a weekday, but a steady trickle of people in and out. Probably a dozen people voted in the ~10 minutes or less we were there. I think people are nervous about the potential for demonstrations at the polling places on election day, or SNAFUs with the equipment, or other snags. They are not risking it. They're projecting maybe a 90% turnout by the time polls closes, here. I've seen a lot of speculation about the early voting in FL, but as far as I know, they're not actually allowed to tally up the votes until polls close: all chatter about who's ahead in FL is based on party affiliation of people who've voted already. I think that'll end up shocking people who've been assuming everyone will vote their own party. I'm registered independent. Voted Trump. I've talked to several people who are registered Democrat, who also voted Trump this year. But I haven't met anyone at all who is registered Republican, and voting Biden.

We'll see.
