At least for me, it is a very hard challenge to accept that the rest of the world does not bend to my wishes. In America alone, the politicians of our country do a lot of things that I do not like, and realistically I can't really do anything but accept that it happened because I don't really have any power in our political system. The latest examples are Trump giving amnesty to illegals in the farm industry and Trump getting the United States into a costly and unnecessary war with Iran.
It's hard because in the past few years I've gotten into the terrible habit of indulging in Twitter rage whenever a politician does a bad thing I don't like, and it just sucks hours out of my day and is terrible for my mental health getting angry at the Democrats and the Republicans for the shit they are doing in office. I'm giving them free energy that they can then use against me or whatever else.
Instead, i should learn to accept and ignore the things that I cannot control, even if it is something like our politicians destroying America, and instead redirect my energies to more positive and constructive activities in my own personal life.
