Fair enough, just don't spell it out like that. Don't say things like "I'm giving you a chance to see if you like me for who I am and gauging if I like you back" and that sort of thing. It's lame and always misses the mark. The number one way you can find out whether or not you two are compatible: sense of humor. I am sure I have shared how many times the whole sense of humor thing has saved my marriage, whether it was mine or his, right? If I were you, I would memorize a bunch of jokes, corny, ribald, and otherwise, and see if she thinks they're funny despite the cultural divide. Back when I was in college, I used to tell my Ukrainian piano friend Anatoliy all of the best and worst jokes I could find despite his English being not so great... he loved them.
